QUOTE(kcng @ Apr 18 2012, 01:23 PM) vios... Yeah, like that Avanza thread where the handbrake knob broke. And it's a common problem. Toyota eh?u never go wrong with it... good features... excellent handling... superb chassis... and best of all, its a toyota... wont have problem at all... Vios is not worth it. Tin box compared to other B segment cars, IMHO. Peugeot 207 is a 206 in a fancy dress (and the original 206 is so much better looking!), so it's basically Toyota strategy. Extremely outdated car with a facelift. Wait for the 208 if you want a Peugeot. Myvi... well, no. I don't think it is competition. Competing cars are much more expensive... Let's wait for crash tests for the Preve, then we'll see if it is good or not. (http://aseancap.org/index.php?pg=news&id=uitkto31eb Preve?) |

It is unfair to compare a RM70K++ Potong car with a RM70K++ imported car i.e Toyota and the like.
The price for imported cars have been hiked up close to a 100% of their original price and they have to compromise many features and specs just to compete with the local trash Potong. RM70K++ for a piece of local junk is considered very expensive especially for the quality that they are providing. Elsewhere in the world, RM70k++ can get you quality of a VW Golf and the like. |

QUOTE(RayLaguna @ Apr 18 2012, 12:29 PM) Now that we've discovered the Preve isn't so impressive owing to the factors below: Forte 1.6sx beats everything you listed in the poll there.best price : features. As for preve, only if you trusted proton only gofor it.1) Unresponsive below 2k RPM 2) Loud engine noise 3) Interior quality Is it still worth the price of RM73k as compared to Peugeot 207 and Vios J Spec? Or is it better to squeeze my wallet for every drop of blood to get a proven big CC car - Inspira or Forte? Or just screw anything above RM70k and get the dreaded MyVi? |

Why should it be subjected to those taxes in the table http://www.maa.org.my/info_duty.htmUnder Local Taxes CBU and CKD, Potong is not subject to these taxes. If a Vios is taxed only 10% more than a Potong, the latter would have gone into administration a long time ago. |

Thanks for clarifying.Anyhow, to me, Potong doesn't exist because it is a combination of "bought" technology tweaked a lil' here and there and claiming it as their own. I will not even consider it if I am getting a new car. |
