Saw this in exhibiton pwtc. You need to make another door or window for the SS mesh. Don't feel like it.

Thanks marcus/ozak for your feedback. I'm in penang and saw it at recent homedec. Quite expensive roughly RM150psf. Two panel sliding door cost RM6000+. I wonder whether got other brand to compare.

I like it as it is grille+insect net 2-in-1, no need to install so many layers, looks nice & simple and can act as reflective glass too! The door also has security door feature. But the price is really sky high for me...

I saw it at Viva Home - Elegant Screens (Master Security). He came over and gave me a quote for my whole house. It was close to Rm 50K. sad.gif So went back to normal Mild steel grilles. All came up to RM 7k only smile.gif

No lah. Standard intermediate terrace house. Only difference is i have a terrace (balcony) which i wanted to cover the whole area and not just the glass door. smile.gif

I was also researching on whether it is cost-feasible to install these security screens, and looking at your rough quote of RM150 psf, I think I am going to pass ... I had thought that with the additional competition, the prices would come down. I agree there should be a premium compared to normal solutions, but more than 10X more is not worth it.

Hi all,

Just visited arxtech, and their website www.arxtech.com.my.

I went to their SG buloh factory, located in SG buloh, feels like a movie set on post doomday in earth. Those who are used to pavilion mall will get a shock.

Got their quotation at RM 125sqft for steel mesh sliding door, and with my long sliding glass door now at 22 ft, it will cost me RM 18K for full added protection. Got quotation for wrough iron galvanised powercoated grille from 3 Kim, about RM 7.3K and mosquito net from vitally, comes up to RM 2.5K: total RM 10 K.

So it is 18 k solution vs 10 k solution. But the arxtech guy said that they can build 4 panels of mesh sliding door, instead of 6 panels (currently, my condo got 6 panels of glass sliding door), leaving 2 fixed end glass panel unprotected but offered armorshield film to protect the glass from another vendor armorshield. 4 panel of steel mesh comes up to RM 12K. Now RM 12k vs RM 10k solution. With motion detector spotlight and alarm system, thief will be long gone before reaching the glass sliding door.

I think for a condo it is fine as thief need to pass main security with registration, and use passcard with CCTV to gain entrance to main building, not for house.

for balcony right? I think no need so high security. Your existing glass door should be enough. How high are you at?
I only do glass for my front door, act as a grill.

yeah that place is not really a showroom. I dunno why they dont do a proper showroom. TBH I dont like to deal with them but I have not seen a better constructed door/window than them. Their stuff is really top notch

did they give you 20% off?

Hi, my front door is wooden firerated door, steel mesh sliding door is for balcony.

I have a large balcony and there is a 3 ft walkway connecting all the balconies of units on the same floor, but the access to the balcony walkway is protected via a grille door near the common lift area.

If you have a bungalow/house with large glass sliding door, no choice but to use (a) grille and mosquito net or (b) steel mesh aluminium door.

Their product is ok, hinge is protected.

Axntech sales guy is ok, honest. I will checkout magestec at curve first.

Bro... I know its kinda 1 yr old...

But wondering what did you finally decide to go with?

How's the Majestec product compared to ArxTech? I notice ArxTech is using 2.4mm weave.. thats's like more then double the usual 0.9mm weave used in Australia.. .which limits the visibility/airflow somewhat while gaining better security (i hope).
