Hi, my front door is wooden firerated door, steel mesh sliding door is for balcony.

I have a large balcony and there is a 3 ft walkway connecting all the balconies of units on the same floor, but the access to the balcony walkway is protected via a grille door near the common lift area.

If you have a bungalow/house with large glass sliding door, no choice but to use (a) grille and mosquito net or (b) steel mesh aluminium door.

Their product is ok, hinge is protected.

Axntech sales guy is ok, honest. I will checkout magestec at curve first.

Bro... I know its kinda 1 yr old...

But wondering what did you finally decide to go with?

How's the Majestec product compared to ArxTech? I notice ArxTech is using 2.4mm weave.. thats's like more then double the usual 0.9mm weave used in Australia.. .which limits the visibility/airflow somewhat while gaining better security (i hope).

Hi,

I picked Arxtech instead of majestec and went for the full 6 panel protection, got a bit more discount at homedec.

Airflow is ok, i can feel the wind blowing into the balcony. Visibility is also ok, i can see outside from my living room on the day time but it restrict visibility into the home.

Thanskf for feedback sir!

I went to reno fair and saw the Panther brand (from australia) going for RM10k for 3 panels.. -10% discount

I got for 4 panel sliding door 8' x 12' around RM10k from Vinca
*
Vinca?

What products do they offer in the "security" sense?

Cause their website is very badly done, cant even see what product range or services they offer.

Hi maiself,

Vinca-that is uPVC frame like Fascina right?
anyone known what frame arxtech is using?
For glass, arxtech looks like the only one we discussed here to provide S.steel mesh glass.

RM10K is what kind of tempered / double layer laminated / PVB laminated glass? there different thickness

No grille solution looks tempting! with steep cost
*
Depending on which type of door/window you get form Arxtech, from what I know they are using Alluminium frames.

There is a lot of supplier that provides mesh glass, its actually 2 layer of glass with a wire mesh between it. I would not recommend this for big panels, small window maybe, but glass doors etc wouldnt be viable. Its usually for those blast door with small glass window. Its going to be very heavy, costly, and its not as secure as a proper stainless steel mesh door.

I just bought PANTHER security mesh at bukit jalil fair yesterday. They're doing raya promo now. Decided to go with them vs others for few reasons:
1. their service is very good - salesman friendly and able to answer technicalities
2. they give 10 years all in warranty. Other brands I asked got t&c - like 10 years paint, 1 year hardware
3. they use 316 SS mesh, others 304
4. they boasted about screwless mesh retention system. I was not convinced, so was invited to their office to test on actual product. When I asked other brands for same test, they shy away from this request  biggrin.gif
*
Their website outlined this system very well, the last fair i went they have a sample there for ppl to "test kick". Overall quality is good, and like you said the sales people are attentive and helpful, it also helps they have "fair only promotion". Whats the promo price now, still around RM10k for 3 panels?

My only concern with them is the thickness/width of the frame due to the screwless design. A thinner frame looks nicer overall....

I feel we shouldnt be too focused on their mesh, another item to look at is the quality of their lockset and hinges. A weak hinge will have problem in the future as well as a seized/jammed lockset. A 5 point lockset can range from RM300 to RM2500...

And you are right, weak lock and hinges can be the weak point in a security mesh, regardless of mesh or frame type. They give out 10 years hardware warranty (vs others 1 year) so that gave me a peace of mind too.

A tip to ppl interested in Panther Protect product - it won't be easy to low ball their price, because they know they are selling security mesh with highest spec compared to other brand with the longest warranty and many satisfied customer reviews. So try to catch them during the fair promo period for the best deal.

Cant wait for my set to be installed. Will share some pics here when done  biggrin.gif

I think quite a few companies give out warranties. Arxtech gives 12/6 years warranty not sure of the details.

As for pricing, they are all more or less within the ballpark figure of RM10k/3 panels... what's the promo price you got recently as I havent update the prices.

The grill is already hard enough to escape when fire. Somemore secure mesh like this even harder.  sweat.gif

Got secure mesh means no need grill bro.

Its a cosmetically more pleasing alternative.

Problem I have is..... house will have a LOT of glass sliding doors and windows.... if just put on the door.. it will look darker... how about the windows? If put entire house I bankrupt.... (not to mention small window u do mesh + glass looks dumb).

Thinking to change to security glass (blast proof stuff with wire means inbetween 2 layer of glass), then tint it darker to match the colour of Mesh+Glass so that the entire house's glass door/windows looks uniform.

But break in normally won't break the glass. Too much attention. They go over your frame, lock and joint. This type of breaking is much more quiet.

Darken the glass is ok.

I will just use alarm sensor or a simple grill with easy detach in quick.
*
1. Joint, always have an internal ones. I have seen people with security back door.. but the hinges is OUTSIDE. Cannot brain that.

2. I dont like easy detach grill, security concern.

3. I dont like grill, aesthetic reason, dont like my house looking like a prison.

4. Alarm. Thats the thing, over sensitive and it goes off every other day and your neighbour will start ignoring it. But my house is farily close to the security guard house, hope they will atleast take a look when it goes off. Oh and put some movement activated flood light. That helps alot.

No matter how much u spent, their is alway a way to break in. Recent security door is an example. Wire mesh can be break too.
*
Ofcourse can break.

Even bank vault can break.

The trick is to make your house a less desirable target compared to your neighbour's. cool2.gif

Still No need to be expensive like 10k for a door, practicality is more important
*
The cost is not exactly bank breaking.

And its very practical, you can open the glass door to let the air in... and the mesh will stop bugs (mosquito) from coming in. Aedes is a very serious problem in our country.

Usually hardware store got one or two size.
*
Hardware store fulls of fiber/plastic/allu etc nettings at a cheap cheap price. However, this would mean self installation and the aesthetic of the work... well... I can tell you i tried it and it looks ridiculous sweat.gif

Also these type derail from the main idea of having a secure mesh.

I just confirmed my order with Panther Protect today. Doing for the whole house, with a combination of casement windows, top hung windows, sliding door/windows, and a swing door. I spent almost a month doing my research before making the decision (cause it is so damn expensive so need to ensure my money will be worth it). Incase this would help any of you make your decision.. here is a simple chart I did. smile.gif

Nice, thats helpful.

Also pls dnot forget about the actual lockset system.

Its good to know what lockset they are providing, if the mesh/door warranty 10 years and your lockset gets jammed..
