What false publicity when Penang is part of Malaysia and the federal government should fund or at least, kick start it.

In Australia, federal (Commonwealth) government is Labor, but they still fund projects in Victoria which is ruled by Liberal National Party.

Malaysians are not Australians. We're not politically matured enough, compared to Australia. Do you really want people to be misled into thinking that the good deeds of one government while the other government takes credit? smile.gif

Its also the duty of the voters to be well informed.

Anyway, it was Badawi's time. He was a poor and an ineffective leader. smile.gif

What a flimsy argument. It's like saying the police should be reluctant to catch thieves because they are afraid that the local rukun tetangga people would take the credit.

Ok.  smile.gif
The timing? Well, it is indeed political, I admit. Let's be honest, wouldn't both sides want to look impressive? If the project had gone through, Malaysians would thank the Penang state government instead of the federal government. That would allow the opposition to benefit from "false publicity".

Anyway, the government shelved the project and revived the KTM project, as I remembered Badawi's exact words, "To focus on people's need first". Of course, Badawi was never really a good leader for the country.

Perhaps you should read Utusan, watch TV1 (TV3 looks moderate in comparison), and go to UMNO dominated forums. Those people are just a tiny bit more annoying.

Its not. Political planning is part of political culture. Vote opposition if you want to, but voters will have to bare with that decision if it backfires.

Well, if PR is only talking about breeding hatred towards BN, why should the media give room to them? Their job is ensure the development of the country is taken care of, which I've yet to see them do. I haven't seen them provide a good check & balance system. Look at Selangor for example. Poorly managed state plagued with problems which are yet to be sorted out. YET, BN have been excellent opposition in Selangor. Noh Omar should be Selangor's chief minister. smile.gif

Well, its part of politics. That's why Malaysians should learn to vote smartly.
