QUOTE(Kaffatsum @ Jul 28 2013, 07:23 AM) I'd even go so far as to say creatine is better than any type of whey/protein. edit: but you dont need it. if you can get your required p intake from food, then you dont need protein powder.I'd say creatine is better, or at least higher on the priority list, due to the bolded bit. You can meet your protein requirements from whole food. Creatine, meh, not unless you heat a shit-ton of beef.

QUOTE(Kaffatsum @ Jul 28 2013, 05:45 PM) yup, i think creatine is no doubt better than protein powder. but id rather have someone starting off with supps to get protein powder instead of creatine. Creatine wont make you grow, protein powder will. After they know how much they need (to grow) and if they can get it from food, then they can ditch the protein. That's a valid point too.

QUOTE(MIVECburuk @ Aug 8 2013, 09:24 PM) i was thinking the same thing, how can cold water damage your kidney?that is beyond broscience....anyway? is it normal to lose some strengh when u go off creatine?
Possibly, yes. That's probably the only way to tell if you actually respond to creatine supplementation. If you stop supplementing with creatine for a couple weeks and you don't show any signs of feeling weaker or getting weaker, it probably didn't work for you in the first place.

QUOTE(nodeffect @ Aug 12 2013, 10:12 PM) Guys, on whey protein, do I need to take it daily or only after I workout? Depends if you've hit your daily protein goals for the day from whole foods or not.Actually, do you guys take creatine and whey protein together each time you workout? Doesn't matter when you take it.I'm almost there, but I don't know when to take. Any recommendations? Can share your schedule? Thanks.

QUOTE(gingerman2408 @ Aug 13 2013, 01:45 PM) Care to explain? Never heard that getting more than optimal protein intake can have diminishing effects. As I know, most bodybuilders go for at least 1g/lb bodyweight which is already more than optimal, just to be safe (sometimes it's hard to accurately measure protein intake, especially from meat sources). Also, people on a cut tend to take in even more protein due to the higher TDEE. Unless you mean excessive protein intakes (4-5g/lb bodyweight?), in which case I have no idea what are the effects on health. If I'm not mistaken, optimal protein intake for muscle growth is 0.82g per lb of LEAN muscle mass. Darklight's intake of 120gm per day is actually pretty optimal (assuming 71kg body weight @ 9% bf) There's only so much muscle you can put on over a period of time as a natural, provided an optimal diet. Consuming extra protein will likely not do much in terms of extra muscle growth. Enhanced athletes are a whole different story of course, but that's not for this forum.

Gaspari Myofusion Elite series (strawberries & cream)
Can't lie, this product tastes really really good, even better with cold water. I was a little skeptical after Gaspari's probiotic series didn't live up to their regular taste standards but this is definitely a winner. Mixes completely with a couple shakes (as it should). Nutrient profile is good with 25g protein per serving. Price is decent as well at approx RM150-165 depending on where you buy it.

QUOTE(harris92 @ Sep 2 2013, 10:48 PM) Hey guys, I will be transferring to the UK next month to complete my studies and I am wondering if anyone here knows where can I get cheap supplements (not that particular about the brands) while I am there. Thanks! I get mine from www.myprotein.com. Definitely not as cheap as supps back home in Malaysia but they're good value in the UK.

QUOTE(zimhibikie @ Sep 14 2013, 03:05 PM) if combos like this, worth it ka? 1. Do you know what they are and what they're meant for? 2. Do you know why you might need them? If you answer no to either question, don't buy it.

QUOTE(xDjWanNabex @ Jan 5 2014, 07:51 AM) IM a vegetarian, and looking to get some proper protein in. other proteins have substance of eggs and what not in it. if im not mistaken it has pretty high amount of amino acids in it..which is what we want at the end of the day.. rice protein is also an enhancer of insulin sensitivity and also helps reduce cholesterol.. Not sure which you're referring to but ON 100% Gold Standard whey is derived from milk (thus the term whey).

QUOTE(janson_kaniaz @ Jan 5 2014, 02:49 PM) quite a lot of brands of protein blend contain egg albumin. Well, that's to be expected from a protein blend. Which is why I cited whey as an example since I assumed, being a vegetarian, he would focus his attention toward whey protein. QUOTE(ceveori @ Jan 5 2014, 03:12 PM) chief, any idea why On platinum so expensive? Supposedly because it consists of hydrolysed whey protein. But IMO, it's unnecessary and regular protein will do.

QUOTE(shiloong7081 @ Mar 7 2014, 07:18 AM) Just bought universal ultra whey pro (cookies and crean) from musclemaniaclub. The powder is bland, even when mixed with milk, and tasted abit sour for me. Not sure if it's the product itself or the whey has gone bad. It was sealed, and expiry is in 2016. Whatever it tastes like, it'll never be as bad as unflavoured BCAAs. Stuff is lethal. QUOTE(darklight79 @ Mar 15 2014, 11:01 AM) You go try unflavoured leucine, then get back to me. Well BCAA supps pretty much is leucine, just with more other nasty aminos.

QUOTE(Joey-kun @ Aug 21 2014, 05:55 PM) Hey guise, am wondering if anyone has tried GAT Nitraflex before, and how does it fare? reviews online are too polarizing and confusing, with some peeps saying that it worked very well for them while others claim that it was horrible, gave them heart palpitations etc. or a supplement that helps boost testostrone, promotes weight loss and boosts workout energy? hmmm It's marketed as a testosterone enhancer/booster, in other words, it's rubbish.
