Hi there, I'm also a newbie on CA. Just visited the thread about CA terminology to get me started.
I have a brand new Axia, but i bought the most basic spec without speakers and HU. I'm trying to find a set of speakers and HU to fill them. My focus is on SQL or just SQ. Budget is below rm1k. Anyone have any recommendation of brands/models? Without a subwoofer is ok for me though. Just 2 outputs focused on the driver and front passenger is sufficient. |

Hi everyone. Just got into ICE recently. I just love music that I've decided to invest some $ on it. My current setup so far is Kenwood KDC - 100U as my HU, Morel Maximo 6.5 component as my front speaker while back speakers remained stock. Planning to upgrade my back speaker to Focal 165 ISC coaxial/Pioneer TS-D1602R/JBL GTO-629 coaxial/ or any other better rated coaxials at that price range. No amps for now. Would need suggestions on what amps to use to drive these back speakers and front components. Doors have been treated with 1 layer of vibration dampening while floors are treated with vibration dampening and basic acoustic foam insulation. Plan to install insulation on doors somewhere in the future. Not planning to install sub at the moment. Perhaps a Underseat sub if I ever change my mind/everything else is done. Not planning to sacrifice space for a sub in the boot. Perodua axia.
Questions. What amps should I go for these setup? (JBL, Pioneer, Alpine, Polk, Focal?) Budget about 500-1k (I'm open to suggestions for price slightly higher if it's worth the price/performance ratio) What model should I go for the back coaxials? Is there big differences between Morel Maximo and Tempo series? (I did consider using the same brand for the coaxials as well) TQ Music genre. R&B, classical, any other genres in between... Love emphasis on vocal reproduction, non fatiguing highs, tight quality bass (non boomy). This post has been edited by nuttyking91: Oct 27 2016, 02:39 AM |

IMO the first step would be to do a proper sound deadening before installing the speaker setups. sound deadening the floor and door would be a great start. perhaps components for front and subwoofer with amp? Budget wise in the end is up to you cuz not everyone is willing to spend alot on ICE. Perhaps 2-3k for a start? 1k + for basic sound deadening and another half for basic speaker setup? then u will go on from there... or maybe if u feel that ur speakers are fine for now u can add a subwoofer and an amp and from there only u decide Any suggestions on how to get started? QUOTE(empire177 @ Oct 30 2016, 10:02 AM) minimise the vibrations caused when u have a better sound systems ie speakers in ur car. as u turn up the volume, the door panel will rattle along with the speaker. so adding foam/sound deadening layer will minimise the vibrations and aso reduce some of the exterior noise. Some people said that sound deadening ur car is almost useless and it doesn't bring much difference. Well highly debatable topic. I think you can get better suggestions reading the forums as I myself are not good at this |

Simple set up can be done... just maintain your stock speakers and tweets... change your player to perhaps kenwood or pioneer.. see your budget lahh if it permits go for double din if not single din would do the trick... add one monoblock amp and also woofer.. should be just fine.. if you got extra cash.. change your front speakers into a component setAny suggestions on how to get started? It's not about buying too expensive player but a lot of factors need to be considered as well... speakers.. wiring and etc.. your cost may go higher then...Is it truly worth it ? |
