- [b]My ride: Altis 2005
- [b]Prefers SQ/SPL/SQL: SQ
- [b]File format/medium used for my source: CD & little phone
- [B]Music genre: vocal,jazz
- [B]Budget: below 1800 including installation
- [b]Setup type preferences: I already have P4 amp for sub and mid range. Last time using Alpine 7894, faceplate got stolen, cannot get back the same faceplate, so have to change head unit, similar or better quality with 7894RB
- [b]Other requirements (if any): Alpine die hard fans. Please advise any suitable head unit. other option is top up another RM500 if with DVD player (alpine only), possible?

Looking for 2 options: budget <RM1800 for HU without DVD or <RM2300 with screen and DVD.

- My ride: Satria Neo
- Prefers SQ/SPL/SQL: SQL > SPLin that order
- File format/medium used for my source: Mostly streaming from Google Play from my Nexus. AUX or BT preferred.
- Music genre: A little bit of everything. Mostly stoner instrumentals and hiphop.
- Budget: I'd like for it to be within 2K but a little over would be fine. Prefer with installation.
- Setup type preferences: I like bass, but not so much that it drowns out vocals and instrumentals. I also prefer punchier bass rather than deep muddy bass.
- Other requirements (if any): WEIGHT. The lighter the better. I'm very weight conscious when it comes to my car. BT if possible. Rear speakers aren't so important as people rarely sit at the back. Also if it's possible, can add sound dampening to the setup? I feel like my sound isolation isn't good enough.

- My ride: Hyundai Atos
- Prefers SQ/SPL/SQL: SQ maybe?
- File format/medium used for my source: : iPod, Android, MP3
- Music genre: : all music but mostly POP, DJ, Jazz
- Budget: : below 1000
- Setup type preferences: : no preferences, I just want to replace all my stock speakers and HU, and if possible I want to add an Underseat subwoofer. Thats all.
- Other requirements (if any): I just need a decent sound system which suit my budget. No preference brands.

But I have saw these two HUs :
http://xciteaudio.com/car_headunit/pioneer_deh-x1650ub
and
http://xciteaudio.com/car_headunit/alpine_cde-141e

will those two enough or overkill for me? or sifus has other recommendation, I'm all ears.. biggrin.gif
And also, is there any recommendation shop where I can go to install the sound system?
Or I can just buy online (like from xciteaudio) and install anywhere? looking at my simple setup.

Always goto the shop near your place, if you are not so fanciful on the audio system. 1k you should be able to find something, but should not be able to include the underseat sub. You still need to consider installation fees.

I'll say 1.5k should be ok for you.

Well, there is always a work around. For starter, just leave the rear speaker as it is.

hmm, okay.
So the 1.5K budget is for the HU + front Speakers only? or is it included the underseat sub?
What I'm afraid is, bcos I'm inexperienced in these stuffs, my throat will be cut kaw kaw when going to just any shop.

Well, you can share where you stay or where you think is convenient for you to go. Then those people here will be able to tell you more then...

1.5k should include HU, front speakers and underseat sub.

Rear speakers are always a waste of money. Most of them will say they need to entertain the people sitting at the back, but when your car move up to certain speed, they won't hear much from the back or anything already.

Have a good installation that can bring the front stage up to your dashboard level, then everyone can enjoy your new upgrade.

Cheers.

i too suggest around 1.5k for a good startup...get it step by step and get a good 1 in complete...1 time for all now will make ur system capped at the very limited where when you find it's not good enough, you need to change all parts for the new parts..double the pay..

for starter set of component i will suggest

focal, maestro, helix, dominations, rainbow, eton, etc...sorry i do not know other brands because i dun have them...

for door sp, it's basically make your midbass sound as it should be....the mid bass speaker need a space with good and solid sizing to make it sound accurate...Without sp ur door, most probably your speaker will perform the job in a free air environment and the sound will be either cancelled off from the vibration or spread out to other parts via vibrations...
