sometimes it's just the install / tuning make the sound signature different. dun judge too fast first. maybe the 1 u listen is the worst example? who knows.....listen to few more can let u know how it really perform..

This time I'm asking for my friend
He is currently running a set of focal ps165 from an alpine cde 123 hu
Now he is searching for a 4 channel to run his component set and his rear coaxial lol
I told him no need rear but he said he want it oh well
His budget is around 1.5 k is there any 4ch amp to recommend to him
As I have no idea because I'm not familiar with that setup haha

I've heard a Focal Utopia setup before as well with hardware similar to what Ezmeer has pointed out. Tuning a 3-way isn't easy and getting it right is a pain in the a$$.

Having said that even after getting it right I don't like the characteristic of the Utopia tweeters and midbass. The mids are ok though. Kinda thin sounding overall.

Love the new setup, even though i'm still using the lousy stock HU. the speakers and the amps really DID make a difference. of course coupled with Howie's tuning!!
