*
Feel not matter K&N, Pipercross, Works, Simota, etc, nothing can beat Ori paper element filter!
Best filtration...
No maintenance required...Use & Throw!
Best price!!
Eg. Cost of 1 K&N can provide 1 year supply of Ori!! IINM probably MORE than 1 year? whistling.gif
Not counting cost of cleaning set...tongue.gif

ps. Of course, if one goes for short term gains of wat one believes in, it's a free country...yr ride, yr $$$... brows.gif

Hi Bro...
Think yu got it the other way arnd...
Long term shld b Ori in terms of price, no maintenance, best filtration! tongue.gif

Short term then get sp intake sound, slight performance improvement (placebo effect?) while hving 2do cleaning & paying lots more out front!!
Btw faster air flow also means poorer filtration.
True?

QUOTE(r3apers @ Apr 10 2012, 04:12 PM)
yah, but in long term u use more $$$ at ori filter.. aftermarket only pay once and the filter cleaning kit can wash about 10-15 times if not mistaken...

ori filter is good in filteration, but i prefer aftermarket as it will be bit worst filtration thn ori but air flow is much better~!

correct me if i'm wrong~!

but heard Apexi is the best among all in filtration... (compare to all aftermarket air filter)
*
Yup, no doubt abt those high cost air filters providing better air flow & the ECU will compensate to maintain the AF ratio, resulting in more fuel being injected & mixed. Outcome? Slightly better performance. smile.gif

For every plus, there's alwaz a minus. FC wld b affected...
Also with better air flow, more dirt particles wld pass thru and ..... whistling.gif

As for expenses, AFAIK Ori is abt RM17 each & replaced every 20k Km?
So 4lifetime of car (theory has it at 250k Km?), need 2replace Ori 12X ie 12 x RM17= RM204.
And each time, a NEW clean filter is used.

So assuming eg K&N is abt RM250(?) and (supposedly lasts also car lifetime) plus cleaning kit costs (not 4getting time & energy in cleaning process), the total figure is more than for Ori.

Of course cheaper ones wld b same costs or even less. However, wat abt the quality of those cheaper ones?

All in all, only benefit is the deeper intake sound + slight performance gain.

So whoever does so shld b happy with that benefit & not worry abt the losses... brows.gif

ps. Bro...Juz for discussipn sake. No offence intended. TQ. icon_rolleyes.gif

Bro you no understand la.

Got performance filter - car "feels" more powah, driver feels happier, then will live healthier, life also longer. thumbup.gif
No performance filter - car feels no powah, driver dulan everyday, go road rage, life shorter. sad.gif

Unless after put performance filter, the driver so happy drive fast fast go bang wall (or tree), then all bets are off.  whistling.gif  whistling.gif

nvr encounter that. but man, u really need to remember to switch off the lights when the engine is not running.

This is 1 of the steps backward fr ole gen to new gen Sagas! sad.gif
Ole gen had a buzzer warning if ignition is turned off while lights are still on... thumbup.gif
So no fear of lights not switched off & thus drained batt dry!

Mayb a simple relay circuit connected to lights sys power supply & ignition circuit wld work similarly?

Can Bros in Electronics field pls mayb draw up such a circuit addition?
Tks in adv.

1. Rubber mounts ? .. Which part ? ..
2. Flood Waters - not really that much unless certain areas is flooded in the City / MRR2 | There is one day the mechanic took my disc brake and rub it on the floor after skimming the Disc rotors @ RM70 for 1 pair.
3. When Moving ..
4. Even if its warmed up the sound will be there as well ..  moving / idle also the same

Any idea ? unsure.gif
*
1. Bro Eric was suggesting an elimination process ie to eliminate noises caused by the rubber mounts of the shocks. Can try spray eg WD40.
Which part? Where rubber bushes are used to mount the shocks. tongue.gif
2. Since yr mech was involved, why not go back to him?
3. Need to locate source of sounds. Get fren/some1 with patience + good hearing to help.
4. If belt and also got when car stationary, easy to confirm : juz spray water onto it.
If sounds gone after spraying, then belt slipping. If not, probly tensioner needs changing.

Best wishes & good luck! icon_rolleyes.gif
