This V-torrent fighter is seriously shocking.gif overpriced at Rm 409.90. Even at RM 286.93 it still expensive with not that many features. For the other Legoes I think TRU must have ordered too many and the stock is moving too slowly and slowly being overtaken by the 09 sets. Speaking of 09 sets, saw the Power miners at TRU KLCC too, but at full RRP.

Some of the discounted ones look appealing, but already bought 1 Power Miner Lego last Thursday brows.gif

Here are some pictures of my Power Miner set: Thunder Driller!!

Again, Lego pack more air than Legoes in the box doh.gif Geez, the boxz could have been the size of the claw digger but oh well.
user posted image

The back of the box. As you can see, the greatest feature is the counter-rotating drill. The inner drill will spin in 1 direction while the outer drill will spin in the opposite direction. Comes with 2 miners and 1 rock monster.
user posted image

The content of the box:
1 nos of no. 1 bag
1 nos of no. 2 bag
4 nos of spiked tires (with gear teeth on the inside)
1 nos of unmarked bag
1 nos of instruction booklet 74 pages thick rclxub.gif
1 nos of sticker sheet
user posted image

Inside the manual, the other sets and rock monsters that come with the sets.
user posted image

A new tactic to get more sales: The alternate model is the combination of 2 different sets!!! So I should buy the 8958 to build my alternate model.
user posted image

A picture showing the gears and the drill bit of the set. One of the key pieces in the Power Miner series. Noticed the outer drill has teeth on the inside of the wheel? This is what we call a planetary gear and allows the counter-rotating feature of this set.
user posted image

Once completed, its time to mine!!! ..... Err, where did that rock monster come from!!!@#?> icon_question.gif shocking.gif
user posted image

Overall great set! It really looks like a heavy duty mining machine and comes with some engineering features like the counter-rotating drill.
