yup noobs should go fapfap with bike magazines 1st. simply mouthing off here is not gonna make you friends.
it is just Nissan GTR, not Skyline. and all those shows by natgeo and topgear not promo, what is?
anyway, that is pointless.
fork length and fork travel also dont know which is which. training wheels still on your trike want to about AM bike?
read a few more mags or go lepak at a bike shop more not at the naza showroom then come back, ok.

Is not wrong to get more opinion around. I didn't say proton is not a good car, is a car that lack of quality and reliability. Again that deepening on what you are looking at..you can even say your proton is better than Benz or BMW.

People that doesn't dare to take a change will always stay stagnant. But people who try to take the change, will gain experience.

At least I know I get better resale value compared to a Ford Fiesta...

Hi guys, could anyone recommend me a shop with decent stuff and decent pricing for MTB. Been out for 5 years and planning to step in again, and fall, and get injuries and might kill myself. But its just too addictive to let it go.

Would really appreciate it for some feedbacks. My budget for my new bike would be RM ~5000, excluding frame. Thanks

Wondering why no people use 150 travel ya? Is it other travel model got problem or is not something what Malaysian riders prefer?

Also some people told me that if your bike comes with 150 travel it is always advisable to maintain that travel length. If you match with extremely high travel, the bike frame might not be able to support the geometry change and will somehow crack the frame. Is it true?
Well, based on your answer I think you either are selfish person or you are simply shooting blank bullets. Which mean you know nothing about bike.

If I would to use your theory to judge a bike's performance, I don't think it really work. Proton advertise and buy write ups at lots of car magazine. Is proton a good car? Nissan skyline gtr hardly advertise or do any promotion..so the conclusion is this car is lousy?

If you know the fact of a certain pros and cons and you voice it out, I'll respect you. But if your comment are just stating design outdated, number very sueh, no magazine coverage & bla bla bla..you don't know much about bikes.

At least when I went to specialize the guys frankly told me they have no idea because the bike in Malaysia is pretty new.

When when I went to KSH at tmn tun, the guy named lim told me that meta am what that bike can deliver and what 214 can deliver. He give a very good example like BMW and Benz. Both are good car, it depends what you are looking for in terms of look and performance.

That is what I want to hear. Not some blank info that lead to no where. And sorry that if I've offended you with my words. I'm here to learn and explore. Not here to listen to blank facts.

chill....

who say no one use 150mm... a lot what... it boild down to what kind of riding u like. u dun use 203 for xc ride like wise 150mm depend on where u ride.

who say skyline no advertising... they spend even more advert than regular sedan car. just that they do a different kind of advertising..sponsoring motorsport team, car reviews and such are adverts as well.. dun get suck into thinking they dun spend on marketing. niche cars like these depend alot on adverts.

zesty 214 is lowest end of the zesty range... need to compare spec vs which Meta AM version u looking at.
the 214 fork, shock evolution series. not sure what series is that. and component make a lot of different to the bike. not just the frame design. go read reviews, reviews usually are good on their top end model. but the same range lowest end model usually fair very bad. dun fall into marketing plot.

also it depend on the price you getting also.... u mentioned u get good price for zesty...but the thing we dunno how much u getting and you not sharing... very hard to advise if the more expensive meta AM is actually more value for the better component it come with.

do some home work on ur end too. some bike frame is design to take a fix fork length, some can take a range. like nomad can take 160-180mm fork... depending on ur riding style. and also modern fork can have travel adjust... so it is not true to generalize bike must maintain the fork travel length.

sorry, i'm noob. i don't have money to buy bicycle magazines to fap. all i can do is walk around shops and ask them about it. basically i got to learn it the hard way. some shop will share with me their knowledge and some don't. which basically most of them won't as they think this is a waste of time.

also sorry that i don't know what is the different of fork length and travel.

which is why i'm here to learn..if this is not a suitable place to learn, i'll know what to do next.

i don't really care about resale value when i purchase anything including a car or a bike. all i want is the feel that the item they can provide to me. so far i can't really get the feel as most of the shop rarely offer me to test/ride on their bikes. so this is pretty hard for me to judge.

I wanna ride la but life gets the way! Wanted to ride today but my battery conked out last night so car in the workshop for maintenance , not bad lah my oem battery last nearly 3 years in my myvi. Now pocket kosong Liao, no money to even get fapping magazine but I lucky I sign up for MBA on iPad so cheap biggrin.gif
My go to pedal areMG1 . Light but not too cheap smile.gif but then I do only ride xc so 150mm fork is overkill for my style and frame. BN are done with Kiara hill, we can ride 7 speed foodie up to tokong too, assuming they let us in. Haha

"Components" term is too general.

Just like "I wan buy a car"

Questions like "what car?", "for what?", and many more....

In your case... would be what component? what usage? What is your main criteria?

Asking general questions is always get a general reply... worse not... a useless reply.
The more useless replies... the more frustration you will get... At the end... you blame us shooting blank.

Then... wan to justify.

Go specific!
First of all, we are not Gurus from Mayan family.
We are not Pro Riders from Santa Cruz.
We are not Pro Mechanic like Monkey Vasquez
We are just casual bikers. Our experiences came from our own bikes... friends around us... and internet browsing or yes... magazine readings.
One thing for sure... there is no one product that is best. Each will have pros and cons but depending on whether the pros fit you more or the cons fit you more.

So, again, ask specific questions.

Don't ask "Is KHS 29er" good or not?
Or "What bike I should buy?"

But there is always one thing for sure... "Choose the color you like" is the best and most important statement and decision you should use.
After all, it is you who are going to take care, share and enjoy with... not us. If you buy a bike that you don't fancy but just because others say good... you won't enjoy the sports at the end. Face the fact... we are human after all.
