just tell him to get a E353 or E372 if his budget permits, or the E398, (rm550, no warranty, import from China)

Check your MDMA first, see if your SIM card is capped to a lower speed at your area?

A few months ago can see 8mbps in KLCC around noon. Oddly enough, only today I bother to do another speedtest at my office after I read everything in this forum.

download MDMA @ Here

plug in your Huawei modem only into computer

close any other maxis dashboard/mobile partner dashboard

run the MDMA u download

and try to connect with your window mobile broadband section with NDIS connection

and u will see the Negotiated QoS downlink and uplink = sim capped speed

Just want to share another interesting finding. At Maxis centre KLCC, the 3G signal was -46dBm.

Quite insane. But the speed was quite expected at 7:45pm when most people already left home.

Uplink = 8640

So meaning that my speed has the potential to go higher if I use better modem?

Gmobile ~ One of the Modem supplier to Umobile

This guy is good, Trust me. And warranty is from TenTen Malaysia. The modem comes with MCMC/SKMM approval stickers and TenTen(M) stickers.
For once, i beg to differ, if you have tried E372 in your PJ's residence, you can say this.
I strongly believe if E353 gets you 11Mbps in PJ, E372 will get you atleast 18~20Mbps, ie; if your area is Dual Channel enabled. wanna bet ?
You are in the telco line, you can ask your ppl abt Dual Channel Technology.

Come on, i am not stupid to invest on a rm450 modem for nuts, i already own more than 30 modems (currently) in my stable of modems, and why i still buy this one and only DC Modem to test it out icon_idea.gif

Sorry if i offended anyone, but i believe its my duty to inform those uninformed.  smile.gif

Added on May 7, 2012, 8:53 amIts drizzling in my area now. Connection is poor, so is the signal, I am getting RSSI of -95dBm, as when its sunny i can get RSSI of abt -75dBm ( the lower -xxdBm, the stronger the signal)

modems do really make a difference, E372 = Dual Channel and UMG1831 = Single Channel
