Wee~!! New thread! xD

Btw, I've just gotten the latest adizero f50 runner 2 for the upcoming ENR2012. Completed around 5km and fairly satisfied with it in general. Lighter, firmer and gives me a faster feel compared to my heavier and cushy sequence 3. However there's one irritating area which is, my toe tends to overlap/ rubs the upper front part.

Could this mean that I need a larger size by half or any remedies like wearing more cushioning socks to reduce the irritation? But during try out with half a size larger, I've still much room for 1 finger+ behind when I pushed my feet with socks to the front thus, worried that it'll be too loose. While with current size, ngam ngam half/1 finger room. Dear sifus, please kindly advice. Thanks. smile.gif

what shoes brand should I choose? starter, wan to involve myself to run, budget rm300. i cant find authorize asics or new balance in Sibu. not sure if Lea Centre do carry them or not.
*
Lea Centre in Kuching do carry Asics but I can't recall seeing NB. Probably need to check it out on your side if they carry Asics too.
Btw, just my opinion that you could probably do with off season shoes on any brands which will be around your budget or less. Grab a pair which fits comfortably and you're set to run. Experience what running brings to you and enjoy the run. The longer you're into running and serious about it, the more your body/ leg will adapt and tell your needs, that's when you start to consider any changes in shoe types and other specifics. As a starter, keep running simple and, fun. smile.gif

lea in Riverside got some asics..but all outdated. all on discount btw.. tongue.gif Conelli in TheSpring also got a few...no discount, but eaqually outdated ones.. smile.gif
*
Haha..yea, been having a hard time looking for other running shoe brands here in Kuching besides Nike & Adidas. End up sticking with Adidas to date. sweat.gif But if not mistaken, Lea at Satok has updated Asics with Kayano 18 and DS Trainer 17 if I didn't recall wrongly. Just that price too high for me. But I've gotten my Adizero F50 2 there too while nowhere to be seen at the other branches, Sawarak Plaza and Riverside. Weird. I've even asked why the other branches doesn't have it but the store assistant didn't know how to answer. hehe. Now I'm counting the days to ENR2012!! Looking forward to it. biggrin.gif

guys, based on ur experience, between this 2 running shoes, which 1 is better for value? both r price at RM369-379, if can, pls review it

I havent try them yet because the shop was closing so I only manage to touch to feel it.
Nike Air Pegasus+ 28
New balance

It will b my 1st running shoes and I want to get the best out from my budget.

My leg profile is normal arch, and I mostly land with my heel 1st on normal walk so I really need cushion for my heel.
*
I've never tried the new balance but have tried on the pegasus 28 however, walking but not in running form so couldn't provide a clear conclusion and I'm not technically sound too. Based on my preference, I liked the cushioning, not too plush to my liking and the shoe really fits well..Feet feels comfortable and makes me feel like Nike's made for comfort but note that I've been only running between Nike and Adidas shoes for to date. sweat.gif

Can refer here for a review of Pegasus 28 & NB890 v2.

http://www.runningshoesguru.com/2012/02/new-balance-890-v2-running-shoes-review/

Anyway, do take the time and try them out at store to see how it fits and goes with your feet. smile.gif Just unfortunately no gait analysis thingy and specialized running store in Kuching so have to make do with trial and error which I myself experienced. cry.gif

thx for the links, when i touch pegasus, its feel like feather, so light n nice to touch all over, i will go to the shop later to try on my feet. I not buying juz for run but also for normal usage such as walking/casual shoes.

btw, mind to share the stories what trial n error hav u done?
*
Actually my trial and error is like buy the shoes first, see comfortable and like or not then see how it goes along the run, if not ngam then bopien need to change. That's when i first started out with running, that time still didn't know what is gait la, strike la, cushioning la, stability la etc technical terms because i started out running as simple as out of personal interest, fun and enjoy.

After running for like 2+ years, start to get serious in studying running, both through online and personal experience. Just last year I came to learn that I midfoot strike but still, have to agak agak my pronation is normal/ mild and thankfully, no running injuries till now after like trying on several shoes over the year. Pls, don't do this at home. brows.gif

So now like you at least know you heel strike then probably you'll eye those shoes with ample heel cushioning then at the same time try to change strike if possible because article said one, heel strike no good. brows.gif And untill you try it on and run yourself, you will not know what and how it's like.

Anyway, my thought is start simple, worry less, run freely and enjoy. smile.gif

yea i hav doin research a lots online, i keep googling how to choose a running shoes, come across lots of terms like pronation, arch, foot strike and all the above u had mention. u r rite, i should not worry much, should juz do trial and error so later time I can understand my foots better.
*
It's always good to have information/ knowledge first hand but too much would mean overloaded and will maybe spoil the fun of what you actually meant to enjoy..If there's a specialize store then recommended to consult the pros but if not, doing own research helps minimizes risks of mistake if not totally..But again, back when we started without all these, i'm guessing generally we started running as just simply, running... biggrin.gif

oic..so for any phone with A-GPS, just switch on the GPS satellite tracking and tats it?.. smile.gif it will track the distance?...i actually just need the distance and time.. smile.gif
*
But my phone hor, when turn on GPS, it keeps asking data packet to be turned on..i'm worried that it actually needs data plan so i don't dare on because I don't have data plan.. sweat.gif

" so for any phone with A-GPS, just switch on the GPS satellite tracking and tats it?..  it will track the distance?...i actually just need the distance and time.. "
*
Hmm..Sorry but I've no experience with using my phones GPS to track distances and pace..My experience with my GPS isn't that good too even locking it at static position, failed..and it keeps popping me to turn on my data packet which I initially thought it isn't needed.. doh.gif Maybe you can first find a free running/ distance or pace tracking GPS app for your phone then give it a try..Probably need to consult sifus having experience on this.. smile.gif

Pls read page 1 shoe categoris. basically u don't hv much choice with that budget.

I would recommend u buy Saucony Fastwitch 5 from CCube RM230 for a start, provided got ur size.

If u could up budget a bit, RM280, Kinvara 2 is a good choice, must size up 1 or .5 a bit from normal shoe.
*
Hi bro, may I know where to get Kinvara 2 for around that price of ~RM280?
Feel like giving it a try instead of the Kinvara 3 as it'll cost lesser and from reviews, the 2s are still looking great. smile.gif
