PROPOSAL FOR AN OFFICIAL FORUM FOR OUR HONDA HYBRIDS.

I do not have the knowledge to build an official forum.
I would like to suggest, whoever is capable to do this, I think is a good Idea to have an official forum for our honda hybrids to have a official forum. Insight, Jazz Hybrid and CRZ. All in one official Forums. This is a good way to communicates, discussion, trouble shoots and ETC...
Suggestion:

www.hybrids-ima.com.my
www.hondahybrid.com.my

What do you think?

That sounds like a good idea to me. At least something to bridge all the Honda hybrid users.

Btw there is no Civic hybrid thread in lowyat?

How do you get 4.x 1/100km? I'm at 5.4-5.8 usually in eco mode. I don't do sudden acceleration or braking. I drive around 60-70 in city area and 110-120 almost constant or in cruise mode. Is there any special tips to get the mileage lower. I couldn't archive the full crown from the car rating although my dashboard shows green most of the time.

Secondly from here i saw some one posted to charge your battery, put to Neutral and ram up to about 3000 rpm. Is that correct to do? I don't see this method in the manual or did i miss it out?
*
From my understanding, it will take some time to achieve the full crown. Its something like a lifetime achievement award for driving eco friendly for a long period of time.

I've heard of this before and I was told this is to charge the IMA battery for example if you dont drive the car at all for more than a week. Then again conventional petrol car will also need to be started at least once a week if the car is left without being driven for a long time. So i don't see any big issues with that.

Since its not in the manual so it could be just another hybrid myth? tongue.gif

the idea is good.. but when talk about contribution, i guess insight member is doing very well.
*
I guess coz the Insights owners are the Malaysian Honda mass hybrid pioneers hence the abundant experiences to share.. smile.gif

CRZ thread are more or less dead comparing to here.. tongue.gif

If u checked the pressure after a long drive in hot daytime then the reading is not so accurate due to air expansion in the tyres.

Usually its recommended to check/air refill tyre pressure in the morning or late evening. smile.gif

i felt "NON ECO" mode nicer to drive, but still leave it ON for normal driving

Added on May 18, 2012, 9:11 pmanybody realise that the back FOG light only on the right side?
*
Tried the econ mode on a busy highway, bad idea...felt like a sitting duck with all the cars zooming past me. I guess it will be useful only in traffic jams and city drive in the middle of KL.

Yep, realized that yesterday when we were doing the pre delivery car check up with the SA.

I asked her what is the third layer of the tailight for and she wasn't too sure and was looking for the switch. Finally I found out its the rear fog lamp and only the right side contain the light bulb but peeking thru the left side I can see that there is no hole but there's a circle outline.

Shouldn't be difficult to made a cut out on the left side tailight and add an additional bulb if you want to, we did that before for our 2004 Vios taillight, adding bulbs to the center panel.

Define your slippery incident. Your current tyre is micheline xm1. Good tyre.
*
That's it Energy XM1.. smile.gif

Slippery as in not much grip if I were to apply slight more throttle when accelerating out of sharp bends..

You are right, overall is a good tyre, comfort is there and road noise is very minimal.

It looked kinda metallic red in the brochure and caught my wife's eye bt in real life its solid but still sharp...hehe

Thanks bro smile.gif , my choice was lime green coz its kinda striking but wife wants the red

We also thought of changing the rims to black sports rim before the getting the car but now seems like the stock silver rim also looks quite nice with the red color.. Hehe

wow, red is attractive! still consider between, red, white or silver...

plan to get one after test drive session of jazz hybrid and Prius C..

currently got a cash rebate offer on hand, would anyone kind enough to share what is the promo package u got for ur jazz hybrid? thanks!
*
For Honda dealers, the package is more or less the same for the Jazz hybrid.. choose either cash rebates or free tinting,

Depending on the SA, some will throw in extras such as smart tag or full tank..etc

We opt for the security tint and receive a Honda umbrella and fridge magnets during delivery... tongue.gif

about 50 to 80km the warning light will "ON"  <-- my case

smile.gif, yep..total estimated range from the display add to be 649km in total.

Prius C looks quite good for the front bt kinda fail on the back and interior. Don't like the steering design as well.

thanks Bro.. i still cant make up my mind, should i book the car now or wait for the gomen to announce new perks for hybrid car buyers (may get income tax deduction, if the exemption can apply retrospectively, i wont wait !).

initially wanted a prius c, but after a test drive, the prius c engine sound while accelerating and the smaller cabin space just drive me away...

Added on May 21, 2012, 11:44 am
u mean half tank gv u 350km?  thumbup.gif
*
No problem to share info bro.. smile.gif

Looking at the current political scenario, most likely any new policy will be after the elections. I guess it could be retrospectively but maybe just 1 year?

According to my wife Jazz's engine grunt is quite loud as well when accelerating hard going up a steep slope.

Yep, space was also one of the main reason why we chose Jazz over Prius C. The boot space of Jazz is not bad considering that we can fit a baby walker, a light baby stroller and 2 grocery bags smile.gif

full tank ron 95 = estimated range 649km ?

one full tank how much ar ?
*
That's what the meter indicate but it could change depending on how you drive the car.

First fill up was around RM 68 for 35 liters after taking delivery of the car.

How much for subsequent fill up, maybe other earlier owners can advice you... smile.gif

Tested drive in PLUS highway when balik kampung, 9cents per km for 110kmj to 120kmj

For normal driving to work, it smash 10cents in average.

For me still cost saving abit hopefully the battery cost will reduce in future.
*
The SA told me currently the battery cost around RM7K and I forsee the price could be lower in the future if there are more and more hybrid users. smile.gif

Alright, confirmed our Jazz has that rear rattle sound when goin over bumpy surface. Didn't quite paying attention to it since I tend to play music quite loud in the car

ya another thing i notice when took deliver of new car ,  remember check the tyre pressure is at the right PSI , mine is @ 280 PSI for all 4 wheels ! , and i only realize it ystd , haizz now dunno got dmg the tyres or not, been driving for 3 weeks liao.

also notice the rattle sound seems to dampen abit , after adjust the pressure to 230/220, will ask honda service center see if they can do anything about it or not. .
*
Man, that is a whopping 40psi!.. lol, don't worry ler the tyres wont be damaged so long the pressure are not more than maximum permissible.

Don't think they can do anything about the rattling from the boot board

Don't confuse readers. U mean 230KPA and not PSI. standard psi pressure is 32 or 33 PSI.

IF 230 PSI, tire can't take that pressure.
*
Chill lar dude, not every one here is technical.. wink.gif

Am considering whether to get a Jazz Hybrid or a new FL honda city.

In terms of spacious and comfort of the ride what do u guys think? Put aside performance.
*
Can't comment much since never really sat in a 2010 City before but City FL boot space definitely bigger than Jazz.

Cabin space maybe Jazz is bigger.

Comfort should be more or less the same for both but expect City to have lower body roll.

I guess best way for you to find out is to test drive both cars.. smile.gif
