Hi,

I have a 2 weeks old 7 inch superhighback golden which i kept with 1 lampam.

My tank is 1 month old but has been completely cycled.

Its an old tank of 100 liter which i will upgrade later.

All water parameter are showing good sign.

PH 7
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 10 ppm

I give 2 meal per day with morning of 2 x SW feeds on carrot and 3 x SW with stuffed hikari food stick soaked in Azoo arowana vitamin ( the vitamin is a balanced stock for my died goldfish smile.gif i heard tetra aro vitamin is better )

My fish will take about 5 minutes circling each SW before consume it, as if it afraids that the SW will bite smile.gif

the fish did not accept MP yet and i did not want to starve it yet as it might stress the fish while the tank previously still cycle and register nitrite of 1ppm. ( now nitrite is 0 )

5 SW each day is that normal consumption for the fish at 7inch ?

Thanks

Added on September 11, 2012, 11:33 pmToday the fish only ate 2 x SW in the morning & 1 SW only in the evening
Now the tanks has fully cycled and all water parameter in good condition maybe I should starve it for few weeks and introduce MP and hikari pellets without being stuffed to SW.

My Aro when i purchased it has a few minor tore in its tail and caudal fin, within 2 weeks it has grows back.

I injected Azoo Arowana vitamin to my SW prior feeding twice a week, it could be the reason for the rapid healing.

Or it could be the SW Stuffed with Hikari food stick smile.gif

symmetrical?
it's probably the nerve receptors of the fish, treading from head to tail

I have not come across and sickness that causes such damage to the gill plate before.. if you ask me now, i will just says it is caused by knocking onto something and cut it (be it water outlet or the cabinet cover or the bracing etc etc).. but you mentioned also that the other side got the same damage.. This is what cracking my head.. it doesnt show any sign of rotting nor any parasite from the picture you showed us.. and my very 1st question to you, did this hole appear all on a sudden or did it gets bigger day by day.?

okay, i can quite sure it is not because of knocking coz the hole is getting bigger day by day. happen to be at the same place at both side left n right of the gill. aro seems okay, eating as usual. food habit is mostly MW and sometimes cricket. i was suspecting izzit becoz of the water as in lately i was quite busy so i do WC 2 weeks once. last time used to be 1 week once or about 10 days. i have tried some salt and heater, but seem do not help. WC also do not help. tongue.gif

If the holes is getting bigger day by day, my 1st solution for you is, try adding in vitamins.. could be vitamin deficiency.. if this doesnt help, come back for more solution(s) haha  whistling.gif
