I don't think Petronas will stop its exploration campaign. It may slow down, tapi tu lah kan stopping exploration campaign mean less revenue to Petronas & less money to the Govt coffer
Slowing down means that putting downstream operation on stake. Sapa nak feed those petchem/refinery/LNG plant nanti? Sakit woo.
Just my two cents. I might be wrong

Just talked to someone that I know (*ehem*), about
PETRONAS acquisition of Progress (Canada). As a senior staff, he don't see any intention slowdown of exploration activity. If there is a slowdown, it prolly due to lack of available gas (they are now developing marginal field as well).
Another key aspect of this acquisition is to boost the business and foreign asset value. We all know they can only sell gas "harvested" in Malaysia for half of the market price. Mana untung beb.

i agree, with current increased rig status thats under pcsb and on full swing exploration i doubt the number will go back down.slow maybe but not that slow.contract review is near too.
