Dear all, viva 1.0 standard owner here..

Would like to seek advice from you all.

Recently my car have this symptom.

1. Gear at D, brake pedal pressed, headlights on, the rpm dropped and engine vibrate terribly.
2. Reverse gear also similar condition.
3. Back to point no.1, but with headlights off, it idle normal.
4. Gear at P, headlights off, lock the car, the car dome light dimmed a bit with rpm drop slightly, then both back to normal.
5. Car still can start, but crank 3 4 times only able to start.
6. Battery still new, 1 year 4 months, yokohama brand.

Seems like any operations with the load of electricity, the engine load seems like affected, directly can notice on the rpm reading.

Hence, shall I start troubleshoot from the alternator first?

Any similar experience from our friends here?

Thanks.

My car also encounter this problem. The culprits are most likely the wires or sensors. Just search Viva low rpm in YouTube, you should get a couple of mechanic explaining the issue. Over time the wiring would corrode and putus either at the sensor connection or in the middle. For alternator you should check the symptom, do your radio somehow reset itself while driving? The battery light went on?

mine also similar case, irregular rpm idle.

saw few video at youtube, but does not helping.

called to Perodua SC,

they say viva memang ini macham, wiring and throttle body kaput.

quote me 2k for replacement.

500 for wiring set, 1500 for throttle body

hmm.gif

tried changed new spark plug, same.

last i have engine light on, then go diagnose obd scan, it says throttle body idle valve error, then replace it.

ok for awhile, but problems persist.

changed ficd switch, same.

service throttle body, same.

now suspecting ignition coil, not check yet.

any idea

Didn't know lowyat got perodua viva forum. Hahaha. My car got 3 issues.

1. My rpm meter is at 0. Although car starts up fine. Sometimes it works, sometimes it don't. Should I be worried? But this has been happening for like 2 or 3 years already. Still using the car, no probs so far. Lol.

2. Got engine light appear. And when I check under the hood it seems 2 cables putus. Haven't send to my mechanic to help me pasang. Haha. But I hope it's not a big problem. Been using this car for many years. Only starting 3 years ago I use it more often. Since got gf thst time. Lol. 🤣

3. My remote not working. Already change battery but when press the car doesn't lock or unlock. Resort to using key to lock and unlock unlock car. Haha. Any idea how to solve this?

1. no idea

2. normally cable putus if you can locate it accurately, but aged viva tend to have aged wiring, now considering changing whole set of new wiring works coz rpm fluctuate. ( throttle body serviced and idle valve sensor changed )

3. try buy new remote and reset, like wise 3rd party alarm system

Left 1 has higher filtration but less air flow. Right 1 has lower filtration but higher air flow...also it has higher lifespan and washable too.

Hi guys. So I had viva for 3 years and I didn't suspect that my viva engine shakes a lot(like a lot, its not even vibrations anymore). Even front tire were shaking in place during idle. So I thought it was normal for viva until I compared it with other viva's. I didn't miss a single maintenance and every maintenance was done at perodua sc. I argued about this with sc later on and they said that it was normal. I even showed 3 videos of 3 different viva with engine idling normally compared to my viva that i recorded myself. So they replaced the mounts(all 3). But the problem still persist and made no change.
Any suggestions?

How much perodua SC charged you for changing all the 3 mounts? Any other parts need to replace due to mount change?

Anyone know what are these marks? They are always at the same spot and cannot be wiped. Seems to be bigger everytime after driving. Is this aircond gas leak?

Bump!

Seems like this tered is dead, no one reply anymore?

Looking to buy one for dotter to drive in city, saw a few 850 convert from manual to auto, wondering how reliable is the conversion and common problems with the conversion.

Per the advert - lady owner, no accident before. Questions:-

1. I see the bonet paint faded - the rest of the car no faded paint. Front bumper different shade than mudguard and bonnet - really no accident before?

2. Front bumper got clips - lady owner will install this kind of accessories meh?

All those 'free accident lady owner's thing is BS and you know it. Hood (or Bonet) usually the thing fade fast because of engine heat. But still it wont be that much difference from other panel. Different shade of paint for sure is the major point of accident. And the bumper stock plastic clips/screw usually broken easily over the years thus people install that clip. But I don't install it for both mine and my wife. I just use internal zip ties lol. Why I don't install it? That clip can corrode and produce more problems

I do agree the lady owner and accident free thing is BS, also wanted to confirm here to see if the bonet paint fading is common to Vivas. The bumper clip breaking is something I didn't know is common.

P2 cars, at least those from early 2000s have clear coating on top of the paint. I had an accident on a P2 car that needed the bonet to be knocked and repainted (thus the propective coating was stripped), and another time the boot also repainted when kena rear ended - that bonet's paint is the first panel of the car to fade, followed by the boot cover's paint, much earlier than the other panels (even the engine bay side panels didn't fade until years later).

Now that you mentioned engine heat, that may be a contributor but my suspicion is that the removal of the clear coat due to accident repainting (& the cheapo insurance approved workshop that skimped on it) + external bumper clips to hold the bumper is a red flag that the car had an accident where the panel faded.
