QUOTE(Joey Christensen @ Jun 12 2012, 02:54 AM) I nailed a Bronze trophy for Malaysia in this track: Motegi Twin course. I got 39 gold so far. 1 silverTotal Gold: 38 Total Silver: 1 (Round 8-4) The track where I need to overtake 5 cars in total. I overtook 4 cars only. Sigh...The problem is the up-hill slope + cones. Difference time of a mere 0:00:238 Arghhhhhhhhhhh! Total Bronze: 1 (Round 8-5) I guess I need a few more runs on Motegi Twin. I think the 370Z is a bit slippery on the back. Almost every corners I need to adjust the "wriggles" on the back of the car. LOLZ! Really funny car. I'll upload the pictures tomorrow morning. It's already late night/early morning. 8-4 You don't need to overtake all cars. I'm in 3rd and also Gold it. My tips: Traction Off, ABS=1, Steering=7, the rest default. From start, max all the way, overtake white car, and try keep as right as possible to the pit-lane backwall. Brake when in middle of red line, turn sharp right, straight accelerate. Bear in mind, the car will slide easily, throttle control to get the launch effect without red-tyres. The car will easily go uphill, then immediate turn left smoothly also. Don't drift. Sometimes can get good line, and right after the uphill before the right corner, should be following very close to the blue car (draft it). Turn right and immediate overtake blue car, then draft red car partially (may not need to do this also) and overtake on the long straight. Immediate brake on straight line (follow driving aid). Turn smoothly and should be following directly behind yellow car. Sometimes you may able to overtake it. Just drive smoothly on the S-corner, power out from the last curve, and Gold. 8-5 I'm using same setup as above. Initial bronze at 1:38+ After 20+ tries (including out of track and hit cone), manage to silver at 1:36.5 For a moment, I'm at #9 of the online ranking I still need to squeeze half a second to gold it. Gonna try again later tonight. I think as stated by GTA, need to control throttle power, and I'm using DS3. Drift (red tyres) will slow down the car considerably, especially when powering out from corner. |

QUOTE(Joey Christensen @ Jun 12 2012, 07:54 PM) I was in 2nd place and yet I only can get a Silver out from it. 8-4 = I guess the important point is not to skid/drift (red-tyres).I lost it how i launched my self through the up-hill slope. The first white car is easy to over take. My experience... i. Overtook white car (first car) on the left. ii. Cut near to the left cones and hopefully not getting slippery and proceed cut to the right, near the cones. iii. Based on my best time record, once I'm on the flat I'll draft a quick few seconds on the blue car (second car). iv. Turn right over take the blue car + red car (I didn't bother to draft the red car. LOLZ!) v. Hit brakes a bit late on the straight, tap that yellow car from the right (turn in right corner) I did slightly bump onto the yellow car side but not DQ. vi. Overtook yellow car but couldn't overtake the last car. It's pretty much near the finishing line after I nailed that yellow car. I thought I got Gold and I got really pissed off with a ~!@#$%^&* 0:00:238! Damn it! I nearly threw my controller. NEARLY! Eh, how come you in 3rd place but managed to get Gold? I tried a few times and even on 3rd place, I only can get Silver. Anyway, to summarise the whole ordeal, I had trouble getting up the hill with the left-right small corners. If I can nailed that on a consistent manner, I think I can get Gold for this challenge. I left my data cable in the office, since I was off day today I couldn't upload the pics. Going to do it tomorrow. Haha! Time to go for dinner! (ii) Turn left smoothly. And align straight with red-line driving aid. It's just a split second thing. (iii) Turn right max and release to align straight go uphill. Press accelerator 100% and don't ever release. Before reach uphill, start turn left. The car will drift (without red-tyres) to the right (on this left turn) due to momentum, and you will get a smooth left turn at top-hill. (iv) I manage to overtake blue car on the right-corner itself, even before the exit apex. Once straight up, already start to overtake red car. Base on my latest fastest test (on other account). (v) I hit brakes as per driving aid braking line on the long straight, as I want to turn early (with momentum) and smoothly into the S corner. Tap on accelerator, brake again for the middle turn. Then accelerate again, this time I manage to overtake the yellow car (2nd). (vi) Brake again and smoothly (control throttle). Once reach apex, fully throttle out 100%, use the left kerb maximum. Gold does not need 1st. For 8-4, just need err... forgot time, under 38 seconds ? |

QUOTE(moon* @ Jun 13 2012, 08:02 AM) alien Gold 8-5 yesterday i cannot gold 8-5! tips? This time I leave everything default. TC=7 ABS=1 DS3 Steering=7 I'm the old-school kind, using X and square. Not L2/R2. My non-alien tips, just sharing: - Use driving aid : driving line = on - Power down the straight. Brake accordingly in straight line only and once release, turn right sharply. Release turning. Throttle control (tap and release, then tap longer and release, then press and hold). You need to practise on different corners whether to do 1-3x tap-and-release). Remember, no skid/drift with red-tyres. - 2nd corner, turn right, I brake slightly earlier, then turn and the car will slide (without red-tyres) and you can throttle. - On that S-corner. Release throttle/tap brake then power again. - Last 2-corner on S, I brake early, again turn right and full throttle control and turn left back to the straight. - Follow braking line again for the sharp ^ turn. Throttle control again to get out from corner apex. Find your own apex, I didn't really use the driving line apex. - Accelerate full on the right turn, until the short-straight. - This one I do late brake. Then release brake, sharp turn left. Tyre skid (no red), Throttle control left and I'm on left side. Just nice... - For the next right-corner, tap brake. Again, throttle full out from apex, towards the left side, use kerb slightly, don't hit cone. - Power down the short straight, keep right. This time also late brake, but slightly only. Brake in straight line, it stop faster. - Release brake, sharp turn left, no throttle. - Once line in sight, full throttle control again to get out from corner. I did not use the inner kerb / apex. - 2nd last straight, I also late brake very slightly into the corner. Skid a bit (no red). - Power out from last corner, again, throttle control. No red. This is important, as I manage to cut 0.5 seconds if power out correctly without the car swing left/right. If throttle control done well, every corner can cut 0.1-0.3 seconds. I manage to do it in 1:35.3x in my other account. This account is 1:35.9x Gold need 1:36.000 QUOTE(evoHahn @ Jun 13 2012, 09:21 AM) no lah. JYLEE is faster than me by 4 seconds but i'm currently no.6 in SG rankings LOL. JYLee really alien The best way to gold that round is to treat the car like it was on comfort tires, no late brakings & progressive throttle inputs out of the corners. 2nd is 1.34.x I'm 1.35.9 QUOTE(evoHahn @ Jun 13 2012, 09:21 AM) no lah. JYLEE is faster than me by 4 seconds but i'm currently no.6 in SG rankings LOL. Yeah. Saw your name in SG PSN 1.35.x The best way to gold that round is to treat the car like it was on comfort tires, no late brakings & progressive throttle inputs out of the corners. Agree, throttle control without skid/drift or red-tyres is very important. |

Non-alien tips for latest TT
- Sarthe 700pp - Grand Valley 600pp For n00b, use Chaparral 2J, tune down to 600pp (trans at 300km/h) and my max at 684pp (trans at 380km/h) TC=1 (put higher if can't control car slide) Can win by 20-30 seconds. |

New OCD - Audi
I go bankrupt to replace all R8 with zero mileage New seasonal A-spec 530pp 4WD. It's not that difficult if use 530pp. So far tried lowest 440pp on Sarthe and still win by 10+ seconds. Tonight going to lower it to 420-425pp Tips: Cut all corners for n00b newbie |

QUOTE(cute_boboi @ Jul 6 2012, 02:39 PM) The latest online special A-spec F1 2007/2010 cars , too fast for me to handle at Nurb-ring Ok, finally gold all 5 for F1 2007/2010 cars.So far manage non-alien n00b #7 only Any tips ? BTW, OCD is updated as well. Audi gone. Now is Italian Pagani & Lancia + Isuzu I used F2007. n00b tuning: All default 350km/h aero downforce set maximum 150/200 for both nurb and last kart track. The rest of track downforce I set lower between F:100-130 / R:130-180 range. LSD I think default 7/35/15 engine detune down until PP=871 (or lower for performance bonus) suspension default. TC=1 Skid=On the rest all Off ABS=1 With the setting above, will hit top speed limitation at nurb long straight. But easier to control on all the corners. Won by 0.5 seconds only. But you still need to be slightly familiar with the nurb ring and don't follow all driving line aids. Find your own, for early/late braking. Otherwise, sure slide out somewhere. For Indy course, the lowest I tried is 410PP |

But I think this is easier than the previous (few weeks ago) using Nissan GT-R ? (forgot) which don't allow make mistake of going out of track or bang wall. |

QUOTE(BobThe Builder @ Jul 12 2012, 07:41 PM) Guys, So far I not yet collect my Leaf, I got 2x in gift box now.If I don't claim the first car (Leaf) in Academy within the given time, will it carry forward to the next round? I mean, can i just wait to get all cars, then claim them at once? I assume it will be in our gift "inbox" until we receive/download it into a car ticket. Tips for the latest TT: 350PP for K-cars. Make sure use Turbo-3, tune down engine. |

QUOTE(Invince_Z @ Jul 30 2012, 07:04 PM) the whole ps3 system corrupted...just because it took farking 30+ mins for GT5 to response to any input after race and i force shutdown ps3. i think GT5 was trying to save, but it can't and stuck somewhere. the lesson is to never switch off ps3 during save...and to backup regularly. I encounter this few times already with GT5. Hang / No response for >2 minutes, and no HDD activity (the orange blinking light on fat-PS3).What I do is, press the PS button, quit the game. Then start the game again. I've also straight press PS button, and scroll to shutdown without quitting the game. No problem also. Never force shutdown before by flipping the switch. Also, I have USB sticks to backup once I've passed certain difficult levels/stages, and do it at least once a week. Once every 1-2 months, I will do system backup into another USB HDD. |

Replaying it with a new account (2nd time) seems much easier.
Gold all license test took 1/2 or 1/3 the total time only. But I still not yet gold both the slalom |

QUOTE(katnl @ Jul 31 2012, 05:24 PM) yeah, the slalom tests can be annoying. first one was relatively easy, the one with the FT concept is a serious pain. that thing understeers and is so twitchy, any slight movement sends you into a cone. I give up on slalom already. QUOTE(Invince_Z @ Jul 31 2012, 05:53 PM) yup..should have done that. I just grind 7 million credits and got my fastest time on nurburgring and felt it is a waste if I quit just like that. silly me...now all progress is gone I notice, for those online challenge, as long as exit from racing, and it sync-ed online, no need go back GT5 menu (quit / shutdown), the rewards are given out the next time you enter into the same online menu again.the lesson price is >9000!! thank man. i wanna try grab those files by converting ps3 hdd to external. hope i could get them back. the saddest thing is I lost the mclaren f1 lm which i tune so hard to fit on nurburgring....and also the calsonic gtr..which i love so much. I also scare HDD/OS crashed, that's why practise constant backup regularly. Imagine the time spend on all those races and endurance. Also b-spec grinding. Left the last 24-hours Nurb to do only. Need to spread out to 3 days, perhaps this coming Raya holiday. |

Because i have two extra (copies) ticket since i played GT Academy on three separate accounts. I played on 2 accounts What I do is share car online using one of the account, hence keep the other ticket in mint 0/0/0 condition |
