You start off with 20,000 Credits called CR.
Normally start off with A-Spec beginner: sunday cup, etc. Therefore, just get any cheap car from Used Car Dealer (UCD) to start going. Try goto Tuning workshop to upgrade highest parts/performance.
If you want to make fast money, goto Online A-Spec races (forgot the button name).

From there, you need to goto OCD (Online), NCD (New) and UCD (Used) to keep buying cars for your collection.

RM100+ for a Spec II disc, is just a ticket to start the game. Can't even buy a set of R/S tyres

There are many versions of Move in the game. Some are in UCD, some in NCD (not sure for this Move model).
UCD refresh now and then, google up on how to manual-refresh UCD.

OCD refresh every 2-6 weeks on average.

If you can't find the car you want, either you:
(i) race other stuff first
(ii) keep manual-refresh UCD
(iii) choose other cars

Escudo is over-rated in previous GT, you'll be disappointed with it in current GT5
It's quite rare, after >1 year playing and roll over 2,000+ GT days (6 cars per day), I've only seen it twice.

Step on accelerator from start, do not release or brake. Use drafting to follow behind it from start. Just barge through on the right side, when taking one the right corner. You'll know this corner, as if you do not release/brake, you'll go off-course. If done well, you can use the #2 car on left without DQ.

For car #1, keep drafting it. I remember also on one of the right-corner, use same technique.
I think I won by >1.5 seconds of gold.

Me non-alien, for Silvia, using default settings, all off, except TC=2. Easier to handle for me.

I also encounter dc after done Chamonix snow. So hard for me, non-alien, to gold it
I keep press retry/connect in PS3 and reboot modem & AP. Finally manage to upload

TT and Drift always come in pair of two each. The next update should be another A or B spec online racing.




Anyway, yesterday start to try out the online remote racing (non managed). This is what I notice:

(1) It does not matter your driver level, my driver list are from level 0-40.
A 0-level driver, can keep up with a level 30+ driver and sometimes even overtake it.
A level 37-40 driver, can't keep up with a level 23-27 driver, which pulled away

(2) It does not matter even if your driver is degraded. My level 40 degraded but very experienced driver, can keep up with another level 40 but with 20+ race experience only.

(3) It does not matter the arrow indicator mood is blue/green/orange.
Very little impact.

(4) The type/model of car matters.
Audi R8 pawns all in Madrid. A level 23-25 driver from grid #10, can push all the way to #1 and #2 within 2 laps.
Several drivers level 37-40, can't even keep up, even in ABT TT-R or Opel touring car. Some manage #3-4. Some level 37-40 are worse, fall back to #7-10, over-taken by level 23-27
It all depends on luck if the driver gets assign a powerful car.

For Cape Ring, Dome Concept Zero pawns all.
My level 40 driver in last place, can't even overtake the 2nd last driver, for the entire 12-laps race.

For Nurb/F, AC 427 S/C '66 (?) pawns all.

For Daytona, it's quite balanced with same power cars

For Indy, good if you get Toyota 88C-V Minolta, Bentley Speed 8.
Mazda 787 is just good enough to follow the first-pack, can't take 1st.
BMW LMR V12 falls off into 2nd or 3rd pack

Tsukuba, not yet full study. The GT40 is good on corners. The GT-by-Citroen is lousy on corners.

IMHO, remote racing is just good to get some CR. It's not realistic enough to simulate based on driver-level.

I notice it won't affect the stats count/race win. Only give you extra CR and some XP.

I think I shared out 3 drivers, level 37, 38, 40.

Yes, download the add-on enabler from PSN Store, called GT5 Family Pack (Free) or something similiar.
Note that there is limitation on it, read properly the fine-prints.

Can't view video, but I suspect the shortcut at Chamonix snow corner there, can climb the "kerb" plateau...

Laguna Seca = yes, possible. I think as long don't slide back out to main track. I didn't do that though. I only use the pit lane on the main straight when it is curving to left, otherwise sure go off-course to right side.

I have a >90% hot driver, level 18 only. What I did is:
- use Soft Sport tyres, cancel all pitting during race.
- Use any Honda NSX. I tried on Mobil 1 NSX, Takata Dome '06 NSX
- Upgrade to Stage 2 Turbo = 594-596 PP
- Transmission tune down to 320-330.
- Then change the aero-downforce to 38-63 , or whatever number to balance up until PP=600
- RACE !

Lap 1:
Push the driver to overtake or speed up all the way. By end of lap 1, you should be in position 6-9.
Many cars will pit, and you will go up to position 4-6.

Lap 2:
Keep pushing at max red-hot level, until overtake the first car. Then pace normal at 60-80% at a 3-5 seconds distance. You don't need to push max, as level 18 driver skills still not good.

Lap 3:
The drivers will catch up if your driver is low level like this one. This is where you need to maintain 80%-100% at the first half of the lap.
After the Carousel, there are a few corners you can go wide, before you reach the long straight. Maintain it at 50-70%.
One important point is, don't let them tail you, for the drafting effect. Keep a slight distance.
Once reach long straight, push max to 100% all the way.
Can win by 2-10 seconds.

My driver jump from level 18 -> 28 with 200%

For several other drivers at level 37-38, I use Racing Hard to start.
- Then pit for Intermediate for the remaining two laps, or
- Just keep driving using Racing Hard.

Push 9 9 all the way. 3rd lap after Carousel still go wide at certain corners. Intermediate tyre degrade very fast when wetness <20%.
Can win by 30-40 seconds.

Downloaded the 2.06 GT5 update 475MB in ~2 hours

Mine is tmnUt 1MB streamyx line only sien.

Few weeks ago download 3GB GT Academy was like ... Zzzzzz...

Also previous GT5 earlier updates (v1.0x) was like 800MB+ each

New A-Spec , I use Golf MK5 GTI at 400pp for Tsukuba. I think can even lower it to 390pp for my n00b skill. Got extra 272k for lower pp.

Daytona, cannot I use max 430pp

Then I jump to the last one, what go-kart track? Also use 430pp, but won by last lap, since the track is short, even though 7 laps.

Then SS-R5 night race. Also leave it at 430pp (Already 18M credits, nothing to do) ... Bang wall twice, but still manage to get first on 2nd last corner of last lap.

Cape Ring - leave it at 430pp. Easy. Can get 1st by 3rd lap at the ring. I guess can tune it down to 400pp to try again.

Tonight will try with another login. I think the car I choose may not be the best, but still works though.

Also, OCD is updated. Vertigo race car at 2M CR.

Yeah, GTA is quite easy, just need <20 tries even for the most difficult one so far. Using DS3 only.

GT5 License Test is tough, especially iB, iC, licenses. The one/two lap license are easy.
Still 1 more can't gold slalom.
I still recall one of the license test, took me >6 hours to gold it. At that time, it was very sensitive towards touching opponent cars and walls.
Recent test with another login, the DQ was relaxed and took me <15 minutes to gold it.

I use bumper-view. Full screen.

Why was it reseted ?

Side bang will DQ also. But most of the time, I notice if side-bang while let go gas, the chances of DQ is lower.

The technique is not necessary to follow the racing line or braking line. Trial & error a bit on your own. Sometimes no need brake, just let go, or still can push.

Once you get the feel of the car, you know how it behave, slide, etc. Then you can start to find your own line and easier to overtake AI cars.

Also, try to draft AI as much as possible.
