9.6% return?  shocking.gif

sorry lucifah, i tried seacrhing this thread but couldnt find your explanation? do you mind pointing to me the post where this was discussed or wic page was it on? would really appreciate it.. thanks
*
my bad. it was in a PM message that i discussed with a fellow forumer

i call this the ASB & AS1M leveraging

QUOTE
Assume:

1. ASB dividend: 8%
2. AS1M dividend: 6.6%
3. You already have RM100k in your ASB acc

A. Place the RM100k into AS1M: earn 6.6%
B. Place the loaned RM100k into ASB: earn 8.0%
C. Interest for loan: BLR - 1.6% = 5.0%

Effective dividend on the RM 100k (leveraged): 6.6% + 8.0% - 5.0% = 9.6%
of course this is just a simple calculations and there is also the risk of BLR increase any time w/o warning by BNM

there's also insurances to be paid for the loan that you'd need to consider

and also the monthly repayment that you need to discipline yourself to commit each month, or else, penalty may apply, and they may decrease the BLIR - 1.65% is you have bad repayment record

QUOTE(hyelbaine @ Aug 6 2013, 11:36 PM)
A chairman that has no executive powers have no say and is normally there as an ambassador than anything else. The key positions would be the CEO, CIO or the fund managers, basically those with executive orders. These are the people responsible for a fund's performance.

With regards to the passbook update thingy, I think they're just towing the line of the personal data protection act or PDPA. As a poster had said earlier, banks are already following so I guess it's PNB's turn
*
hopefully they'll follow bank's method of allowing a 3rd party to update the book by means of authorization or indemnity letter

And 1 more Question, in maybank2u, if I want to invest, I need to go through ASNB payment? Abit confuse here coz I thought ASNB payment are for those who applied ASB loan(I don't take ASB loan).

[attachmentid=3578892]

Sorry for the stupid question
*
yes. u need to register first, then wait for it to be approved

How to achieve RM100k in 5 years? How many $ per monthly that I should invest?
*
If you invest 1,500 monthly, assuming dividend is at 8%, by year 6 you will have 100k. by Year 9 (November) you will have 200k

Just to add: "And yes, I’m a bumi and ASB only limited for bumi people in Malaysia."

Apparently, if you married a bumiputra, and convert to Islam, you are entitled to ASB too

If u marry a non Muslim bumi u can't eligible to invest in ASB, but if u marry a Muslim Bumi then different story.
Out of topic a little.

-your parent invest on you or they invest on them? Do you have account b4 that?
-how old are you
-have income or want to loan?

I don't know how if you have a joint account with your parent, can phone to ASNB actually, they will answer it smile.gif
*
there is no joint account for ASB

only the TING TING red book need a guardian if you want to w/draw the money. if you >18yrs old, they'll upgrade you to blue book.

Hey guys/gals, if i have 5k with me, i can just go to any CIMB branch and put in the money to my ASW2020 account? I heard they need to check for the availability right? If its easy to just deposit the money, i plan to deposit 1k every month for the upcoming months
*
if you are a bumiputra, no problem.
