I can't wait for this.
Probably an instant buy for me. Requires you to be online all the time is a turn off though. |

Seriously, always online and cloud save. Did EA missed the memo from Ubisoft and Blizzard that always online doesnt work?
I was looking forward to this, but when i saw always online, then, i was really put off. I'll be playing Anno 2070 then, at least they backtracked from their always online crap half way. You still need internet connection to get all your Ark bonuses. |

![]() ... On the other hand, I really dislike that visual style, too cartoonish. There is no way you going to achieve the beauty of SC4 with that graphic. My old SC4 stuff: http://dlgaming.minus.com/mbbrWWw1RAaxNj |

Please support original. If you can afford a decent PC, you can afford some originals. No one is asking you to buy every game on day 1. |

QUOTE(DotaGamer @ Jan 3 2013, 02:40 PM) the best city building game i ever seen, I treat SC4 as a... landscape planner more than a game. i still couldn't find a city building game that can beat the gameplay of simcity 4 If I go learn how to use that SC4 renderer (forgot what's it name), I can just model house/item on Sketchup and throw it into the game... So here's a serious, VERY serious issue- how mod-able will this new SC be? The amount of user-generated resources on SC4 are just... insane. On top of that, this new game will be fully online, how they going to deliver and sync the mods? I sense there will be a lot of string pulling my leg. QUOTE(M1X @ Jan 3 2013, 03:18 PM) I treat SC4 as a... landscape planner more than a game. From what i had found, no modding for the new Sim City. If you want new buildings or features, buy EA's well priced DLCs.If I go learn how to use that SC4 renderer (forgot what's it name), I can just model house/item on Sketchup and throw it into the game... After what happened with Diablo 3's awful always online system and also how bad were Ubisoft's always online systems, i wont be buying this game, knowing that this will not turn out well on release too. EA has one of the worst server stability among other devs, as i heard rumors that they used a lot of those cheap low performance servers to run their games, which result a lot of down time and low stability. *off topic, but... *
SC4 forever! But I just got stunned by this pic: http://www.simcity.cn/viewthread.php?tid=8...ge=1#pid1335902 ... Oh, to add more salt to the wound: No Terraforming QUOTE Mkareha: Will there be terraforming in the sense of a "god mode" like there was in SimCity 4? Creative Director Ocean Quigley: No, all of the terraforming in this SimCity is going to be at the civil engineering scale, and will be the natural consequences of laying out roads, developing zones, and plopping buildings. sos:; http://www.simcity.com/en_US/blog/article/...ws-Maxis-Part-2 Still in office, I read the whole thing later at home... I wannit. I really wannit. I SO BLOODY WANNIT. But then, EA insists on putting the bloody DRM for a singleplayer game to make it something like a larger Three Towns. More so, with Origin. So, screw that and screw you to EA

SimCity beta’s EULA contains EA wide ban clause for unreported bugs
QUOTE EA’s overzealous lawyers are at it again! Did you sign up for the upcoming SimCity beta? If so, did you read its giant EULA? Every last dry, boring, legally-binding word of it? No, me neither. Fortunately, SideQuesting spotted a tweet from Twisted Pixel’s Dan Teasdale, pointing out a clause in the agreement that could result in a full EA ban for not reporting bugs. Section 6.2 of the SimCity beta EULA states: “It is understood and agreed that, as part of your participation in the Beta Program, it is your responsibility to report all known bugs, abuse of ‘bugs’, ‘undocumented features’ or other defects and problems related to the Game and Beta Software to EA as soon as they are found (“Bugs”). If you know about a Bug or have heard about a Bug and fail to report the Bug to EA, we reserve the right to treat you no differently from someone who abuses the Bug. You acknowledge that EA reserve the right to lock anyone caught abusing a Bug out of all EA products.” Essentially: If you know or have heard of a bug, but don’t report it, EA can treat that as “abusing” the bug. EA can ban people who abuse bugs. Therefore, EA can ban people who know or have heard of a bug. It’s important to note that that’s “can” and not “will”. Similarly mad EULA powers were agreed to for the Battlefield 3 beta, but no-one was banned for a missing bug report. For one thing, it’s got to be a nightmare to enforce. “I’m sorry, sir, but our records indicate you overheard details of a crash-to-desktop while out shopping. Now you can’t play Mass Effect 3.” But while the clause is openly ridiculous beta back-covering, and unlikely to result in any action being taken, it’s absurd that the option is even on the table. Sure, beta tests should be about bug reports and game testing, but that’s rarely how they’re promoted by large publishers. That’s certainly true of SimCity’s beta – essentially an exclusive timed demo that doubles up as an online-server stress test PCG |
