QUOTE(Malformed @ May 14 2012, 07:25 PM) Just got home, searched all the unused chargers / adapters I have... most of it have input 220 / 230v but the output varies. I have output of the following DC 12V 250mA 12V~1A 9VAC 800mA How do I know which is the strongest? this is the flow chart from weakest to strongest... 250mA-->500mA-->800mA-->1A

QUOTE(Malformed @ May 15 2012, 10:09 AM) I haven't buy the fan, just searched the adapters in my room last night. I will play around this... I have a question, how do you know that 12V~1A is AC or DC? From the 3 adapters that I have, I know the first and third since it's written there DC 12V 250mA and 9V AC 800mA Added on May 15, 2012, 10:11 amWhat is the output of your adapter and the input of your fan? Can't wait to DIY the fan and see the temperature drop to see what plants I can play with Difference between AC & DC <--- read this up to understand... ^^ Added on May 15, 2012, 10:17 amQUOTE(Malformed @ May 15 2012, 10:09 AM) What is the output of your adapter and the input of your fan? as shown in the pic, adapter output is 500mA. then the 2 wire just connect to the fan wires... ^^ This post has been edited by melodyworm: May 15 2012, 10:17 AM

QUOTE(Malformed @ May 15 2012, 10:24 AM) I don't have good eyes, can't see it! Yesterday I went to a computer shop and they were selling fans, but I do not know how to see how good is a fan. Is it the rpm? rpm means rotation per minute, as in how fast can the fan spin in a minute. IMHO, any cheap cheap fan will be more than enough already. dunnit so canggih fan.

QUOTE(Malformed @ May 15 2012, 10:30 AM) When I look at things, I tend to look at the expensive ones, but then when I check my budget again, the product will slowly drop in price too I was checking this link and it mentions RPM, ranging from 2400 to 4500. Can I know how much RPM are the fans sifus here are using? Or its not a primary concern honestly... i dunno hahahaha. just simply cabut fan from pc and connect to adapter and voila! aquarium fan~! lol! dun even noe hw much rpm also lol

QUOTE(sang gemok @ May 15 2012, 12:10 PM) hehehe. what conductor that can make the water to decrease it's degree celcius when a fan concentrated to the conductor. any idea? means that the conductor touch with the water. this will prevent from water hydrating. don't think of keep the temp to 24c. 26-28 is good enough. the main achievement is minor water hydrates. this is better. isn't it? hmmm... dont think its possible... normally conductors main purpose is to try to bring hot temperature to room temperature. but if u wanna bring room temperature down to cooler temperature dont think it will work, u can experiment tho who knows maybe im wrong? XD u also add in another risk in ur aquarium when u add in unknown metal conductors into ur tank as they might rust or have foreign poison in them...
