My modem shows that my line is still capped. Lol... just have to wait...
Oh, my modem's firmware can be flashed to ADSL2. But the firmware is for Russia. |

I thought ADSL2 speeds can be in the region of 20mbit+. Isnt that the speed ISP's in France and UK are offering?

QUOTE(skincladalien @ Dec 5 2005, 09:49 PM) hey, streamyx is just ADSL-lite and you are talking about ADSL2 adi? There's no different between ADSL Lite and ADSL. ADSL Lite = Low bit rate ADSL. TM is testing ADSL2 but its not affordable for home user.lets hope they will just release the full ADSL in not so far future... |

I am afraid you are not getting the speed you paid for.Acceptable speed for a 512kbps package must at least be about 70% i.e around 360kbps and above. From your test, you are only getting half of what you paid for i.e 267kbps (DS) |

5km limit for adsl 1 is the maximum distance for you to get full adsl 1 speed, somewhere between 8 to 12m download, but if you apply for a lower package, something like 384 or 512kD package, adsl 1 can maybe afford distance up to 7km,but because the result is so much not able to guaranted, most isp will avoid offer it to this distance custumer,so the isp not being suied by offer lie speed.

QUOTE(Ngto @ Dec 14 2005, 07:05 PM) I am afraid you are not getting the speed you paid for. Some time i can get 350 kbps ++ sometime lower than that...hard to say actually coz i suspect my phone line a little bit old... anyway even i get around 267kbps but when i download such as using bitcomet, my total download are around 50 - 62 kbps.Acceptable speed for a 512kbps package must at least be about 70% i.e around 360kbps and above. From your test, you are only getting half of what you paid for i.e 267kbps (DS) Cheers.... |
