This letter was sent out in November/December last year. If you did not receive it, it most likely means you never will.

Today I wanted to redeem my Treats Points for Harvey Norman cash vouchers and get a Samsung Galaxy 8.9 android Tablet. However ended up get an Apple iPad2 for RM1,199. Yes, iPad prices have dropped in Malaysia. Too bad HV no more stock for the iPad2 so went to Machines and they have the iPad2 in stock. Since I use my MBB 2 AMEX often, my wife paid for the iPad2 with her own Principal MBB 2 AMEX so that I get RM50 cash back. Last month, also used my wife's MBB 2 AMEX to get a Philips Air Fryer and also saved us RM50 smile.gif

So I get to save RM100/month since both my wife and me have our own Principal MBB 2 Cards smile.gif

Hi, I notice that Maybank2Kard Travel Insurance exclude the claim in respect of flight delay/missed connection, luggage delay/loss (as highlighted in red above) if the Covered Person's is in his/her Country of Residence.

From my understanding, if someone (Malaysian) wants to travel to Bangkok with the flight connection as follow:-

From A ---> KL----> Bangkok
If there is any misconnection of flight in KLIA(KL) to Bangkok, then it is not covered.
Is it a norm to all credit card issuer banks because I noticed that Hong Leong Bank  and MBF Platinum cards do not such exclusion clause.

Hope anyone can provide some insight as I maybe overlooked or misinterpreted.
*
Not sure about HLB andd MBF but for credit cards issued by HSBC/HSBC Amanah and citibank that come with complimentary travel insurance, they do have the same rule that you won't be entitled for compensation of any sort if it happens in your country of residence (Malaysia).

Thanks for reply, I have the Mastercard, any fees on that? So I just bring the Master and leave the AMEX at home.
*
0.5%... actual admin fee can be a bit higher, in the region of 1%. Anyway, remember to call the bank to inform them you'll be bringing this card to Korea with you. Have a great trip smile.gif

Eh, do let us know the outcome. Auto-debit with OCBC sounds like a good idea  biggrin.gif
Sure smile.gif

QUOTE(shawnk @ Apr 29 2012, 06:20 PM)
I just called up Astro to setup the auto-debit and it worked but the RM5 is only for customer who has not sign-up for Auto-Debit before. Sorry, do not have the exact detail. They did say I'll see the RM5 rebate on my next bill.  rclxms.gif
Eh ? I've done auto-debit before using my HSBC MasterCard. The Astro account is my mom's... anyway, will drop by at the Astro outlet here tomorrow if i'm free.

i faintly recall that you can get the statement from ATM but it is best for others to come and provide some credible info.

A very small receipt statement that prints out only your last 6 or 8 transactions.

QUOTE(lingling @ May 5 2012, 12:24 PM)
want to ask about the maybank amex link to paypal
been readhing some of the posts but not manage to find some solid answer

1.  for buying item in oversea (USD),will the exchange rate be higher than visa/master
The final amount will definitely be higher. It can be because the exchange rate is higher or because of the higher admin fee imposed for AMEX.

QUOTE(lingling @ May 5 2012, 12:24 PM)
2. any other processing fee involve when buying?  If the item is USD50, i will be charged at USD50 X exchange rate only ?
+ 0.5% + 2.5%. For more information, kindly refer to the Credit Card Foreign Exchange Rate thread.

QUOTE(lingling @ May 5 2012, 12:24 PM)
3. also can get 5% discount and 5X treatpoint if purchase made on weekend
For the 5% discount, yes, provided you have not used up your quota for that particular month.

QUOTE(lingling @ May 5 2012, 12:24 PM)
4. which one is more recommend. Linking paypal to debit card/ amex/visa/master

I personally use all AMEX, VISA and MC. Do note that you should only use your AMEX linked to Paypal after 2pm on every Saturdays if you want to the get 5% weekend discount as it follows Paypal's HQ time in US.

Last time all CC are used to Swipe....After EMV chip introduced now should be using slot in already, unless the terminal is not upgraded yet.
Actually, if you are paying with AMEX at Sime Darby Medical Centre (Subang Jaya Medical Centre), they will only swipe your card.

QUOTE(shawnk @ May 7 2012, 07:37 PM)
That's one thing I don't understand. They'll never admit some of their ATM tends to break our ATM card and they (MBB) charge us for the replacement but not the CC.

EDIT: Sorry off topic
ATM or debit card do not bring much profit to the bank but credit card does, so they do not mind to give us a free replacement if there is something wrong with our credit card as they do not want us to stop using it biggrin.gif

QUOTE(Gen-X @ May 7 2012, 08:15 PM)
Not sure if MBB charge us for replacement card like Citibank BUT when I asked if they would charge me for a new MBB 2 AMEX with the word Platinum (early ones without the Plat word), they said no and really reissue to me FOC.

Just call CS and explain to them your card is "broken" and you worry the tear will worsen and I am sure you'll get a replacement card for free.
Bro, i've requested for credit card replacement from Citibank twice and they never charged me a single cent. I did not have to ask them to waive it either. As for Maybank, they also do not charge for card replacement due to faulty chip, "broken" card etc.

I think some members here did get 5% cash back but I cannot remember the details. If anyone did get 5% cash back with pay pal, please repost the transaction details, i.e. Saturday or Sunday and Malaysia time. I will then post it at post#1 for others to refer.
*
Been there done that and i did get the 5% weekend cash back + 5x TP rclxms.gif

Payment through Paypal must be done at 2pm or after 2pm on Saturday (Malaysia) or else the transaction will be recorded as a payment made on Friday. This is because it follow Paypal's USA HQ time. During the months when daylight saving time is observed, you can do it at 1pm or after 1pm on Saturday (Malaysia).

Haha. You are definitely not alone. Many of us here are and myself included. I still can't quite figure out the time zone MAS online reservation system is using. So if i haven't used up my 5% weekend rebate, i'll wait until Saturday night to book a ticket through MAS website too laugh.gif

Download THIS form, fill it and fax it to Maybank with all the required supporting documents. Alternatively, hand over everything to any Maybank branch nearby. There are so many of them in this country.
