hello guys, this maybank 2 cards, we earn point and the point can be redeemed through maybank TP redeem website. Then how about at the AMEX website? is it we can register thr, then can earn point too for later days to redeem at AMEX website?
*
No. You can't register at AMEX Msia website. Your Maybank 2 AMEX earn Maybank Treatpoints, not AMEX Membership Rewards.

Starbucks voucher and not card.
It is only given to credit cards that applied from 1U, KLCC branch and probably Maybank HQ while waiting for the cards to be ready.
*
About a year ago, Maybank was trying to get their AMEX card holders to use their AMEX more and some card holders were offered a RM10 voucher if they start to use the AMEX within xx/xx/xx - xx/xx/xx. My mom received the flyer and she received the card by courier just last week thumbup.gif It was supposed to be a voucher but they sent her the Starbucks Card instead. As a matter of fact, i think most people here received the Starbucks Card instead of a voucher for this particular offer.

The first few batch don't have the word Platinum printed on the Maybankard 2 AMEX but all newly issued Maybankard 2 AMEX now has the word Platinum printed on it.

No, not that contest. You meant this right? http://www.offerstation.com/contest-prizes...ess-contest.htm
The one we received is a SMS from AmEx, asked us to answer simple question and may win RM 100. smile.gif
Results will be announced in 2 weeks time.
*
That's the contest i was talking about tongue.gif

I received the sms more than a month ago before i went on a vacation to Bangkok with my family. They were supposed to publish the results in AMEX website a week after i came back from Bangkok but it is almost end of June now but there is still no news from them doh.gif

Any of you know if we can do 0% instalment using AMEX at SenQ ? If i'm not mistaken, i think Gen-X said that it is possible at Harvey Norman but how about SenQ ? I'm thinking of buying the new iPad on 1st July (Sunday), so i can get 5% + 5xTP and do 0% instalment at the same time biggrin.gif

here is the latest list
http://www.americanexpress.com.my/amx_info...-OffersServices

In addition to HN, the other places with Ezy Pay with AMEX are Courts Mammoth, HSL, EpiCentre, Fotokem, Machines.
*
I was in KL for 1 night last weekend and went to Harvey Norman in Pavillion. I asked them about the 0% instalment for the new iPad but i was told that if i want to pay by instalment, i need to buy the cover case, buy another 2-year extra warranty blah blah blah... shakehead.gif I know that Apple just came out with a new iPad case that can fit the new iPad properly and i'll be going to Singapore two weeks later. It is cheaper there. That's why i don't want to buy the new iPad cover case here.

Anyway, i also dropped by at Machines KLCC and i was informed that they will charge me a one-time 3% extra if i want to do instalment shakehead.gif The Apple store in Pavillion is an EpiCentre outlet but i was in a rush then. So i didn't go in.

Thanks for the list, by the way. Appreciate it smile.gif

Wah, like that better inform AMEX they are misleading us.
I was very surprised too considering Machines is such a big company. And they don't do that just for AMEX. They charge 3% extra (one-time only) for any 0% instalment. Yeah, even with VISA or MasterCard rclxub.gif

Wah, like that better inform AMEX they are misleading us.

I have yet to do installment plan at Harvey Norman with AMEX but the cashier always ask me 1 swipe or installment before I pay for my purchases. As for the extra warranty, they cannot force us. Try another outlet. If I do drop my HN again, I'll ask too.
They said the profit margin for iPad is very very low. That's why they are doing this. They call it "bundled iPad". Yeah... whatever!

Anyway, i'll try to ask at Harvey Norman Mid-Valley next time i go to KL.

QUOTE(DM3 @ Jun 23 2012, 01:09 PM)
do check out apple store in SG, i think it cost more over there than here, even the macs ,now worst as SGD is now almost 2.5 now
*
The newly launched new iPad cover case is cheaper in Singapore. About RM30 cheaper after currency conversion drool.gif If i manage to buy one in the Apple store in Changi Terminal 3, then it's gonna be even cheaper tongue.gif

Why is AMEX so hard to be available by those shop?

I just get my Digi EPP plan at a digi dealer shop. Ask about AMEX and he said don't have terminal to swipe AMEX.

In my work place, Kuching, Sarawak, it is really hard to find the place that accept AMEX.
*
This is mainly due to the higher commission charged by AMEX, which is in the region of 3% - 5%. Despite its name, acceptance can be an issue too even in its origin country (USA).

I went to SenQ this morning and I was going to buy the new 32GB iPad WiFi only model. I enquired about this Maybank 0% EzyPay Instalment but guess what, i was told that i have to pay RM20 (Apple license fee) + RM25 (one time processing fee for paying by instalment) for 12-month 0% instalment. For 24-month 0% instalment, i have to pay RM20 (Apple license fee) + RM65 (one time processing fee for paying by instalment) doh.gif

Of course i wasn't willing to pay for the absurd fees. So i asked the staff if they accept AMEX and told him that i wanted to pay at one-go with my AMEX. But guess what, i was told that i have to buy at least two iPad accessories or they are not selling me the iPad vmad.gif The only Apple Premium Reseller Store in KK is Technocrats and they are using the same business tactic too. The only difference is that instead of forcing their potential customer to buy two iPad accessories like SenQ, one can choose to buy only one.

So, if we still have to pay this stupid processing fee for credit card instalment, it is not really a 0% instalment anymore. Anyway, i walked away at the end. So there goes my plan to buy an iPad sad.gif

i think that branch/sales person got problem, i didn't face issue to pay full for the ipad only mentioned will not allow the 0% interest installments fo Amex
Come to think of it, i just remembered that last time when i went there to ask about iPad 2, they didn't tell me about buying accessories. They didn't mention anything about having to pay RM20 for Apple license fee or RMxx processing fee either should i opt to pay by instalment. This was back in March, if my memory serves me correctly. Just about a week after Apple announced the new iPad and slashed their iPad 2 price by RM300.

QUOTE(charymsylyn @ Jun 28 2012, 04:33 PM)
You mean to say they refuse to sell you the iPad outright without instalment using Visa/Master?
No. They said that they can't sell the new iPad to me should i choose to pay at one-go but do not buy any iPad accessories from them.

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Jun 28 2012, 04:53 PM)
Look at the bright side, you saved RM1499 and the cheaper Google Nexus 7 coming out next month, haha smile.gif
I saved RM1,799 actually because that's the price for WiFi 32GB new iPad model biggrin.gif I really want the new iPad, but i don't like their business tactic. I think i'm going to call their main office tomorrow mad.gif

By the way, i went to DiGi yesterday. I was going to buy the new Samsung Galaxy SIII but at the end, i walked out empty handed too. All this while i thought they offer the same package like iPhone 4S. But i realized yesterday the RM48 monthly commitment fee is only for mobile data plan which i thought was seriously overpriced sweat.gif

QUOTE(gerrardling @ Jun 28 2012, 04:56 PM)
u can complain this to senQ management by sending email to them. They dont allow this kind of tactic which is purchase with purchase, those greedy branch manager just want to get sales target or clear stock You can straight away purchase the ipad, no need to purchase other accessories
Thanks for the advice. Yes. I think i will do that smile.gif

As for DiGi, can you use AMEX for installment plan?
I did ask about that yesterday. The staff said yes. There is one catch though. For all 0% instalment plan, one must take the 24-month contract one.

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Jun 28 2012, 07:12 PM)
The iPhone 1GB data with SMS and calls whereas the RM48 3GB data only and both unlimited data except that the speed reduces after you hit the quota.
Yeah. The cheapest DiGi iPhone plan is only RM55/month and it comes with 200min free voice calls, 200 sms, 20 mms and 1GB data. Definitely a lot cheaper and more worth it.

By the way, the RM48 (RM43 with autobilling) data plan for SIII comes with 1GB data only. That's really expensive in my opinion.

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Jun 28 2012, 07:12 PM)
However, if you are willing to get the S III from a dealer, you can actually sign up for iPhone package (without phone) and use it for the S III  smile.gif  My daughter uses Samsung W (she lost her iPhone last year) with DiGi iPhone plan (previous contract ended and now stand alone plan).
Hey! That is news to me! Will write you a PM later tongue.gif

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Jun 28 2012, 07:12 PM)
Look like the person up there is preventing you from getting a new tablet or SIII, must be a blessing in disguise hahaha.
Unfortunately it does seem so. But guess what ? I ain't giving up just yet laugh.gif

Processing fee is normal for senq. cinapek company is like that kiasu 1. I rather get from harvey norman.
*
No. It's not normal. Because last time when i asked about the iPad 2, there was no processing fee and neither did they force me to buy any iPad accessories. I strongly believe it is the branch manager's problem or the promoter.

I faced similar issue at Harvey Norman Pavillion branch just two weeks ago. When i asked them about their 0% instalment plan, i was told there is absolutely no processing fee but i must buy at least two iPad accessories from them. At the end, i walked away too vmad.gif

QUOTE(Dannyl @ Jun 29 2012, 10:05 AM)
Sen Heng no such problem wor.  Can buy anything.  But 0% 6-month instalment only applies to MBB Visa and Master, not Amex.  No Apple fees, only RM12 for Sen Heng membership if you want the extra year warranty.

Do complain to their management.
Is Sen Heng and SenQ the same company ? Noticed their logos are almost the same. We only have 3 SenQ outlets in KK and upon checking on Sen Heng websites, there have 4 outlets here shocking.gif Didn't know Sen Heng have so many outlets in KK already sweat.gif

Yeah. I will definitely lodge a complaint.

which digi centre offer amex installement plan? mostly nowadays it's limited to visa/mastercard for ezypay only
*
The DiGi centre in Api-api Centre in Kota Kinabalu. That is DiGi main office for Sabah. Is it too far for you biggrin.gif

I think you probably have to go to their own DiGi Centre that runs by DiGi itself, not authorised DiGi Centre or something smile.gif

it shouldn't annoy u..

if it's me, i will just laugh at their business strategy, and wonder who's gonna buy from them ?  biggrin.gif

maybe perhaps, the new ipad is scarcely available in kk? what other outlet is ipad available?
Pretty much every store selling iPad in KK are using the same business tactic unfortunately. Technocrats, the only Apple Premium Reseller here too is forcing their potential customer to buy at least one iPad accessory.

Anyway, i've used up my MBB2 AMEX 5% weekend rebate this month. I intend to go to SenQ again coming Sunday (1st July) and see if i can charge everything into my card at one go without them forcing me to buy any iPad accessory.

- The DiGi Centre accepts AMEX
- It's Saturday or Sunday
- For all DiGi EPP, you must sign-up for the 24-month contract
