apparently you can
just normal install Raspbian. then you can install Xbmc on top of it
official guide = https://www.raspbian.org/RaspbianXBMC

the fastest method is using the binary install
http://michael.gorven.za.net/raspberrypi/xbmc

OR, the easist way is, just install a browser addon in the XBMC/Kodi. bet it would work like a charm

p/s : just realised that in the page mentioned that it would take 12 HOURS to compile them from source. hopefully not that long on RPI2

no, as well as you put a private ip that is not used by any devices at your network then it will be okay (i.e 192.168.x.x)
replace x with any number from 2 - 253.

Anyway, the above is just for additional knowledge  laugh.gif

Do the "2. Set up the client" where you will set Using DHCP for configuring IPv4 and it should work. Set back your raspi to use dhcp if you've changed it to static ip previously.
http://www.maclife.com/article/howtos/how_...ection_ethernet

Try and see if it works. I don't have a Mac so can't try it out personally
*
Before doing this test, i even built a button for resetting the /etc/network/interfaces , because mine one is headless, any problem ssh into it, really die laio rclxub.gif

here is my OSX static ip:

address:192.168.10.2
subnet mask 255.255.255.0

hers is my Rpi static ip:
auto eth0
allow-hotplug eth0
iface eth0 inet static
address 192.168.10.3
netmask 255.255.255.0
gateway 192.168.10.2

result:
fail to ping from both side. [with or without gateway mentioned in Rpi] and [with or without connected to wifi at the same time eth0 conneted]

wow didn't know there's so many rpi users here! biggrin.gif
i'm a noob to rpi, just recently bought a rpi2 and load up raspbian into it.
at the moment i'm using it for torrenting (transmission), file sharing, and my personal cloud storage (owncloud).

not sure what other stuff i can put on it yet...is there any central page for all the uses you guys use for your rpi2?

i believe so, since there's even dedicated OS for media box haha!
but i mainly use it for torrenting since it's a low power device, better than running my rig just for torrenting.

If you are using the rpi only for media, try osmc.tv, the evolution of raspbmc. Very good UI, and stable. Auto updates, so not much of tweaking need to be done.

do you set port forwarding for the port that your torrent is using?
make sure that the torrent is a live ones? and not with 0 seeders.
also, what torrent are you using?
