Why the OS mambo jumbo? For me I'm looking at its camera function not worry if it a dead OS Same concept with Film SLR actually it maybe outdated but still can be used today and it has a personal feel to it.
Those meetup with me last week and weeks back know why I love my Nokia N8 (dead OS right?), reason is I had a photography job in Bukit Gambang and my N8 fell down 3 stories high at a construction building and the phone survive (only minor scratch on the body and a little chipping on the top), camera works well too.
i did actually tried by smashing it as tough as i can.got some scratches, phone still works perfectly.
I think you must be using dinosaur aged Android. It has been for some time that Samsung and even Motorola reverse engineer Honeycomb browser over to 2.3.x which result in GPU acceleration for browser. Even ios also stop showing chequered boxes after v5.
I did say stock Android. I tested Galaxy Nexus Ice Cream Sandwich. Lags a lot compared to iOS and WP, especially with Live Wallpapers. It may be GPU accelerated but they're still using a crappy rendering feedback algorithm.
Even on the SGS2 with I think has a better GPU the home screen swiping doesnt feel as responsive as iOS.
This is not a GPU/CPU issue, it's a rendering algorithm issue.
I'm buying. >.< Yeah, Symbian is dead, but hey, it is only at year 2016. I change my phone every 2 years, by then Windows Phone will have PureView tech already. Belle is really good to me already, kinda like HTC's Sense skin. Carla and Donna update is coming up next. I have both SGSII and N8, SGSII's camera and audio production in music player is just bad.

Android 2.x is not GPU accelerated but let's not go into that.

i agree vf andrew lim.my experience to those android devices-honeycomb,gingerbread(sgs2,note,tabby 7.7) compare to experience to wp7(800,HD7) and ipad2,the android devices just disappointing and lags a lot.ipad2 n wp7 browser are VERY smooth compare to tab 7.7 or sgs2.maybe the flash is the main reason?
when i get the 808, the only thing i would wait for would be the extended batt where i bet 3rd party would release bigger batt pack which come with back cover that make the phone flat... a phone size as 5800xm not bothering me at all...
i don't mind having thicker phone too in fact i still using n82 and thicker camera phone might actually give better grip when holding it for shooting
I dropped my N8 a few times because it slide off my hands. I dont really mind thick phones, but i often point at the fact where phone manufacturers compete to make the most fragile phones because more and more people prefer to wear tight jeans that inhibit the growth of the size of their _ _ _ _ _
Seriously? have you ever use MeeGo phone for not less than a week?
hehe, bad bad meego... near perfect fluidity but when i use it, most of the time i love the Feed feature (some bug though as sometimes the RSS/AP feed will get stuck and no more updating)... the rest really meego just act like dummy phone where really seldom play with apps during ~3 months usage
my bad my bad...
Added on February 29, 2012, 10:20 amand now the SGN, plenty of apps where i've scratch my head where to start from... lots of junk apps as well, tried to get a "useful" camera measurement tools end up KNS experience... the Wifi Hotspot app failed totally compare with the build in Hotspot apps (but the build in hotspot app dont have widget nor quick enable/disable method)... arghhhhh
