Hi,

Im getting Maybank2kad, should I get master or visa?
*
It is said Maybank MasterCard has even lower foreign exchange rate compared to Maybank VISA. So Maybank MasterCard is probably better if your main concern is the foreign exchange rate. Besides this, MasterCard tends to have more promotions too.

OCBC announced today that their net income declined 16 percent from a year earlier to S$696 million. I think the bank should take up more cc biz especially in Msia in order to push for the higher profit margin. Hopefully they may decide to ease their tight cc approval strategy.

Credit card is a high risk business. That is why these Chinese controlled banks aren't particularly big or active with their credit card business. UOB Singapore has been very active in promoting their mass affluent and high net worth banking business since last year. This is probably one of the areas that OCBC needs to focus on.

Unless you can get multiple Wise VISA or OCBC TMC, MBB2 AMEX is the only card that can give earn you the most rewards/cash back and not to mention, it's much less troublesome as well.

Hi, I come across your post below on hotelclub:
I would like to know whether the booking will be charged to our card at the moment we submit the booking form (like Agoda), or during check-out (after the stay)?

Thank you  smile.gif

It will be charged immediately. However, most hotel rooms sold by HotelClub is fully refundable. So do check if the hotel room you want to book is fully refundable. I cancelled a booking a few weeks ago for a hotel room in Singapore and the money was refunded to my account in only 2 or 3 days. Very efficient i must say thumbup.gif

By the way, do book your room through the HotelClub/VISA promo page smile.gif

Citibank: CS says the company is labelled as for 'gambling', so under BNM rules they have to block it.

Paiseh paiseh blush.gif Actually you have done a lot more research and studies on credit cards as well as debit card than me. Just that there are very very few things i know but you weren't aware of. So it should be me calling you sifu instead tongue.gif

By the way, the Citibank Prestige World MasterCard Elite in reality, is just a card to show off for those status conscious people laugh.gif
