QUOTE(Human10 @ Apr 22 2012, 11:15 PM) TKL or Fullsize? TKL:11,800yen Fullsize: 12,800yen http://www.diatec.co.jp/shop/srch.phpp/s: Wah, thats a serious expensive price, even higher than the previous Filco R? Seems like other switches variant also cost the same, may be the SRP in Japan is really high... If so may be you can wait for local set. Our local Filco TKL should cost around RM380. Or Daijoubu can order straight from Diatec. I can't read japanese much, but ordering straight should be doable? edit: Ready to pre order from elsewhere too. http://www.sofmap.com/product_detail/exec/.../gid=SA10010000http://www.sofmap.com/product_detail/exec/.../gid=SA10010000This post has been edited by kaiserreich: Apr 22 2012, 11:26 PM

Haha yup that is the normal price of Filco's in Japan. cheapest i see so far for TKL is 10500yen in Akihabara. They're all pretty expensive and close to retail price here. The closest i see to a good deal is 7000yen for the Archiss AS-KB87T. That's like RM265.

Thats the problem with Akihabara. There is SO DAMN MANY things to buy, but everything is freaking expensive you end up just salivating at the hardware without actually able to buy it

Belated Ducky 9008G2pro review - brief version (photos coming soon)
9008G2pro is the name of Ducky's latest mechanical keyboard model. Details are available at DuckyChannel website.
It is mean to replace 9008G2, they've removed it from their product list. (this explains the recent price drop of 9008G2)
Tech Specs
- 104 keys full size keyboard - 4 extra system shortcut key - Detachable USB cable - Dip switch for altering key functions (eg Windows key, caps / ctrl swap, alt / win swap, USB 6KRO / NKRO) - Cherry MX Blue (other MX switches available as well) - need confirm with Storm88 - NKRO (PS/2 and USB) (enable from Dip switch) - Multimedia shortcut key - Partial LED backlit (WASD keys) - UV coated keys
Packaging
Same as Ducky 9008G2, gold label on red box.
Included: - Keyboard - USB cable - USB to PS/2 adapter - ring key puller - WASD key caps (translucent) - keyboard sleeve - plastic keyboard cover - multilingual user manual
Review
Pros:
- Above average build quality - Compared among mechanical keyboards - Aluminium plate mounted - Good, but not the best as certain brand that uses metal plate which is much sturdier - Genuine Cherry MX switches - Mac OS X support - NKRO over USB (Windows Only, configured via dip switch) - 6KRO over USB (Mac OS X & Windows, configured via dip switch) - Detachable USB cable - easy replacement & proper cable management during transport - Multimedia shortcut keys - Four extra shortcut function keys - Classy and secure packaging - dat RED box - Included keyboard cover, sleeve, 4 extra translucent key caps and ring key cap puller - Slight high customizability
Subjective:
- Modern-regular design - Plate mounted - restricts switch changing in exchange of sturdiness (some people prefer PCB mounted) - Gold plated USB cable - neither good or bad as it serves nothing (just a marketing gimmick) - Cherry MX Blue - Tactile, Clicky - Cherry Stabilizers - Easy for changing key caps, but changes the feel of the key - ABS key cap - less durable than PBT, but cheaper - Windowed keys - slightly harder to find replacement key caps, unless you're OK using non-windowed key caps on it. - Partial backlit - Somehow, I think it's a bit pointless...
Cons:
- QC issues on consistency - frame alignment, plastic mold marks - Short elevation feet - Heavy - Short USB cable - useless cable management rail - same problem as 9008S / 9008G2 (force bending the USB cable to fit) - Coated key caps - when the coating wears off, the key caps will look bad... - Slightly raised key cap printing - letters are more prone to wear and tear - no LED brightness control - The LEDs are blinding me (using translucent key caps) - Short elevation feet - Ring key puller - Ducky pls, a proper wire key cap puller only RM15 or less, Y U no like???? yuno.jpg
Note: - lower profile (slightly lower than 9008G2 due to different bottom case) [wait for photos]

@above, Nice review, that pretty much cover all(and of course even more details) I read from China forum. http://www.waishehome.cn/thread-49122-1-1.htmlAlso, it is better if you explain more on the change in bottom case of the board(reduced height, new improved wire grooves and so on). We'll find out in a few months if mine has the same problem. I plan to give the keyboard a good workout, like 10 hours a day.

It could either be enclosure flex, or height of the rubber foots are not even. Removing the offending rubber foot and putting layers (as thick as the 1 piece of paper u used) of double sided tape in between the rubber foot and enclosure should do the trick without looking tacky

QUOTE(rurushu @ Apr 23 2012, 08:13 AM) 10 hours a day? a programmer? @rurushu - LOL. No, I'm not a programmer. I do statistics (number crunching on Stata mainly), write reports, and blog (on my corporate site, membership site, and personal site). On some days, I can spend up to 20 hours at my workstation/office. I'm a healthcare consultant. When I'm away from my office, I attend meetings, do live training, give talks, conduct surveys, and spend/waste time at airports. This post has been edited by epiguru: Apr 23 2012, 10:15 PM
