Hi everyone,

Just want to let you know I got a SIIG Minitouch keyboard with blue Monterey switches for sale. The overall cosmetics of the keyboard is "OK" but all the keys work perfectly - very light and pleasant clickiness.

Here's the advertisement: http://goo.gl/VtcSf

Please send me a PM if you are interested.

The keyboards with the ANSI/US layout tend to have "Enter" with the arrow on the key. But the keyboards in Europe (ISO or otherwise) may leave "Enter" out and have just the arrow - the latter is probably what sulfuriq was using when he was in the UK. Below is a Model F with German layout - no "Enter":

I believe the SIIG MiniTouch came in two different types of switches: white ALPS and blue Montereys. The latter is more highly regarded and, I believe, more difficult to find.
The keyboard that I'm selling has blue Monterey switches. Light, crisp, and precise key action. Very tactile and clicky!

Though, my Realforce 87u has an uneven base. Need to put a small piece of paper so that the keyboard does not goyang.

Kaiser, this is the last thing I want to hear/read! Which part of the keyboard gave way?

Front right.

It's a non issue for me. 1 Piece of paper makes it good.
It might be an isolated case, but then again, I only have 1 Realforce.

OK, thanks. We'll find out in a few months if mine has the same problem. I plan to give the keyboard a good workout, like 10 hours a day.

@rurushu - LOL. No, I'm not a programmer. I do statistics (number crunching on Stata mainly), write reports, and blog (on my corporate site, membership site, and personal site). On some days, I can spend up to 20 hours at my workstation/office. I'm a healthcare consultant. When I'm away from my office, I attend meetings, do live training, give talks, conduct surveys, and spend/waste time at airports.

Low margins are fine as long as turnover is good. Just ask the people who run Daiso. smile.gif

Hi everyone,

I'm picking up some stuff from Unicomp for myself and a few guys second week of May. If you want anything, let me know via PM or e-mail epiguru [at] epiguru [dot] com.

Shipping of keycaps will be in a small box from Singapore via registered and insured Air Mail. Delivery is in first week of June. For a few keycaps (I cannot do keyboards, sorry), total shipping cost to your doorstep should be no more than US$10, i.e. your share of shipping from US to S'pore and then from S'pore to M'sia. Shipping cost will come down if/when more people join. If you want to collect directly from me in Penang (Gurney), that will be possible but be prepared to wait a few months until I come back from Singapore - in this case, you only pay your share of shipping from US to S'pore.

As discussed earlier in this thread, there is no profit in this type of activity or even if there is, it's marginal and not worth it. So we can consider this a service to the local MKB community. I know Unicomp stopped shipping directly to Malaysia some time late 2011 or early 2012. Any orders and payments should be received before 7 May 2012.

Pretty sure not.

Unicomp keycaps are for the old IBM, Lexmark, and Unicomp BS keyboards.

It's one of those rare things where even if you are willing to pay for it, most will not sell it. I'm sticking with it.

I didn't think you'd sell. smile.gif

It's like asking me to give up my soon-to-arrive in-original-box IBM Model F AT. Priceless! (Which reminds me I better get the thing insured.)

Here's my 2 cents: Overall SP does a lousy job at doubleshots. Kerning issues, thin caps, font quality,... and you would have thought they could do better in their core business.

any one know of service for helping getting item from Elite Keyboard?
I m interested in these 3 item,

http://elitekeyboards.com/products.php?sub...&pid=tenter_yel
http://elitekeyboards.com/products.php?sub...s&pid=twasd_yel
http://elitekeyboards.com/products.php?sub...s&pid=hh_redesc

any one interested to get them together to save money on shipment?
*
Unless I'm missing something, shipping to Malaysia costs only US$5.52 - http://goo.gl/DRGdY. That's very cheap, compared to vendors like ClickyKeyboard and Unicomp (the latter don't even post to Malaysia anymore).

I can get someone to act as a proxy but it will still cost a bit for shipping within the US and then to Malaysia/Singapore. If I am going to the States, I won't mind if people want me to pick up small stuff for them - no charge, just cover the cost of shipping within Malaysia. People in Penang can come and collect the stuff themselves.

I don't think I'll be going to the US in the near future. (I just came back a few weeks ago.)

About the EK order, can you confirm it is just this?: http://goo.gl/DRGdY

Let me know if it is only those three items, after which I'll send you a PM about my account details, etc.

I decide to get a Red Esc, a Yellow Enter and Orange WASD, not yellow WASD.

Let me know who and how much to pay. Thanks.

OK, so this is your order? http://goo.gl/5kL6J

Please confirm that the items and item #s are correct because I cannot be responsible for any error. I'll be checking out from the screen you can see: http://goo.gl/5kL6J.

Thank you very much, I really appreciate your help.

The order numbers and item descriptions are correct.

If it isn't too much of a trouble,  sweat.gif
may I add one set of Lime Green WASD and one Lavender Enter?
(DAMM!! THESE ARE ADDICTIVE!!!)
Is this how it feel to get new cloth for new wife? wub.gif

BTW are you getting any thing for yourself there?
*
So the latest order is: http://goo.gl/jzxDN ? Please confirm. I cannot be held responsible for any error. Like I said, I'll just press the Checkout button from what you can see on my screen http://goo.gl/jzxDN .

I'm expecting to receive a Realforce 87U as a gift but I have zero interest in Topre coloured keycaps.

If we were talking about NIB or mint IBM Model F PC/AT keyboards, that will be an entirely different story. drool.gif
