CM has the same mounting as FILCO, which the PLU copies
Since they acrylic case fits the PLU, hence

A keycool version gonna come out next.

so Kaiser, you indicating that CM Storm TKL = FILCO TKL = PLU TKL and all three are usable on MKC's acrylic case? hmm.gif hmm.gif

btw.... did MKC mention any plans for fullsize 104 acrylic case? hmm.gif

Archiss Keyboard and Leopold team-up to manufacture FC200, so they share the design of it, and the Manufacturer was Datacomp.(Taiwan Manufacturer)

As for Leopold FC700R, it does not have any thing related to Keycool new 87U.(solo project)

One of the main reasons why Keycool have a completely same PCB board of FC700R and retains the outer casing of FC200.
It is because the new Manufacturer in China has sold/given the blueprint of the PCB board to Keycool.(one of the main reason why Leopold are changing manufacturer last month)

Keycool has already been well known for duplicating Leopold Products, with it's FC200R clone. It's just that, this time they've even successfully stolen a PCB board design that the product hasn't release on Public yet.

Leopold FC700R release date : Feb 2012
Keycool new 87U : October 2011

As i say again, Leopold and Keycool Manufacturer does not shares the same manufacturer, one of the main reasons is because Most Manufacturing Equipment as well as Molding Equipment are under Leopold.

Plus the fact that Keycool has never be able to Manufacture PBT Keycap that Leopold has.

So in summary, my choices for sub-RM300 KB are as below:

Keycool 87: RM200
Keycool 87 BL: RM250
The CM Storm Quick Rapid Brown: RM250
The Archiss Brown (AS-KB87T)): RM300 (Japan)
Leopold Brown (FC200R/EB): RM300+ (Japan)
Poker KBC Brown: RM280 (japan)

Leopold TKL are getting abit harder to find these days.
I saw some Rosewill keyboards too but stock is low, maybe due to its still new in the market.
Heard some not so good news about their quality tho.

Looks like the Keycool 87BL seems to be best choice if it has full compatibility with filco keycaps.
Will take a look at it and decide between that and CM storm.
Another possible one is the Poker KBC, but it feels light compared to the Filcos. Feels not as good in terms of build quality sad.gif

dude, you are so close to all those items and you decide to get a RM250 of item?
its like going in to treasure island and pick up a piece of iron cup, instead of any other possible treasure.

If you only planed for RM250 stuffs, might as well get it in Malaysia, from those authorized dealers that provide warranty.

But if you have a address at Japan and know Japanese, go yahoo auction in Japanese, I suggest that you
get one of those 2nd hand HHKB or Realforce, they are around RM600 the last time I check, That you won't have any chance getting here in Malaysia.
and any time if you are selling them 3rd hand, ppl will grab it instantly.

New guy KyosukeX, added to switch try list.
Whoever that is holding the numpad do take note

If anyone wants to try the numpad, just shoot me a PM and you can try the switches and avoid buying all the keyboards. biggrin.gif

In my opinion, if you getting the white and grey keycaps, that will look awkward,
the metallic blue casing for your Filco will look nice with the white keycaps,
plus get blue or green legend, which will suit it nicely. wink.gif

I studied fine art in collage, thus I am giving you suggestion from "art" point of view only,
if the key cap cannot fit into any of the switches or what so ever, don't come scream to me. sweat.gif

That's some good suggestion, the white pbt dye sub is costly tho, about rm300+ with shipping, don't worry i have done enough research about the keycaps, it fits well. smile.gif thanks a lot.
