QUOTE(kEazYc @ Feb 26 2012, 12:48 PM) Filco for its premium quality (good QC from manufacturer side), Ducky for its look but slightly bad quality (that's why its cheaper compare to Filco), your call. I agree with the Filco part, but I never tried a ducky, for the Filco I m typing on, the blue switch clicky felt great,But since our local distri for Filco has adjusted the price for their Filco lineups, you can consider about getting them, unless the looks is what your concern then you may go for the Ducky Shine. and as I changing the key caps, moving around holding in hand the weight the textures, every thing felt good in every category. Added on February 26, 2012, 1:29 pm QUOTE(Human10 @ Feb 26 2012, 09:17 AM) Hmm, is it just me or the arrow keys on your board doesn't seem to have offset problem? Filco fixed them? Thanks for the RM100 suggestion. I will consider it when I want to get another keyboard BTW, RM120 should be fine as it included the key puller. Though lower price(like RM100) will make it more popular/suitable(cause the keys lack numpad, demand may be lower). but for now, the price I will set at RM120, postage not included. BTW, What do you mean by the arrow keys offset problem? This post has been edited by kaysa: Feb 26 2012, 01:29 PM |

QUOTE(JohnDiew0107 @ Feb 27 2012, 10:37 AM) if I were to get a tenkeyless, which board would you guys recommend? The Filco Mejestouch 2 Yellow Key Blue Switch I m typing on now felt very solid and nice, aim for: 1. tenkeyless - portability 2. development / programming / typing btw, I'm slightly lean towards MX-Blue switch. edit* and I already owned a brown switch and after I change to PBT key caps, it felt even better...... But I think I am addicted to the Steelseries arm rest, so I am using the Filco with the SS arm rest I do not know what else that you should be comparing tho, Just that some time when I play Tetris in Facebook the arrow keys aren't response as quickly as the Black switch Steelseries 7G. |

QUOTE(Cyclonechuah @ Feb 27 2012, 03:05 PM) Leopold was previously mass produce in Taiwan, but later face some quality issue as well as cost problem. they shifted their manufacture to China, for investing into other stuff such as PBT, POM, Dye Sub, Doubleshot, something like that. Since it's cheaper in China So did Leopold have key caps too? are you selling any? |

So this is how it look like putting together the SS 7G armrest and the Filco 87keys yellow keyboard moded with black pbt keycaps...... the bottom side of the armrest height is same with the keyboard bottom side, so I can say it fit quite nicely there, the back of it the USB wire attached to the keyboard part, the armrest has the arch to let the wire go through...... I don't know if other keyboards like 104 keys has the wire connect to the middle or side. The wire connect to the keyboard part are not supporting the armrest, it has some space still at the top of the arch, the side of the arm rest are the actual point that support the weight, not the wire. |

Did any one know of any good quality China brand Cherry Mx keyboard which do not have steelboard? One that when modding the switch do not need soldering?
I am thinking to mod a keyboard with different MX switches...... but the one with the steel boards need to mod with soldering right? And I do not have any skill in soldering. |

QUOTE(Human10 @ Mar 3 2012, 11:54 AM) Cherry G80-3800(AKA Cherry MX K2.0). Can't really say it is China brand as it is Cherry(Germany) branded but made by OEM in China. I think I am gonna get one! and some switches too.Not sure if it is good but it is certainly cheap(around RM200). It is currently available in Taobao but Storm88 say that he may carry it to Malaysia market, so it is up to you if you want to wait for the advantage of having warranty(but IMO, it will not matter if got warranty or not as we are certainly will open it up and mod it, which also mean void of warranty...). |

I plan to get a mx black switches keyboards, and getting some red cherry switches, so the different of these two are only the springs and the color? or the design is also different? And where can I get the springs inside the switches? |

QUOTE(ricstc @ Mar 4 2012, 08:39 PM) Thank you all for the suggestions. I had talked directly to Cyclone last week and had done it again last night and he said that his supplier hasn't got back to him since. Which Taobao Seller are you getting from?Deadline coming Tuesday or Wed. Then if I cannot get Cyclone to help, I will be ordering from Taobao. Anyone want to do a joint order (if that saves some shipping cost) please PM me. My taobao agent in lyn for this is taobao agent cloud8318 (http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showuser=10999) Thanks again, will update all if you wish to followup on my progress. Last time I check, the sellers are not selling any cheaper than Cyclone...... I suggest that you to wait response from Cyclone's supplier... in the future that might be easier to get warranty claim, if needed that is. I was thinking of getting a topre silent version 10 keyless... but not sure I am up to that yet. and maybe my typing skill is not so good yet, that I cant feel the differences between cherry mx and a topre switches... if any mean possible, I would like to try one before buying one. |

I mean is it possible to mod the springs of the switches without soldering? Anyone know where can I get the different weight force springs in the Cherry Mx Switches?
I was thinking, even if I get the cherry G80-3800, I wouldn't have the springs to mod the weight forces of the springs in the switches.... I saw this guy in Taobao selling switches, but if I buy the whole switches... that would be too pricy just to peel off the springs in it...... |

Just got my red switch Leopold from TS today!
Great touch, much softer than the black Steelseries 7G. It came with a set of blank keycaps also! Thank Cyclone! from confirmation of order to receiving good, all in 3 days! BTW, the 7G armrest can fit in to the full size Leopold keyboard.... or should I say, the Leopold full size keyboard can fit into the 7G armrest...... And for the last keyboard I will get is a brown switch cherry mx, then I will pick one that suit me best, and sell the rest! |

QUOTE(Human10 @ Mar 9 2012, 03:46 PM) There is spaces at 2 side about 4~5mm, it doesn't bother me.The btm side's a bit higher than the Leopold btm about 1~2mm, but it felt alright since I used the armrest's height all the time, the height is ok for me. the top side are around 5mm higher than the top of the Leopold keyboard, which doesn't matter neither, because my hands doesn't go there... The top where the wire come out, the hole in the middle can allow the keyboard wire come out from the middle. but not the side, which is ok also. Since when I m using the 7G, the wire come out of the middle also. Will take a photo when I have the time. |
