These people got too much money.
I certainly wouldn't abuse my tools to prove a point.

I was looking at the B&D RTX rotary tool and it's just under RM100 in the US vs RM300+ here.
That's 3 for 1

How is it thing are so cheap there?

Current or money?
(eg Amperage or Leverage? )
I would think the market for 240V tools is bigger than 110V

But,  China made cheap products are flooding in our market. So we still have options.

The issue isn't "currency power".
I have to pay USD30 for the B&D tool in the US but pay USD100 for same in Malaysia
Using your currency power example, US customers can buy 3 units for USD100 but I can barely buy 1/3 with RM100
So now US customers can earn more, pay less, get more.
No wonder they can afford to abuse a perfectly good tool for show and tell.
Question is why is so much cheaper there?

Tq... but, not that good la. I need to pull the trigger and release it quickly. The spindle keep spinning due to the inertia, and it tighten the screw.

I still can pull the trigger delicately enough NOT to invoke the impact mechanism, and stop accordingly, just like what the powered screw driver.

But, we are human and we may make mistakes... That's why, an advanced impact driver has several modes to suit the needs. No need to say, it's cost.....

Added on May 21, 2012, 1:27 pmYes, threre are more appropriate power tools for this task. The Makita DF030 or simalar drill driver with CLUTCH, which limits the torque accordingly, preventing any damages.
We can still use the impact driver for delicate tasks, but use the varible speed control trigger wiesely.. If you don't any confident, don't use impact driver, and use the drill driver instead or,... hand tools such as the screw driver.

The electronic appliance, Sony DPS M7 which I showed has 15 screws, and twisting the screw driver is quite tiresome for 'old' person like me. Beside the appliance, I also use the impact driver to dissamble front loading washing machine, and has .... many screws to deal with.

I already have the impact driver. , and it did excellently in any tasks.     No need of the drill driver for now, yet.
Let's see what JinXXX opinions about drill driver (DF030) and the impac driver (TD090).

I just found a YouTube channel showing how do a typicall basic DIY. as a reference  Unfortunately it is in Japanese, and you can see the operator's hand... seem to be very OTAI. Some of us might not understand the Japanese, but, just wacth and  learn.

All the power tools were Makita products. Look old and had being beaten up. As we can see, the OTAI also has a very good trigger control.

Pilot hole ; Agreed. Pilot hole can gives more precise hole location.

LED work light. Yes, single LED is good but, it also produces shadow.  But still better than nothing.    BTW I do not rely on the impact driver's LED, because I am using a very bright head light when working at low light or dark places Seriously it is more convincing, effective and useful.

Got myself an IKEA cordless drill. RM 149, enough for light work. I even use it to take down one door and do some adjustment. Torque wise so so, but enough to do basic things. But is light 1.4KG

I am using a 27Nm only china brand.
Cant imaging how powerful a 100Nm driver.

it doesn't have a chuck, its using a hex like all other impact driver...

i would have bought this if i haven't bought a new bosch impact driver...

this brand is still new in msia... so distribution is limited...

if u search worx in mudah u will find a company powerworx in puchong...
that is the distributor... the price they put is list price..

oh yah... the dist said they giv 1 year warranty... compared to 6 months by bosch n others...

Tht is two gun, this one gun, u check how much is a makita 3 in 1 combi tht is available in/for msia.. not us model...
Models for usa is lain cerita over here in msia...
