QUOTE(kennethkee93 @ May 1 2012, 06:53 PM) performance ok ah? If get those like mushkin 1 any difference? How to see the voltage and speed of it? Virtually no difference at all. It's identical in terms of voltage and speed and timings. All voltage is the same at 1.5v except for the low voltage ones which I've only seen in the Crucial RAM which is not even available here.If you get the high performance ones like the Corsair Vengeance or Kingston HyperX, then there would be something a bit more noticeable but it's more expensive. But in most cases, larger memory size > memory speed. |

QUOTE(Bendan520 @ May 1 2012, 10:52 PM) Battery for me as long as function around 3-4 hours and sound system average is okay. Hmmm, could consider this. Most value for money thing at the moment I'd say. 14" would be great http://www.techhypermart.com/notebooks/asu...ook-laptop.html Personally using one now. One of the most powerful for its pricing, superbly long battery life and a design that doesn't look cheap. QUOTE(CLOUDLUM @ May 2 2012, 08:23 AM) n56 in malaysia dont have any new. But i found in the website of us and the price so expensive. The price almost nearly G55 Local pricing won't be the same as the US ones. Over there, people don't mind paying more for lower specs so long as it serves their purpose. They will definitely take over the price bracket from the current N5 series. |

QUOTE(sfwong1 @ May 6 2012, 06:32 PM) bro my criteria is the same as Bendan520 also but i would like something bigger like 15.6"cos previously i was using dell inspiron that size. budget also around 2.5k. can gimme some idea? You could consider the A53SV. Battery life isn't as fantastic but it is one of the few 15.6" in the budget range. Top up a bit more for an N55SL. Better screen resolution, performance and sound system as well as build quality.QUOTE(holoman @ May 7 2012, 10:47 AM) Try a HDMI cable? Only if your TV has a HDMI port. Otherwise, there's no way. |

QUOTE(sfwong1 @ May 8 2012, 04:44 PM) whats new about the ivy bridge processor. but normal surfing for both the laptop is at sufficient speed. but for the gaming wise i think the N53SN is much better rite? Nothing much, there is some improvement in terms of processing power but for normal surfing and basically every other application. The N53SN would be much better. |

QUOTE(ErgoProxi @ May 15 2012, 06:49 AM) They won't. Unless they really have no choice they will fix it and give you back the unit. It's essentially a GT630M when you think about it.QUOTE(fm_hyudin @ May 18 2012, 05:43 PM) Hi.. Basically you would need the Intel chipset drivers, Intel graphics drivers, Nvidia graphics drivers, ATK hotkey drivers, wireless and LAN drivers and also webcam for basic functionality. I have a asus a43sj-vx138v laptop.it is using core i3.i have reinstalled the windows 2 times and everything seems to be ok but i had formatted fresh by removing all the bloatware.when i install driver, it always have exclamation mark at bluetooth.i'm not sure why this happen and what are the drivers and software i must install ? does intel management engine and etc necessary ? please advise. QUOTE(Srious @ May 19 2012, 08:26 PM) It's out but the Malaysian version is a little disappointing in terms of its specs. |

QUOTE(Rizard @ May 19 2012, 09:51 PM) Anyone can help me, i just bought ASUS model A43S with oem Win7 64bit Premium installed. But when i'm using the laptop 1st time the booting to log on windows is so long...i need to wait 1-2 minutes. I don't know what kind of crap they install to my new laptop before i receive it. When i check it in TAsk Manager...without running any application its show the the processes is 86 and my memory ram usage is 1.28Gb. is it a bit weird because it's a new laptop? should it be for normal fresh win7 ram usage should below 800mb right? any one can suggest me to do what to make my computer running fast. That's actually pretty normal for a new Asus laptop since they have a habit for installing a lot of bloatware in it. You can uninstall most of the bloat to speed it up but then again, I realize that some of the hard drives that they use are also rather pokey ones compared to the other 5,400 rpm drives in the market. QUOTE(Srious @ May 19 2012, 10:19 PM) Yeah it is. But for the price, not so much. Better off importing it. |

QUOTE(ErgoProxi @ May 20 2012, 06:26 AM) I just activate my trend micro titanium internet security 2012(1year trial). Probably they won't give a discount. That antivirus is within the factory state (software) of my A43SV. Wonder if they will give a discount if I decided to buy it? QUOTE(Hexane @ May 20 2012, 06:45 AM) hi guys, What's your budget like? And do you need the good speakers? If possible, it's recommended to pay a bit more for the N or U series rather than the A series as you would get better build quality and design on a whole. great asus community here, can i ask a few questions? which is more suitable for me if i use my laptop mainly in my room and do quite a lot of gaming like starcraft 2,skyrim,mw3 and during the day download torents i am now looking at N43 and also other A series, trying to get a 14" because once in a while i need to bring my laptop to class thanks in advance QUOTE(ErgoProxi @ May 20 2012, 11:16 AM) u got air-con, go for N43..... The A-series's cooling is't the best but yours is definitely a bit warm. My old A42JV doesn't hit more than 85C while gaming. no air-con, go for G55... mine A43sv. Overheat(9X 'C ) when I play Sniper Elite V2 on ultra setting for 2hours. T_T p/s: me still noob gamer.. |

QUOTE(ErgoProxi @ May 20 2012, 11:37 AM) dude, Sounds to me like you need a cooling pad for your laptop, my laptop idles 5C-10C lower than yours so I'm gonna take a guess that ambient temperatures are affecting it.my room temp is not 25'c but around 34'c @ normal day. night, around 30'c. it feels like a sauna around 12-3 pm. I dunno which idiot designed my room, the air circulation is terrible. already complained to hostel management but they did nothing. p/s: my lappy temp is normally around 56'c-58'c on standby in my damn room. |

QUOTE(ErgoProxi @ May 20 2012, 12:30 PM) 'm using a cooling pad now. it doesn't help much. True, but ambient temp in this case would be your sauna of a room's temp. Even outside, it's only about 28C. What if you use air-conditioning full time?ambient temp? THIS IS MALAYSIA!!! it's basically summer everyday. p/s: 'm logging off. cause it's already 12.28 pm. Sauna time in my room QUOTE(Hexane @ May 20 2012, 06:03 PM) hoho, thanks for the advice, turns out my dad bought me the N43, and the speakers are awesome, will update on the temp, but im using a laptop cooler, plus my area is quite ok for the temp and air circulation Well, you would have to mod the backlit keyboard yourself and it will void your warranty. hoho, now thinking of getting it a backlit,is it possible? QUOTE(yangchee98 @ May 20 2012, 08:30 PM) hi, my dad is interested in buying an ultrabook. i heard that an upgrade for ux31 is coming soon? i'm not so sure. i'm thinking of buying the 256GB version, so should i wait for the new model or should i just go with the current model? and if i want to buy it, what is the market price right now and where should i buy to get good price? i prefer places near subang Yes, the UX32 is coming soon but it probably wouldn't be equipped with a 256GB SSD and will instead rely on hybrid HDD. However, you do gain a higher resolution FullHD display, discrete GPU in the form of a GT620M and the Ivy Bridge CPU.thanks So it's really up to you, Personally I would say wait for what is to come. The current pricing for the 256GB UX31 is about RM4.5k. |

QUOTE(yangchee98 @ May 20 2012, 09:40 PM) hybrid hdd? never heard of that Hybrid HDD is a HDD with some flash memory. For example, the Seagate Momentus XT. It's a 750GB 7.200 rpm HDD with a 8GB flash cache. Performance wise it's faster than a HDD but still slower than the SSDs. So it's a good trade off of speed and capacity. the FULL HD display is pretty interesting, 13inch 1920x1080 sounds cool Well, not entirely sure yet, probably in a month or two. |

Probably would be cheaper than the current 1st gen models. Though by how much, that is to be seen.

QUOTE(Srious @ May 20 2012, 10:42 PM) Nope, the local SKU is only HD.QUOTE(Aztec @ May 20 2012, 10:45 PM) It's RM3.6k.It comes with an i7-3610QM, GT630M and a regular HD display. Only advantage you have is the more beautiful design and the Ivy Bridge CPU but I personally don't think it's a upgrade over the N5 series. |
