Yeah, it's pretty normal already. So long as it doesn't hit 100C, it's fine.
Then again, there's only so much heat a 14" laptop's cooling system can dissipate. |

Well, it's a good upgrade. Would have waited for the U47VC but then the battery life on mine was only capable of reaching 1 hour plus so cannot tahan already.

If I'm not mistaken, some shops are selling it.
Generally, the U46SV comes with an i5-2430M and a GT540M with 4GB RAM and 640-750GB HDD. |

QUOTE(ErgoProxi @ Apr 4 2012, 02:03 PM) my A43SV just overheat & died.... If HDD maybe a few days to a week. Just send directly to the service center in LYP yourself.HDD is barbecued...... just sent to a ASUS dealer 4 (warranty) repair... how will it take ? QUOTE(moiskyrie @ Apr 7 2012, 01:01 PM) finally got my a43sm....i7 Ahh, nice! Added on April 7, 2012, 8:26 pmwant to ask, how to update gpu driver? via asus or got other way? Just update it from the GPU maker's website. The ones in the Asus page are usually obsolete. QUOTE(intel2010 @ Apr 9 2012, 12:36 AM) i had a problem with a fn+key button.. the fn application just like not functioning.. anyone have a idea what the problem im had now You might have to reinstall the ATK Hotkey drivers.QUOTE(joeong @ Apr 9 2012, 07:17 PM) Hi guys, It's nothing but hardware flaw. If you plug the mic of a headset in, the mic will work and it is the same case if you plug n the audio jack. The main problem now is the bandings in the port. The iPhone handsfree has 3 bands on the jack but the port in the A42-series is only a 2 band version so headsets that rely on a single 3 band jack will not work as it can only function with 2 band jacks. Get where I'm going? Im using an ASUS A42JV Laptop on windows 7, and it comes with a built in microphone (on the monitor) as well as a single jack headphone & microphone port. for some reason i can never get my microphone to work and i think its because i may lack the right audio driver? also when i plug in a headset (single wired headset like apple iphones handfree set, the microphone doesnt work no matter how i try) (when i switch on the micrphones volume i hear superloud static) isit my drivers? anyone know how i can fix this prob? I just use a USB sound card so it can accept both mic and audio at the same time. |

Take some precaution when removing the DVD drive. Takes a bit of force to yank it out.

Well, this is still a relatively minor problem for now. It's up to you if you want to pay the RM150 for the case replacement.

I don't think case damage would count as it can be argued as user inflicted damage or from wear and tear. If it was there when you got it, then it can be considered manufacturing defect.

If you have to choose strictly between these 2 units, then the A43SM would be a better and more powerful choice.ASUS A43SM-VX216 ASUS A43SD-Color Series I still not sure which one am I going to get . I will be using the laptop for assignments , movies , songs and maybe some light gaming such as Football Manager 2012 , PES 2012 ... Which one should I get ? |

QUOTE(danleongwz @ Apr 30 2012, 01:49 PM) Probably at the end of the month.QUOTE(kennethkee93 @ Apr 30 2012, 11:28 PM) My Asus A53sv can go up to 90 degree without any extra cooling when the laptop started to utilize the nvidia gpu, is that normal? Yes, that's normal if the GPU kicks in.Btw, thinking of upgrading my ram to 8gb (currently 4gb), here's some question I'm curious to know 1. Will upgrading RAM affects/void the warranty? 2. How to choose the RAM type (for Asus A53SV)? 1. Will not void. 2. It will be using DDR3-1066 so just get back a compatible RAM brand with equal or faster clocks. Usually the same one would be best but if not, get Kingston. This post has been edited by AlexLai: May 1 2012, 01:58 AM |
