Well, the A43SM that was being reviewed did come packing a quad core i7-2670QM compared to the dual core i5-2430M in the A43SA.

Yeah, it's pretty normal already. So long as it doesn't hit 100C, it's fine.

Then again, there's only so much heat a 14" laptop's cooling system can dissipate.

Well, can ask those with A43SV as well since it's more or less the same unit, just rebadged GPU.


And anyway guys, I got my U41SV today. Loving it much, especially with its imba 9 hour battery life!

My A42JV will be sold off. Sad to see if go but have to get back some funds after forking out RM2k for the U41.

Well, it's a good upgrade. Would have waited for the U47VC but then the battery life on mine was only capable of reaching 1 hour plus so cannot tahan already.

Generally, the U46SV comes with an i5-2430M and a GT540M with 4GB RAM and 640-750GB HDD.

Iinm, it's 1GB but that's not important.

It's usually 5,400 rpm HDD.

Just update it from the GPU maker's website. The ones in the Asus page are usually obsolete.

You might have to reinstall the ATK Hotkey drivers.

It's nothing but hardware flaw. If you plug the mic of a headset in, the mic will work and it is the same case if you plug n the audio jack. The main problem now is the bandings in the port. The iPhone handsfree has 3 bands on the jack but the port in the A42-series is only a 2 band version so headsets that rely on a single 3 band jack will not work as it can only function with 2 band jacks. Get where I'm going?

I just use a USB sound card so it can accept both mic and audio at the same time.

Then you need to mod the .inf file for the driver to work.

Take some precaution when removing the DVD drive. Takes a bit of force to yank it out.

Just remove some bloatware. BIOS just leave it alone.

This isn't an ultrabook. It's categorized under "ultra mobility". The ultrabooks have the prefix of "UX".

Well, this is still a relatively minor problem for now. It's up to you if you want to pay the RM150 for the case replacement.

I don't think case damage would count as it can be argued as user inflicted damage or from wear and tear. If it was there when you got it, then it can be considered manufacturing defect.

Don't use it but it should be compatible with any Nvidia GPU.

What is your budget? If you have to choose strictly between these 2 units, then the A43SM would be a better and more powerful choice.

Yes, that's normal if the GPU kicks in.

1. Will not void.
2. It will be using DDR3-1066 so just get back a compatible RAM brand with equal or faster clocks. Usually the same one would be best but if not, get Kingston.
