Deep, requires more reading.

I know for 1 is that, it doesn't accept the normal SMSC phone number.

nope, my adventure is get good result on my final exam biggrin.gif
as for GNex, i think no hope cry.gif
because my final exam around next end of month start, then the result out at next semester which around May
and normally go for those phone announce in MWC / s3(normally get this)
or get nexus if those phone announce in MWC i not interested or don't have s3 and others
*
Then you can consider joining/starting the S3 thread. Be the pioneer if there isn't one already. drool.gif

TS mind adding the SMSC for U mobile on first page for fellow GNex users? Can gather the rest of the carrier's code as well, just in case you have itchy hands friends like mine. laugh.gif

and the maps 6.3.0 thingy @@
can just install like normal apk as long as is on rooted phone ?
*
Normal apk install way, would have 2 Maps icon. Some app would direct their intent to the built-in maps, which you'd lacked the Navigation. Use the adb push method to install.

*
What is this all about? Phone can't go to sleep after installing Volume+?

BTW, did you all notice something? Off SAMOLED on SGS is deep blue with slight greenish tint while GNex is... you guest it right, DEEP PURPLE. icon_idea.gif

I think the changeapn one is installed via the normal installation way, but I never tried. Give it a shot and see how it turns out.

Why a lot of user got problem with Maps 6.3.0.?
Sorry i'm not on GNex now that's why i ask :-P

I think he meant his phone cannot go deep sleep when using Volume+
*
What kind of problems regarding Maps 6.3.0?

I noticed that the misalignment of the photo in Latitude was caused by ICS @ screen resolution bigger than 480 x 800 (didn't test it on lower resolution). Right now both my GNex and GTab showing misaligned photo, while SGS is fine.

hmm, what is this SMSC problem? Mind explaining?
*
We can't save +6xxxx numbers into the SMSC field as ICS can't recognise it. Hence have to convert into SMSC+PDU format, which is in hexadecimal. Use the link provided by droid13579 to easily convert it. Capture the first 16 characters.

Standard 6.3.0, no provlem so far, but it doesnt have voice navigation...

Solution to first prob, used modified 6.2.0 instead...  biggrin.gif

Err... eh? I just used mine earlier just now. It does speak the road names. What seems to be the problem?

U mean the stock 6.3.0? Or the modified one from xda?
I have both installed when i tested it (stock n mod version)
That could be the cause voice map closes on me...
*
Stock Maps doesn't have turn-to-turn navigation for our country. The only way to go is to get Brut Maps.

If FC, most likely you installed it by running .apk file. Use the push to /system/data method. It very stable.

can teach how? or the 1st page got show?
*
Only for rooted phones:
Download maps6.3.0-ownhere.apk from here.

Execute this:
1. adb shell mount -o remount,rw /system
2. adb push maps6.3.0-ownhere.apk /system/app/Maps.apk

If above doesn't work, try to push/save the file into /sdcard first.

Then do this (make sure Busybox is installed):
adb shell
$ su
adb shell mount -o remount,rw /system
cp /sdcard/maps6.3.0-ownhere.apk /system/app/Maps.apk

Hope I didn't miss any steps. Been doing this so very often.

how do u all cure this? or this is just another known issue for all GNex and is absolutely normal? if this problem persists.. i think i just gotta let go of my GNex as i find the heat very irritating and annoying vmad.gif
*
It's sad to hear that, and I do have to agree it's probably the phone that heats up very fast, compared to SGS and SGS2 that I have handled. Not sure if it's an AOSP thing, as S2 heats up very fast when I first tried CM9 ROM, then it was better with leaked TW ICS. Reverting back to GB was the best la.

SGS wise, CM7, CM9 pretty much the same, just sucks more juice than stock ROM.

Anyway, if heat is a major concern, perhaps you can sell cheap cheap to XeactorZ (got spelled wrongly?)?

The easiest way is to look against a light source (TV, sun, light) with your screen. You'll notice the curved funny mirror effect (those that makes you look skinny/fat)
*
With the screen on, look toward the screen from the top part of the phone, parallel. Slowly tilt the phone until you see the Event Horizon.... boom, teleported to another dimension.

*
Talks about face unlock, I have never even use this feature once on my GNex.

Can't live without the quick access to the camera from the lock screen. Gotta credit Apple to this. sweat.gif

Codename Android ROM with CNA kernel on performance governor! Very nice ROM indeed thumbup.gif

EDIT : On 3G too

Are all the features/functions of the phone complete like original ROM?

Camera, Apps, Tethering, NFC, etc?

Looking to jump, but afraid some of the features not working then potong steam. sad.gif

Really?  I used both and S2 was the one heat up the most. Non g version and its hot compare to GNex
*
S2 heats up pretty much on the ROM that came with it cause I gave it a few hours of test run (yes, it was only on Wifi, without sim card yet)... then proceed to flash with CM9. CM9 was crippled, then hopped to leaked ICS ROM. Not nice and buggy also.

Finally settled it down with latest version of GB with local CSC and root it. Didn't even tweak. It's not heating up anymore when using wifi for internet connectivity. smile.gif

Yeah, it's non-G version.
