Did anyone know Average what's the labour cost of doing pepper wash per square feet. No water proofing. Thank you very much...
*
around the price of tiling work. actually nowadays, pro contrator dont use 'wash' technique anymore and the outcome is much better.

they are pebble but not the technique using cement and then 'wash'....the result of the pebble so .astonish good..

Hi, may i know know what is the pricing of paint work?
If looking for budget paint, is seamaster recommended?
Also, have you heard of EPL alarm system?
*
for paint work..for standard double storey house...with ici or nippon cost around RM4120. My existing house (not newly extension) paint is seamaster, i would not recommended seamater...mula2 cantik..lama2.....you know.....go for ICI,Nippon or Jotun. The price for seamater and branded not much differenc..dont waste your money on cheap paint...

for security alarm...my existing house using wireless Victoria Brand..boleh tahan lah..7 years already......if you want to install security..since you are doing reno..go for wired...wireless..one year next to change battery on the sensor...i never heard about EPL system...i would recommend you to go to Jalan Pasar...to survey for your security....so many brand and type..you will surprise some contractor take from there and mark up to price.....for CCTV go for brand such as Dlink...you can browse from anyware..so you can monitor you maid...haha.....cause Dlink provide you the web base when you buy the Dlink....Dlink can be connected to Streymx and Unifi (for Unifi need configuration at the box)...

Thanks for your prompt feedback.

You means pebble wash per sqf around RM 5?

Btw, what's is the process of doing the new "technique" pebble wash i wondering?

How to tell the sifu do the new way.

Thanks smile.gif
*

[/quote]

ur welcomed....now the new technique is not using cement and 'wash' the pebble..use special glue compound mix with the pebble that all..let the glue dry naturally...the special glue is available at shop selling pebble stone.....for pebble stone..there are gred also...make sure the pebble stone you buy is good quality..else..the pebble itself easily 'pecah dua'...my advised..dont use pebble stone for floor or drive way..you will regret later.............

the cost around RM2 sq ft..if include glue around RM4 sq ft.

good luck....

for sharing..I am thinking of using those tiny pebbles on my bathroom wall. Contractor tells me the pebbles are cheaper than tiles but the workmanship is the other way round. End up will be more expensive. Then I realised the house I am renting now has this small pebbles in tiles form. This is cheaper and workmanship is similar to laying normal tiles. only thing is you will see the lines between each tiles.
*
yes you are right..these pebble stone..after long..will have crack....thank for sharing...for me..no for pebble stone....but the choice is to the owner...

Is it then advisable for gate post? will rain and sun make them not durable? if it is hard to maintain, then i have to think of other design for gate post
*
for pebble stone..as long as you dont put on floor or drive way..its ok. And use glue material i mention (stronger) and not use cement and 'wash' method.

Tomjason,

What is difference of steel Y20 and Y12 for beam or pillar?

Thanks in advance.
*
Hi bro,

The Y20 and Y12 differences in size..the Y20 is consider big and suitable for high rise building. You need machine to bend it. For houses, the Y12 is sufficient but insisted to use BS standard Y12 and do not use CQ standard.

below is Y12 steel..you can image if size Y20.

Hi tomjason,

just to update you on the contractor work that we have discussed before..See my bakau wood pile..big rite. smallest I've measured is 4.7inches..
So now i feel safer with this contractor..the other contractor neighbouring houses, their wood pile is 3 inches max, some 2 inches (I measure from the wood pile thrown at the back of the house, indon worker staring at me). So I am confident with the contractor that I have chosen thanks to your feedback..although this guys is more expensive on paper...but looking the materials that he use, I dont think he is expensive..I think the other 2 contractors before are expensive because of the materials..

Also, this contractor protect my flooring with carpet! I was like WAH!..other ppl use canvas and plywood only..

and the frame for fencing foundation is 15 inches by 10 inches for the entire stretch of fence..and the depth is estimated 1.5 ft deep

Other houses only use 10 x 5 inches for fence
*
wah..good to hear about that... biggrin.gif

the kayu bakau you mention and the fencing foundation are correct....

do update on progress... biggrin.gif

See the bakau pile...I measure near the tip..coz some bakau is only thick at the center then becomes smaller and smaller nearer to tip......Anyway I inspect throughout the pile...quite consistent and they are taiwan's. RM15 per pcs.

The other contractor's pile smaller like 3 inches and senget senget so I am glad I picked this contractor although more expensive

I'm happy with my contractor..Thanks for your help
*
you are welcomed...

i very glad to hear that...

for the kayu bakau..nowadays..its is not very often we can get that big kayu bakau and the price is also reasonable...happy to hear that...

Today, i decided to give one of many more tips for house owner, for me i would plaster first, then install water piping and wiring later after plaster. That mean you have to cut the wall. This step, many contractor do not want to do this cause for them is messy. PM me if you want to know why?...
A good main contractor should do this. This is one indicator that if he/she is good and experience contractor.
