Yes. The choice is yours. If you hire local car with driver/guide, it is only from 0900hrs-1800hrs. After or before the hours mentioned, additional surcharge will be imposed. If you rent a car, you can drive around Jeju anytime you like. The car equip with GPS in English. I think average they charge KRW100,000 for 9 hours usage if you hire local car with driver to drive you around.

QUOTE(marver @ May 25 2012, 03:25 PM)
Thanks so much for ur advise notworthy.gif

I did the same thing too.I stay 1 nite in Seoul first. The next day flew to Jeju. Stored my luggage in the guesthouse. Most guesthouse have this service. Storage for luggage. When you make reservation, send your enquiry about luggage storage right away. Before your departure, you should get their answer already.

QUOTE(leonghan @ May 30 2012, 12:07 PM)
which guesthouse?? Btw, will they take care our luggage after re-check in?? I was thinking this way but wonder how to communicate with the guesthouse owner about this...

Everland is a theme park like Genting Highland or Sunway Lagoon. Even though I am not that old yet, but I am not into theme park. Just bring them to Namsan Tower, Cheongdokgung and Gyeongbokgung Palaces, shopping in Dongadaemun & Dongdaemun or KBS and MBC tv station. Even though both are tv station but they have one section as gallery and very interesting to see. Especially ahjummas. biggrin.gif

QUOTE(nles @ Jun 2 2012, 08:35 PM)
so COEX and yeoju probably not worth going right. Itaewon too.

Everland any good things for old folks? if it's only for children then no point also

Is near to KBS Building in Yeouido. Actually behind KBS main building. They call it Annex Hall. Yes, it is in Seoul. You can take subway & stop at Yeouido station or National Assembly Station Line 9.

Do you have Jeju map?? If you have, you will have an idea how to move around which ever area you stay. I stay in Seogwipo and drive around to the places of interest. Seogwipo basically is in the middle. It doesn't matter West or East, the duration still the same.

Another question, what do you want to see in Jeju?? West & East. Is difficult for us to guide you if you don't know what to do and what to see.

QUOTE(yvonnesoo @ Jun 6 2012, 02:14 PM)
tat's y deciding which area to stay haha.. tat's y wanna ask those tat been b4 jeju gif me some guidance.. let say if i stay in Seogwipo, 1st day visit West n 2nd day visit East or either way round better? thn hw bout visitation to Jeju-si area?? haf to drive all d way from East/West (after visitation of the places of interest) to Jeju-si and thn only bek to Seongwipo for overnite stay??

as i kno Jeju-si is near to the airport.. definitely more convenient if return the car bek to the car rental co..

Art Trick Museum is near to Mini Land.

I don't think you are able to visit all those places in 1 day unless you do touch n go tour.

Jeju - 714 sq mi
Melaka - 642 sq mi
Singapore - 274 sq mi

I use small road also because GPS will takes us longer route. But it was very quiet and creepy especially at nite. laugh.gif

Yeah, they sell chocolate. Bought tons of Jeju tangerine Harubang chocolate for friends and family. They have this buy 4 pack free 1 pack. Bought the fat tangerine at Seongsan Ilchubong. Cost us KRW5000 for 1 fat tangerine.

Seoryani Forest is actually same direction from Mini Land and on the way to Trick Museum. But we missed on the 1st day because we have to catch the Fantastik Show. We need to be at the theatre 30 minutes before the show. So we decided to go Seoryani Rainforest Path on the 2nd day.

QUOTE(bluefries @ Jun 7 2012, 11:54 AM)

Cost is depending on how many days you stay, what type of accommodation you take. Shopping money is vary depending what you plan to buy. If you are Muslim, you must prepare to spend a little bit on food. If not, you can bring your own canned food/maggie mee and eat out occasionally. Like us (me and my sisters), we only eat out twice because food is too expensive. 1 set of meal in Murri Restaurant cos us KRW15 thousand per person.

In my opinion, the only thing worth to buy in Korea is cosmetic and K Pop stuff beside souvenir. The rest, too expensive.

Don't go with tour package. THey only bring you to shopping places. Go by yourself is better. You can do what ever you wan, where to go at your pace of time.

QUOTE(gee gee @ Jun 7 2012, 01:11 PM)
I'm planning to go Korea by my own this August. Anybody know roughly how much does it need?
I check about the flight already, it's around RM700. Hotel RM150 per night.. but what about others(food, transport)?
Maybe taking tour package will be cheaperĀ  unsure.gif

Yeah, halal food is expensive. For me, I don't mind eating seafood (not neccesarily muslim restaurant). We ate seafood/ikan bakar in Dongdaemun, food is good and price is ok. Not too expensive. Near Myeondong also have 1 shop selling nasi goreng seafood. Is pork free. We had our dinner there on the 1st day we arrive.

QUOTE(Shazzac @ Jun 7 2012, 01:32 PM)
Now that you mentioned it, only I realised halal food is so expensive!! And I keep telling my friends that food is cheaper than japan but then again, i'm a non-halal eater.

The restaurant we went in Myeondong charge KRW15000 for a big plate of nasi goreng sea food. The 4 of us have to finish the nasi goreng even though we were already full. The portion is big. So I guess worth our money tongue.gif

Lotte duty free not cheap ler!! Not worth buying there.

QUOTE(bluefries @ Jun 7 2012, 02:17 PM)
In Myeondong, i feel their price is too expensive and too commercialize for tourist.

Hongik university there the food is cheap and good too.
Did anyone of you went to Lotte duty free in Myeondong ? (inside lotte department stall but is upper level)
You all can purchase thing there, they will deliver the items to Incheon Airport when leaving that time so that u no need carry around with you.
