It's not that rare. You can still find it on ebay(m'sia or US). But prepare to pay for it. I got my 20th Anni OP off Ebay M'sia for RM480(so so leh) about 2 months back. For MP01, prepare to pay premium as it can go up to RM800 or more for a MISB one.

LOLZ i love the Transformers however back when they 1st launch the toys, I found all of them are rigid and not much movement and can't do a lot of poses. Those days it was so expensive even now. I prefer to watch the cartoons than collect the toys.

when i was a kid my parents cant afford to buy me any of the transformers back in 1980s. so now i started buying them back but only getting those main characters only such as optimus prime. guess i am still the unlucky guy around with not many transformers

Hey not only you, my parents couldn't afford either back during those days. I could only oogle at departmental stores & toy'r'us carefully reading each and every Transformer write up behind the box. The only Transformer I had was Blaster, the Autobot communications expert that transform itself to a portable radio and that also my kind aunt gave me as a birthday present.

The newer generations aren't as cool as those 80s models (except for Optimus Prime ). The original cartoon is the best IMO. Maybe BeastWars is not bad either....

Was faced with the same senario here. It was pure agony when visiting dept stores! So close yet so far.... In my collection, I have only 2 Transformers and they aren't even my favourites, it's just bcoz they're the most affordable! Someday I'll get my hands on Optimus Prime! And maybe the hybrid that he became in one of the movies, the one where it was combined with a lion autobot of some kind... sorry but cannot recall clearly the details...

When I was young -- i used to have a couple of transformers as my playtoy

My dad have gotten them for me at the states as we were living there at that time -- he was finishing his studies

If I still recall I have the dynobots leader - Grimlock (one of my favourites)
Err one of the decepticon planes -- forgot his name but he's starscreams follower and is purple in colour.
another one I have is shockwave -- the transformers who would transform into a radio player.

All were still in great condition as I've taken really good care of them untill my younger brother came -- too bad.

Actually according to a reliable source, Transformers came out of Takara's Microman series. It was repackaged into Transformers in the country of all evil -- America. What I mean by evil is they turned Macross into Robotech, Microman into Micronauts (anybody remember the super lame Marvel series?), Naruto into that dubbed Na-rule-tow trash without all the kickass Japanese rock songs. America just sucks harry potter balls man. And these days they give us Transformers but no chogokin (超合金)! It's only a piece of cheap plastic from some non-descript China company but it costs over 1000 ringgit! (exaggeration to make a point only) Crazy or not?

VCD or VHS? If VHS I kneel down to you. Or Betamax I should set up a shrine for you. That's a 1986 show man..... A time when nobody has even heard of the word anime. And it's only the name of a strange Japanese magazine, which you couldn't even find in Malaysia. These days any bloody kid can download it with bittorrent.

And the cassette player is not shockwave but soundwave. Shockwave is a purple decepticon with one yellow eye that can transform into a laser gun.
