getting it all at once? o_o;
Alternators and Binaltech is the same thing right?
the optimus binaltech is a must thing to have.. XD
*
There are differences between Alternators and Binaltech. First off, Alternators are molded in plastic while Binaltech is molded in die cast metal hence the BT are almost twice the price of an ALT.

Secondly, will be the difference in packaging and the instruction manual. The BT packaging is nicer and comes with a booklet while ALT comes with one piece of fold out instruction manual only.

Thirdly, there maybe different colour schemes. Take for example Prowl. The ALT version is casted in fugly blue plastic while the BT version comes in grey. Another difference would be the accessories such as Windcharger/Overdrive blaster.

One more major thing is that BT are made by Takara while ALT are made by Hasbro.

Btw, you do not call the Optimus Prime a Binaltech sweat.gif

There are two variations to it again. One by Takara called Masterpiece Optimus Prime (MPO1) and the other by Hasbro (20th Anniversary Optimus Prime). Both are exactly the same in terms of material(die cast metal+plastic), but the MP01 comes with longer smoke stacks and no battle damage. thumbup.gif

lol, I got my 7 ALT and 1 BT in the span on 2 weeks. tongue.gif

It's not that rare. You can still find it on ebay(m'sia or US). But prepare to pay for it. I got my 20th Anni OP off Ebay M'sia for RM480(so so leh) about 2 months back. For MP01, prepare to pay premium as it can go up to RM800 or more for a MISB one.

Ah, ic. Yah, BT seems to be more popular with the shops. But you can find ALT also in M'sia.

Oh, alright. My bad. Yups, saw that. Some ppl like it, some don't. I personally think it's cool except for the legs. Hope they change it before it goes into production.

When I was young -- i used to have a couple of transformers as my playtoy

My dad have gotten them for me at the states as we were living there at that time -- he was finishing his studies

If I still recall I have the dynobots leader - Grimlock (one of my favourites)
Err one of the decepticon planes -- forgot his name but he's starscreams follower and is purple in colour.
another one I have is shockwave -- the transformers who would transform into a radio player.

All were still in great condition as I've taken really good care of them untill my younger brother came -- too bad.
*
It's Dinobots, not dynobots.

Anyways, the purple jet is Skywarp.

And the cassette player is not shockwave but soundwave. Shockwave is a purple decepticon with one yellow eye that can transform into a laser gun. biggrin.gif

Aw, that sucks.

Stated retail price usually gets 20% discount or more at some shops..MP3 for about RM200... retail stores at least in my present area.. are not stocking that much MP4... or at least on display... (its higher price and retail stores dont want to take the risk of unsold items..??)

p.s. mp-3 does have a metal rack of sorts holding the body, Based on F-15E Strike Eagle which is a 2 seater..MP-3 only one... but because of the 1/60 scale fits most 1/60 gundam pilots..Kira Yamato piloting F-15E Strike Eagle/StarScream

Had a go with my fren's Starscream yesterday. It looks better in alt mode. Furthermore, the quality is utterly disappointing.

The sprues from the arms, hands etc were clearly visible. It looked like some noob Gundam modeller had built it.

Also, there is no die cast component whatsoever [cept for the air brakes if I remembered correctly].

Lastly, the black wash in some areas were overly done.

IMHO, they should make the legs heavier, as it will tip over to the back if there is no stand. The legs are also quite flimsy.

Overall, I would think that MP OP definitely pwns SS anytime in terms of value for money.

Air brakes are all plastics..except for skrews. hinges, front landing gear/wheel and the endo skeleton/rack (a piece of metal 7mm thick) holding the body parts.. Quality.. I say comparable to macross 1/48 which I have. Only 2 plastic colours are used .. greenish/grey and blue (not including head) ..red, white, silver colours are painted on..
As hitler had said... mass produced and paniting of product are based on individual...b.t.w. one of the eyes of my SS was not painted on.

I see, thanks for the info bro.

OMFG, there is definitely something wrong the QC ppl over there then.

i actually dont mind inconsistent blackwash and worn-off paint on starscream. if u've ever seen a real life fighter jet, the wear and tear is always that apparent... makes it look a little more realistic. but of course there are people who prefer it nice and clean...
*
Why not burn the wings abit to make it more realistic? tongue.gif

You can make it a a shot down variant, akaka.

Mind to elaborate more on the removable leg feature bro?

I feel really dumb now. I paid 480 for a Hasbro 10thAnni OP. If I have waited a year later, might have gotten MP04 with a a bit extra.

Wow, the Mp-03 starscream DOES looklike thundercracker. The colors aint that right I guess.

So anyone can tell me how much the starsream cost now? I wanna get it even thought the colors not nice. Still, I like the mold.  smile.gif
*
It looks closer to a real plane with this colour scheme. I was against it at first, but after awhile, it just looks awesome. Just got mine today.

My guess is RM350.

Nice pics there. Well, Im getting my mp-03 tomorrow. Definitely less than RM350. It seems the color is green instead of grey.  wink.gif

Btw, anyone of you getting stress marks on the joints for your mp-03?
*
Thanks. Good fer you bro. I got mine about 300. RRP is Rm350 but I am sure there will be discounts of course. biggrin.gif

Yups, it is definitely green and not grey.

The paint on top of the missile pods are starting to wear off revealing green plastic. My advice is not to open the pods too much. smile.gif

I see, thanks for the advice. Although there are some major issues with starscream, but honestly, kudos to the designer for making such an awesome mold.

Another question, if it's alright.  smile.gif  Currently there's only tomy-takara version of mp-03 or is there a hasbro version. What I gathered is that mostly it's made in China now?
This mold is starting to grow on me and I can't wait to get it.  biggrin.gif I never collected any starscream other than the cybertron one (the big one).

Well, RM300 is a good price. Definitely worth the money, IMHO. thumbup.gif
But actually I can get cheaper than that. Around RM250+.  wink.gif

Anyway, those are nice pics really, hope to see somemore pics of starscream in bot mode with different posings from you.  thumbup.gif
*
Shoji Kawamori is definitely the man.

Sure, no worries. We collectors are meant to share stuff. biggrin.gif

There is only the Takara version right now but Hasbro may secure the mould and produce one themselves. We'll just have to wait and see.

But expect it to be gheyer, such as shorter missiles and less sharp edges.

You can see that Hasbro has watered down the MP01 with their version with shorter smoke stacks and also the newest release feature features a very ghey paint scheme for his blaster. doh.gif

I guess you can safely say most of the toys or figures that are produced in the market today are from China.

The main line I collect for TF is Alternators as they just look so good both in Alt and robot mode.

Wow, where did you get that price from? If you do not want to disclose it publicly, drop me a pm.

Thanks, but I guess if I take more pics, it'll be more or less the same as his articulation is limited. Especially at the legs.

His thigh pads are non movable and this severely limits articulation. Well, you'll know soon enough when you get yours. smile.gif
