AA is at T2 - Terminal 2.

MTR free, are you sure?
http://www.mtr.com.hk/jplanner/flash_eng/i...&eid=5&x=22&y=5

Airport Express Travel Pass
https://www.paydollar.com/b2c2/AELControlSe...eng&catid=10000

Airport Express Round Trip Ticket
https://www.paydollar.com/b2c2/AELControlSe...eng&catid=10020

Tourist Day Pass
https://www.paydollar.com/b2c2/AELControlSe...elshop〈=eng

details here
http://www.mtr.com.hk/eng/fares_tickets/index.html

Octopus - need to buy at HKD150 - 50 deposit, 100 credit... if you use until the value is negative, you need to topup. 50 deposit is refundable (minus hkd9 is return in less than 3 months)

If you plan to stay more than 2 days, better get the octopus rather than get tourist day pass. Octopus can be use in most places like 7-11.

http://www.octopus.com.hk/get-your-octopus...s/en/index.html

Octopus is like TnG in malaysia.

HK airport only have 2 terminal... are you refering to gate number?

Who have android phone with NFC can use this software to check Octopus balance.

HK Airport Terminal 2 is actually a check in hall without any gates. Terminal 2 is just opposite Terminal 1 and you will have to come up to Terminal 1 to board your plane anyway. You exit via the right door instead of the left for Terminal 2 if you take the Airport express train.

You mean fares for the Airport express? I have never disembarked at Tsing Yi. I think its about HKD 80 for Kowloon station and HKD100 for Hong Kong station. I am not sure about the exact fare because I use the Octopus card since I travel to HK every month. You can buy a return ticket as well. You can even get on the train first and pay when you get off.

Where exactly in Yau Ma Tei are you going to? Have a look at Airport Bus No. A21 bus route - might be a more direct option than taking Airport Express + MTR.

There's a screen displaying the name of bus stop, quite easy to take the bus if it does run along your destination.

Bus fare HKD 33.

Bus A21, bus stop no 9 - name of bus stop: Man Ming Lane, Nathan Road. From the bus stop, walking distance to Casa Hotel: 3 mins, 240meter (if cross the road thru proper traffic light)

Frankly, I'm not confident to take bus in other states in Malaysia too. BUT, HK buses are ok, coz mostly have screen display of bus stop's name onboard, and there's website to check the route and plan beforehand. Nowadays, can even get mobile app for HK bus.

Yes, octopus card from the airport - good for bus, MTR, tram, 7-11, movie tickets etc.

If you are considering to take bus instead, you can use Google Map to locate the bus stop and the hotel.

For those who never went to Hong Kong, based on my own experience, HK have the best public transports if compare to other country. I not even dare to compare with Malaysia. Japan, UK, France may have the best train (lrt/subway or what ever they call) but HK have all, taxis, bus, ferry, tram, mtr.

If you have android phone, the times table and info can be downloaded to your phone. Search for HK and plenty of software available (which malaysia still lack of this).

I'd suggest to pay cash for the airport bus, one person tell the driver total pax and pay the total bus fare, no need everyone take out octopus card and tap. Afterall, for airport bus, the fare is the same whether cash or octopus.

Every time I take the airport bus, I'd like to pay cash too, coz I find it easier just to drop the exact amount (into the box) and settle my baggage on the rack provided, rather than to tap the octopus card, keep/hold the card then settle the baggage.

The octopus card you can buy at the Yau Ma Tei MTR station later.

Group of 10 ppl, no jokes ah.... no wonder you headache ah...

Just back from HK, rainy on friday, saturday and sunday was windy, perfect for travelling

Previously there is a forumer recommend Golden Wave Hotel, it was clean and the price is reasonable, Mr Chong (owner) is friendly thumbup.gif

Regarding the transportation to Airport, it is advisable to take Bus as it is cheaper and much more convenient, 15min waiting time only
