For Internet Explorer, go to Tools >> Internet Options >> Connections >> LAN settings >> Proxy, and key in the address, and port number... A similar method applies to Firefox.. look around lah, I am a bit lazy lolz! biggrin.gif

in osx , u go to system prefs , choose your connection and (e.g bulit-in ethernet) and enter

for jwbb folks , get sockscap or use bitcomment or microTorrent (AKA uTorrent) and set that proxy. it might take some time for you guys to actually download the data (speed is quite good around 15-20kb/s..for those jaring wbb folks who can't bt)..as for streamyx , not sure...not tested , would love to hear what speed they are getting

for games = it does not work..sorry...
.
btw , nice Charty..great finding..u run proxy scanner or what...hehehehehe , nice list..it seems to be one of the tmnut's best "servers" ever..i think this servers are for biz users .

Can somebody tell me something, please ?

All those proxies are only for HTTP ? or it can be used for everything ?

Uses of proxies affect download of eMule ? My eMule is downloading at very low speed now, anything to do with the proxies ?

Thanks in advance...

i tried to use multiproxy [ can be downloaded at http://www.multiproxy.org/ ]

this program will auto rotate between various proxy servers. but dont know why, it wont work. i pinged the proxy servers and they all return below 100ms results but when multiproxy tests the proxy servers, it says the ping are hundreds or even thousands...why?

there're nothing wrong with your setting, there're something wrong with streamyx's proxies, it's normal, if normal surfing is good, i suggest you not to use the proxies very often, your patience are very much needed.

For non-confidential matters, using a proxy server is harmless.

In general it's not advisable to login to Yahoo/Gmail/Maybank2u through a public proxy.

the proxy does not work for SSL ,. if you have SSL checked it (aka HTTPS)..UNCHECK it or dont use proxy for gmail , or other sites that are on HTTPS protocol..

Gaming = sorry it does not forget....You need direct connection for that. The proxy does not allow certain ports that games need..So its useless...In certain cases , latency might go up...

You're getting error 999 after entering password right? biggrin.gif

This is quite normal with public proxies, cause Yahoo bans certain proxies if a lot of bandwidth is coming from them. cool.gif

These proxies are strictly for World-wide Web browsing (aka "surfing websites"). They are not for P2P apps, games, etc. Any further questions asking about that, will be deleted without notice.

if u using BT client while surfing your web browser take a long time to connect, or even time out maybe because of the half-open connection limit is reached on the client........you can alter the maximum connection limit using LvlLord's TCPIP.SYS patcher

It's been the convention for TMNet to use BRF to signify Brickfields. Considering their international gateways and Hypernet terminate there, it makes sense that their CDNs are placed there, rather than Penang.

It's a transparent HTTP 1.1 proxy.

It would be great if tmnut has another equally fast proxy for Socks5. rolleyes.gif

Your download speed is good. Just read the diagnosis, it says you are running 29.81% faster than the average for your host. But for the upload, abit problem I suppose.

Jaring server is local wherelse testmy.net is international. It takes a shorter time to reach jaring compared to testmy.net. Moreover, streamyx seemed to have international link issues. smile.gif

LOL i am doubt this thread will help much. how abt when the proxy server u choose is busy? that will certainly doom u. furthermore pls check out the definition abt proxy server. all u can do is changing the windows' registry for some tcpip tweak to sqeeze the last drop of ur bandwidth(i made the tweak, i can reach around 390kbps DL when connection under best condition, while others only 220~230kbpsDL, [TM adv says 384kbps DL for 512 package, still dun understand y do more than TM/s cap LOL]). and the rest are not under ours(consumers) control. streamyx sucks!!

Very hard to find a good one la. Once it is found, everyone will use it and overload it. That is what happened to the proxies previously posted here. smile.gif

Generally, we do not use these proxies for online games. These are proxies which mainly function for http connection. Moreover, most of the proxies are not working anymore.

Guys,

Over the weekend I found some open TMnut proxies for HTTP.
I tested on some US sites, i dun think speed is very impressive but better than direct connection (for non-Asian websites). However it works fine for Internet Radio.

219.93..106
219.93..107
219.93..108
219.93..109

Japan
HTTP Proxy : planetlab2.koganei.wide.ad.jp
IP : 202.249.37.212
Port : 3128
Please use HTTP Proxy instead of IP as CoDeeN network does not accept IP numerical address. YouTube quite ok. Only use for browsing but NOT speedtest.

Try it out and leave some comments.

That particular proxy server is a transparent proxy server and still passes your IP address. If you need anonymous proxy server please google for "proxy server" and you can get a very good list and types of proxy servers. Whether it works or not is another matter.

Did it work before that?

Proxies are also quite temperamental (sometimes work, sometimes not). Even my browsing during daytime using proxy also slow but at night okay.

I have just tried the above proxies and it doesn't seem to work for browsing. It could based on your location. Some proxies which work perfectly well for one person may not not even work for another.

I have not tried it with Torrent client.

AFAIK, There are no good free proxies can be used for BT downloading.

Even if u find one, chances are they'll shut it down within days, or the speed very inconsistent.

MY QUESTION :-
Anyone know of a good commercial proxy that supports torrents? I tried google search but cant seem to find any. I dont mind paying, as long as my speed is constant (roller coaster effect is ok to me though). I'm getting bored of recycling proxies, and exhausted the list on xproxy alredy, I think sooner or later I will not be able to get any speed off the list there.
Perhaps you can try subscribing to their Elite user groups? I think it has some proxies not available to the public. Maybe it will last longer and faster?

If your connection to international sites is already bad, then there is no point using international proxies. The proxy I am using is Malaysian and good enough for browsing and direct downloads BUT not BT. However, my BT can sometimes hit 90kB/s if they are a lot of local seeds. Only once in a blue moon can I get quite high DL rate from international seed.

Direct downloads using DAP8 can usually hit 100kB/s so for the time being I'm quite "happy" with it.

Correct me if I'm wrong please.

Browse the following site for more interesting reading:

http://www.aliveproxy.com

Not sure whether it works or not.

The proxy must have not wanted the users to suck their bandwidth through video streaming or large downloads.

When you check proxy; it is from international site to Malaysian proxy. That is why most of the time it seems that it is down. If you are in Malaysia, then the best proxy is of course Malaysian proxy.

The proxy I'm using now (219.93.175.68:3128) seems okay so far for me.

It is working but you may get the same speed, lower speed or higher speed. Also please don't forget to do portforwarding in your modem/router if you have not done so.

I don't know about d-link but my aztech does not have any place to put in proxy. Most software including browsers, torrent clients, antivirus applications, etc., etc. have a place for you to put in your proxy settings. Just look for it. Even when I have set the proxy for my antivirus application, I always have to look for it because I forget where the settings are.

Which particular software are you using that you want to use a proxy?

You don't actually put it into the router's settings. If you want to surf the internet with proxy, go to Internet Explorer. Click tools, internet options. Select the "connections" tab. Click LAN settings and select the option to use proxy server. Enter the proxy's IP address and port.

The similar concept applies to firefox, bittorrent clients and many other internet related programs.

Its not modem/hardware based to configure proxy... its using under your browser i.e, Internet Explorer or any other browser. Basically, software based to get it working.

surfing the net with proxy is only fast if the cache is in the proxy server. otherwise, it's just an additional hop for the connection headed.

it is not the software problem actually
but the proxy itself

if you are not in good timing and they close their server
then you will in slow speed

Maybe already too many people using OR the administrator start to limit the speed or number of connections.

but in the ZT modem given by tm.net, there was a need to configure username and password during the setup process using the CD.

so for the aztech modem, how do i configure? or is it because it is broadband, i do not need to configure it like a dial-up using password and username. all i need to do is to use a proxy address?

i notice in the "Connection" tab under the ZT modem configuration, there is no proxy address specified.

thanks for advice.

As far as I know, you cannot set up proxy server in the modem itself. Please go through the earlier thread if you have not done so. The answer to your question as been answered earlier.

i understand your comments, and i have read earlier posts concerning setting proxy addresses within the 'Connection" tab of the browser. This i have no problem.

but i am still blur with one issue: the CD that comes with the ZTE modem given by TM.net, when installed, asked for Username and password.

now if i switched to Aztech adsl modem, the installation CD is NOT customised to TM.net settings. so without setting username and password, how can i use the aztech modem to connect to streamyx.

and it is not dial-up plan for your information. it is the broadband plan that cost RM77 per month one.

thnks for comments again.

Proxy hunting are we? I did that for almost one week. In the end, I got fed up and just use 219.93.175.68:3128. Still not bad for browsing but different story if BT.

Proxy servers may or may not work with BT in my experience. Usually if you find the proxy server, it will list what socks is supported.

BT always use socks 5

if i connect using proxy? can the network admin see which website i'm surfing? or in his network monitoring software just see all my connection to proxy server only? for example let say i went to www.google.com, so instead of he see the web address or he only see the ip adrdess of the proxy server?

Blocked? search! Blocked again? search again !

http://www.cybersyndrome.net/ (japanese website)

i normally go Speed ranking, test every proxy until i get the best one. Proxy
with .sa .jp .mx is not recommend cos they will effect the Google. Or u can go country code, test out other countries proxy.

i now using 202.82.116.26 : 3128. (hong kong proxy).

dunno when Screamyx will block it again. doh.gif

Btw, all this are international proxy, hope u all understand the effect. smile.gif

I notice that some have good results and some bad results using the proxy.

It could be because of your IP address. Mine is 60.52.x.x and the proxy I am using is as good as 219.93.175.68:3128. Hope they don't close it too soon.

You can type it in directly or if you want to know the IP address, just goto a command window and use the ping command.

Hope that answers your question.

Nope!!! Only 219.93.175.66:3128 seems to be working nowadays.

Try 165.228.130.10:3128 (Australian) as mentioned by someone earlier in this thread. Might work for you. Please feedback.

He is using the proxy but I think it also depends on your IP address and location. I always get 60.52 IP and so far 219.93.175.66:3128 seems to work fine with me for browsing purposes. Even using the proxy for HTTP download using Download Accelerator Plus also no problem and can get up to 160KBps (kilobytes).

TMnet screamyx alredi do bandwidth/access control for bittorrent protocol,

TM's 219.93.175.66 and 219.93.178.162 proxies are always an on/off affair. Sometimes they close , then re-open and close again. I give up lol

A bit off-topic.
I read somewhere that we can hide our ip address by some clocking software like proxify.com
Is this works?
How will others or moderators see my ip address if i use the service?

If your direct connection is faster than using proxy then no need to use proxy. As far as I know, proxies can only work when you download directly.

Not all proxy server on the net are alive all the time so you need to test out which one works for you and most of the time it will be down. For others, it may be fast. It may even depend on the country you are from.

Flashget can use proxy because it is http or direct download. If Thunder is the same, then should be able to.

Looks like 219.93.178.162:3128 is down now. It's back to the old not-so-broadband for me. I really hope it comes back up or Streamyx is useless for internet. (And I'm not even talking about downloading or Youtube, LOL.)

Anybody got another working Streamyx proxy I can use?

Proxy is safe for general browsing. But don't use it when you are receiving/sending confidential info (such as online banking).

Not all proxies are active all the time. Just try one by one until you find something which works for you and even then, there is not guarantee that it will work 24/7.

FIREFOX

Option --> Advanced --> Network --> Settings

manual proxy configurations. Masukkan IP .. dan Port ..

contoh : 64.66.192.62:80 = IP:PORT

pastu save..

check IP korang dekat http://whatismyip.com atau tgk menu kiri site jiwang torrent..
Untuk guna dekat Internet Download Manager pun lebih kurang juga caranya..

Internet Download Manager

Downloads --> Options -- Proxy
Use HTTP Proxy [OK]

Kena pandai pilih server, setengah server laju di server europe, setengah laju di asia... pandai2 la test semua ip ..

Good Luck!!

The proxy is working on and off. It usually almost always works for me if direct connection to overseas is very slow. I'm not sure about everyone else though.
