Guys, where I should go to get a treatment for anxiety? I'm suffering from anxiety that makes me unable to function properly in a social situation and in the workplace. My mind goes blank whenever I feel nervous and therefore can't perform my job efficiently.

The right place to treat ur anxiety is to talk with someone about your problems, probably your love ones, family or relatives, they can able to give advise or willing to share some experience.

Never had confidence in doing anything. Feel very scared and anxious all the time, especially in new environment. |

QUOTE(seanwc101 @ Feb 8 2012, 08:33 PM) Guys, where I should go to get a treatment for anxiety? I'm suffering from anxiety that makes me unable to function properly in a social situation and in the workplace. My mind goes blank whenever I feel nervous and therefore can't perform my job efficiently. Hi Sean,When our condition is not serious, sometimes talk with people that we trust is good, if they are being non-judgmental and able to empathize us. When the condition is a bit serious or unusual, it might not be enough to talk to someone around us. Especially when you are not feeling comfortable to talk about your condition, it would be good to see a counselor, they are normally private and confidential (you should confirm with them about this before you start with them). Usually counselor would know after a few sessions, that whether counseling is enough for you. In the case for people who is more serious, they might need to take medicine first, because their condition already affect the body/physical functioning. If counseling is not enough for you, a responsible counselor would tell you about that honestly and refer you to other appropriate profession, either see that profession first, or seeing both concurrently. Hope this give you a bit idea of how you could proceed. Blesses... |

You could go to the Kuching GH, see the GPs at the outpatient department, explain your condition and then ask for a referall to a psychiatrist, preferably one who knows hypnosis (not all are trained in this). The psychiatrist could then treat you with drugs, counselling, cognitive behavioural therapy and hypnosis. Otherwise, the GP may in the meantime prescribe you some mild anxiolytics like Ativan, Tranxene and Xanax. He may also place you on an SSRI like Zoloft. Anxiety is a common condition seen daily by these people.
