Mainboard / motherboard K.O.

Need to send in to BlackBerry specialist to get it repaired.

Just explain the same symptom to them.

Heads up.

Instagram for BB7 (3rd party dev) is available.

Not exactly full feature, but workable, usable.

I suggest that you buy a BlackBerry 10 phone instead of a BlackBerry 7 model instead. Its cheaper, and better.

Bb7 still require BIS plan to use data right? Becoz the only model I"m interested with is just bold 9900....I did ask some user regarding the support of mobile hotspot of 9900...some said yes some said no...my main usage is call,SMS, moderate web browsing (served as 2nd phone, digi prepaid smart plan which come with free call, free SMS and data just like postpaid) but BIS reli draw me back from buying the phone yawn.gif

well to answer:

BlackBerry 10 doesn't use BIS.
Bold 9900 is a BlackBerry 7 model, and yes it uses BIS.

The nearest model to Bold, assuming you want a keyboard, is the Q5 (curve like) or Q10 (Bold like, no belt).

If you like belt, wait for November, the Q20 will come (its the same like Q20, just that it has a belt like 9900). Or the BlackBerry Passport (which has a unique 'hybrid touch-sensor-enabled keyboard'

I think you'll love the Passport. Do not be deceived by its looks.

It can fit a screen bigger than most "small sized" androids of yesteryears. No joke. You can even put an iPhone 4 (not iPhone 5) screen in it, either horizontally or vertically.

And remember when people cry that iPhone (pre iPhone 5) had the "perfect" screen size? All that, crammable into the Passport's width or height (rotate either way)

So I don't believe you cannot do things like watch movie on a Passport.

Not exactly.

iPhone 5 has a larger screen compared to iPhone 1->4s, if I recall correctly.

The passport's screen can acomodate the ENTIRE of iPhone's screen, which makes it ridiculous for the rabid Apple fans to even cry foul that Passport = not big enough to consume media.

the youtube video shown that the video resolution is nt fully supported by 1440x1440, which means some apps wont be fit in well in passport , the screen size ratio is 4:3 or 1:1?

its not up to date. After the video was revealed only then the newer SKU and SDK was revealed where they would use unit length instead of fixed pixel height and width.
