1. How To Check And Update Your Blackberry OS system
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «
Upgrading Procedure for an Official OS release is as follows:
1. Download the OS and install it on your PC. (Make sure you have already removed any older OSes you have installed on your PC by going to Add / Remove Programs in Control Panel)
2. Delete the vendor.xml file (located in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader)
3. Backup your 3rd party applications ( optional recommended step )
4. Connect your BlackBerry to your PC and right click on a file named Loader (located in the same place where you found the vendor.xml > C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader\Loader.exe) and select '' Run As Administrator ''
5. Follow the prompts and make sure you select the languages and applications you wish to be installed. The Loader will backup and restore your data by default.
Still Having Issues !!? I would recommend using BBSAK to Upgrade, so
- Uninstall the OS(s) you already have installed on your PC - Delete the folder (research in motion) in ( c: \program files\common files\research in motion ) - Restart your PC

And here we go with another updated OS for the BlackBerry Bold 9900. This time around we're looking at OS 7.1.0.205 for the masses but not a whole lot is know about it as of yet, so we'll leave that in your hands to let us know what's new, what's broke and what's awesome. Make sure you load a back up first. Oh, and if luck is with us we should also see it for the 9860 and the 9810 as well soon.
*OS Disclaimer - Please Read: Keep in mind this is NOT an official release and as such is not supported by RIM or your Carrier. If you choose to install, do so at your own risk and only if you're comfortable in the process of upgrading and downgrading your device software. It is quite normal during operating system development for certain features to be crippled or disabled while others are tested, and these beta builds often reflect that. They are not always better. Depending on your BlackBerry comfort level, it may be best for you to wait for community feedback on a build before deciding to download and install for yourself or simply wait for the next official release. If you require support, you will find it in our CrackBerry forums via our extremely knowledgeable community base - do not contact your carrier or RIM for Beta OS technical support (their first course of action will be to advise you to downgrade to a supported OS). *

Is it a normal issue for bold 9900. Is there any way to solve the issue rather than doing backup? Are u using the official os or u have upgrade it to 7.1?
