Interior although it's plastic, but they are installed nicely and firmed. Plus, it's a high quality of plastic....hehehe
How do you define as 'high quality' plastic? How does 'low quality' plastic look / feel like?

Maybe the click sound it is indication of ABS starts to work. I remember I read that from some owner manual (other car). You can check your owner manual
ABS start to work will emit a clicking sound? Why? ABS is not an active system rite? It only functions during hard braking. hmm.gif

It should be active, it will constantly monitor individual wheel speed and braking.
If it detects the wheel locking up, it will trigger. Otherwise you won't know it's there.

If your ABS malfunction you should get an ABS light on the dashboard. Then your brakes will just work like normal non-ABS car.
Yes i meant that its not active in the sense that it doesnt function to aid braking continously but yes the sensors are still on the moment u switch on the engine. But still doesnt explain the clicking sound?

there you go.......low quality plastic......u should know which brand in M'sia can tell u that
Well i think plastic is still plastic and the Japanese car makers are now opting for that in a bid to reduce costs which is bad as u surely dont wanna be in a frontal accident with plastic dashboards which can splinter and hurt front occupants badly. Not sure hows the US version of the Civic. Same dashboard?

Splinter...hmmm..i thought they capped this civic compliance with watever euro ncap safety standard or something like that? Weird..
Euro NCAP frontal crash tests are done at 64kmph which would usually not deliver the force of the impact into the passenger cabin thus making dashboard deflections minimal. I would think the effect of poor dashboards will be felt more in higher speed crashes. But then again i could still be wrong.

So far fc for 2.0 is ok..much better than previous fd model due to SOHC engine without compromising the power.

Average full tank with 70% city 20% highway and 10% jam.. Can go the miles around 450+-km without ECON mode
Always use L/100km. Much easier for comparison and future reference.

Anyone Sierra yet?
Sierra is worth it. For RM 700 (Optima) and 5 years warranty its a good deal even if it lasts only 3 years.

No it doesnt stop. It just prevents the car from being restarted once switched off.

My personal opinion...

Petronas --> Ok

Shell --> The worst petrol ever in Malaysia IMHO. Even the current V-power is crap

Esso --> I like the RON97, the least knocking ever.

Caltex --> Used to be my favorite, but doesn't seem to be compatible anymore after my engine compression was increased.

BhP --> Ok
Yes seems that more and more ppl are not having nice things to say bout Shell. Sadly, due to the Shell card i have to stick to it. cry.gif

My IMiD reading crusing at legal speed showed 16.5km/l over long distance drives.
I fully embraced the coming AES cameras. cry.gif 1.8 is good enough for me. Just need something with strong reliability and good space for the family use. And, must have VSA. blush.gif
Its good that you place an emphasis on Stability Control. Everybody should as well. Its now as basic as seatbelts in US, Europe and Australia. rclxms.gif

Honda Car Sales July 2012

The Malaysian division of Honda has recently posted record sales for July 2012 after the Japanese based automaker managed to sell a total of 5,045 units of its cars.

Last month (July), Honda Malaysia managed to sell a total of 5,045 cars, a record for the period and a great comeback for the car manufacturer after the Melaka plant has stopped production in October, 2011, because of the Thai floods.

“It is with great joy and excitement that we can share this good news with our customers. We had to start this year on a challenging note, however we strived to recapture our high spirits and confidence believing that our Challenging Spirit will help us rise stringer from the dire straits in 2011. And today we are most delighted to announce this record sales achievement in July”, says the Honda Malaysia CEO and MD, Yoichiro Ueno.

[b]The best-seller in July was the Honda City, with 2,217 units, followed by the Civic with 1,094 units, CR-Z with 649 units, CR-V with 279 units Civic Hybrid with 185 units, Accord with 136 units and Jazz Hybrid with 261 units,

Funny seeing the Accord with such poor sales. Even the Sonata and Optima posted higher sales. But i guess thats cuz many would have opted for the new Camry which saw sales of 1,400+ units.

Hey guys. I have been searching for specific forum for 9th gen civic. It seems like we do not have one. Anyone interested in creating or maintaining one? I know how to create simple forum.. but running a club. pfft no idea.

But I do think the Civic 9 gen owner should group together and talk much more about the car rather than just a thread in lowyat.
Soon it will die off especially if the disccusions are only about mods. Its always hot when u have a brand new car. Thats why they say, dont get over excited and start doing all kinds of mods. Wait at least 3 months and then see if ure still excited to do mods.

But forums are good to discuss problems and share info.

noticed that the current civic doesnt comes with speed lock...was told msian government instructed honda to remove this feature due safety...was quoted rm320 to install it.
Who gave u this info? If the Malaysian Gov told Honda to remove it due to a safety concern, then shouldnt it have been a blanket instruction to all car manufacturers supplying cars in Malaysia? But most other new cars have this function. If it was a safety concern, the first to ban it would be the American NHTSA and Euro NCAP not the Malaysian Gov.

I heard it is really due to safety, to comply with euro standard. Autolock has possibility to mulfunction if accident happens and keep passanger from unlocking the car as I know.
What is the Euro standard in relation to auto door locks? Some new cars (if not most) have auto lock and also auto unlock in case of accident.

so thats another thing that hybrid has and our 2.0 doesnt. u can lock it manually with that little button on the driver side. and it will unlock itself when u open the door without having to push that unlock button (from inside of course)
This function was in Toyota cars since before 2003. Even my previous 1st generation Vios had it. Its only for the driver's door though.

If u pull the lever from inside without pressing the little button, will it only unlock the drive side door, and other 3 doors remain lock?
Yes.

I test drove the new Civic Hybrid the other day. It was not quiet as you mentioned. I noticed the rolling tyre is very noisy and every time i step on the brake it makes some 'eeeeeee......'noise coming from the battery compartment. It's very irritating. Did you notice the same issue?
Tyre noise will become more pronounced when the engine is quiet and vice versa. Thats why in some cases, when u change to 'quiet' tyres like Michelin & Continental, ull suddenly realise that the engine sounds 'louder' when in actual fact, the previous tyre noise was drowning out the engine sound in the cabin.

We only have these 4 option to replace engine oil.

SM 0W-20 (Fully-Synthetic)
SL 5W-40 (Fully-Synthetic)

SL 10W-30 (Mineral)
SM 5W-30* (Eco-Friendly)

Just because of the preventive maintenance interval is about 10,000km, better dont use SM 5W-30, SL 10W-30.

My concern is engine life and fuel saver. So, I choose SM 0W-20 (Fully-Synthetic) but need to get antiwear additive because this oil antiwear wasn't enough to get 10,000km interval.

SL 5W-40 (Fully-Synthetic) was a good oil in term of but this oil will drop my car performance.

AFAIK the SC tell me about SM 0W-20 price after discount about RM161 = SC said 5L. Not sure about liter differ in manual said 3.5L.. but he quote me for 2.0L engine.

Anyone having information about this?
SM0W-20 (Fully Syn) doesnt have sufficient anti-wear additives to last 10,000km??? shocking.gif

Where did you get this info from la?

Not sure how he got the mileage, but antiwear rating is indeed low
