QUOTE(jason111785 @ Feb 15 2012, 10:57 AM) Lets say I earn 4.5k SGD over there and 2K SGD is my fix expenses there (rental + food + logistic + etc), i left out 2.5k SGD which comes around 6K if the xrate is 2.4.. after minus my fix expenses say 3.5k, I've only left bout 2.5k savings +-.. consider good? noone can tell u if it is good enuf for u with that amt of savings, cause diff ppl have diff type of retirement life. but u just need to ask urself this...can u save at least 2.5k every month now and is it worth to be away from family and friends for that amt? 2k expenses is a lot, so you might be getting more to save, unless u dun control ur urges for branded stuff since the number looks smaller compared to back in m'sia. QUOTE(totti 10 @ Feb 17 2012, 02:20 PM) well, about my interview earlier this week, i pretty much spent about 30minutes getting killed and owned by the GM, where he boldly mentioned that I am not adaptable, not flexible, and technical minded ( he is is looking for someone with more commercial minded). Sent a thank you letter the day after the interview, and the HR said will revert to me by Friday(today). But today the HR said still cannot conclude their selection yet. My guess is that, I did bad, but the others did worse. lol i guess that means u still have hope. good luck then. the GM must have grilled everyone alive.

QUOTE(Lester1987 @ Feb 26 2012, 01:47 AM) The rules for Malaysian is, For every 90 days, you can stay in Singapore for 60 days. I actually called up ICA and asked them about this. So u can stay in Singapore for 30 days, then exit and enter again for 30 days, if u exit and want to enter again, they won't let u in until u left Singapore for a month. For my case, Coz i stay in JB, so i can in out everyday, but they will calculate how many days I have entered, so they won't give you more than 60 days for every 90 days. that's what ICA told me. For your case, its easier for them to manage. For cases like me its a little bit hard because they need to calculate the stamps 1 by 1 and i can say most of the time they don't calculate and just let u go through. Actually, after the first 30 days, the immigration will not give you 30 days for the 2nd time. They will give about 21 days. If you reenter after 21 days, they give u about 5 days. They have some sort of buffer. This is real experience of someone i know.

QUOTE(deodorant @ Feb 26 2012, 05:27 PM) No such thing for my fiancee before she got her LTVP. After 30 days, every time she comes into Singapore the ICA ppl calculate exactly how many days she has left (out of the 60 days allowance) and mark it on her entry chop in the passport. that was exactly what happen to someone i knew the immigration officer cancelled off the 30 days written on the white card and rewrote it to 21 or a number lesser. and we did not know of such a rule until eventually...until day 59 tried to enter, immigration say only left 1 day.

QUOTE(deodorant @ Feb 28 2012, 01:51 PM) I ON one, I'm always looking to move SGD to MYR every other month or so. The problem is the trust issue ... I need to bank in SGD to forumer X, and he need to bank MYR to me, but who does the first move? If me, how willing am I to trust some random stranger with my money and vice versa? the thing is...most of us are moving money from sgd to myr unless u start a WTS/WTB thread, i dun think there are many ppl moving money the other direction.

QUOTE(deodorant @ Feb 28 2012, 03:15 PM) what service do you use? my current bank (scb) charges are ridiculous, sgd40-50 each time. It's been mentioned few times in this thread that maybank can do it for $15 or so, but I lazy to open another account with them just for the occasional remittance every few months. citi sg to citi my is sgd10 (they said, nvr tried) pay2home is sgd9 (hmm...macam naik harga d) i use another method which i think is like a privilege for my company.

QUOTE(ky118 @ Feb 29 2012, 09:22 AM) I m surely not kidding. It seems u didn't understand my questions. Thanks anyway. This? Anyway, you are asking from MY to SG? Most ppl in this thread dun do transfer in that direction cause most of the ppl here have excess in SGD not MYR. Anyway, a simple search in maybank2u website could have got you the answer. QUOTE(tiramisu83 @ Feb 29 2012, 02:58 PM) actually i can get more than RM5k here. If you can get extra 2k (after convert to RM), do u think is worth for you to move? this is a trick question right? if u focus only on money...you already have your answer. if u are focusing on feeling...what i feel is different from what u or others feel....so how can i comment?

Regarding the motorcycle issue. Odds are low, but risk is high...this is a fact. The odds should not be taken into your consideration...the risk is the one you should be concerned. Odds for winning the jackpot in 4D or TOTO or lottery is very small, but still a lot of people buy them. You just need to be unlucky once on the road and that might be the end of story. You can be alert and careful all you want but for an accident to happen, you as the driver is only one of the many variables. That is the reason r1v3r wants to point out. Everyone have their reasoning, no need to get ticked off.

QUOTE(Lester1987 @ Mar 14 2012, 03:28 PM) SG license is permanent and doesn't need to be renew. lets say when u want to go back to msia for retirement, u can just convert them back by getting a letter from SG Traffic Police. For msia side, no test needed, just shw the letter and they give you back your Msia license. but according to this, it seems that the is a renewal process for driving license in sg. permanent should be for PR and citizen, from what i understand from here
