MAS sets a minimum income requirements for Singaporeans and foreigners to obtain credit cards from Singapore registered banks. I think it's something like $30K or 36K per annum.

But many banks have higher end cards with higher income requirements to segment the market and filter out the customer base their want. This Premiermiles card seems to be one of them. Many Platinum cards have $48K requirement instead of the minimum $30K.

I heard those cards with atas names like INFINITE, ULTIMATE, ULTIMA etc have $250K income requirement.

not sure how true is this.
but it seems that MAS has increased the limit for foreigners.
now u need 5k basic. sweat.gif sweat.gif
that is what a lot of card salesperson ask me after they know I am on EP. laugh.gif laugh.gif

The only paper work involved are:
- payable check to me.
- a service job report copy to client and myself, signed by both parties. (it also serves as payment receipt)

@extremepower
What if I received freelance job opportunity every 2 weeks? xD I've already being offered another project by the same client with target date in late May/early June.
*

legally...u cannot have a side income (work) with another company while on EP
practically...a lot of ppl does that.
like the saying goes...you are good until you get caught.

personally, the one which you have already got payment, i would advise against filing for tax.
i mean, it is kinda like declaring you have a side job which should be illegal right?

you have to decide on the risk yourself for future freelance jobs
others can say whatever they want (including my opinion)...but if anything happens (touch wood), where would those ppl (including me) be?
definitely not with you defending what was said last time.
the black and white u signed can be used against u if the other party decides to screw u.

I had bad experience using CC for petrol in MY. once I pump at ulu palces, the line have some problem and the sales girl try for a while before it finally work. End of the month, my statement showed 3x transaction for same amount of petrol within a few minutes apart. I called the Maybank SG and they ask me to settle it with the station owner directly (3 hours drive away), no extra help from them. Now I seldom use that CC.
that is very bad service.
what if we went for a holiday and paid for hotel which happen to have the same case as yours
fly all the way back to settle with the owner?! sweat.gif sweat.gif
surprising that such customer service survived in sg. laugh.gif laugh.gif

Actually, why do you all blame the parents for applying PR for the kid?
We do not know their reason.
They may or may not know that their sons will have to serve NS.
They may have applied PR for their son cause at the moment, the parents might have thought of enrolling the kids to schools in Sg.
They may have applied PR for their kids so that they can be together instead of taking the risk of applying a dependant pass (yearly?) with a chance of getting rejected.

BTW, how come P2 categorize as Elite? IMHO, earning 5k not really an elite life. I'm sure lots of ppl debated before about RM and SGD, I would like to compare a life of a single(35 years old) man living in KL and a SGPR

In KL, he can purchase a Rm500k double-storey house and drive a new Honda City.

In SG, he can only afford a $400k HDB and cannot afford a new car
*

Erm...so why are you here instead of KL?

anyone try pay2home money transfer service before?

it says only SGD 9 per transaction (flat rate) regardless of transaction amount.
*

I tried before.
However, I used it when it was my birthday and they offered me a one time waive of the fee.
The rate isn't really that attractive. sweat.gif sweat.gif
