if he send it to AB, of course blood going to dried out.

furthermore, that 15k for refurbishment, should already cover all changeable parts yawn.gif

u nvr will know.... it is like a time bomb.... my dad previous BMW 5 series.... even within the warranty period also show problem... right after the warranty directly sold it.

And parts are really expensive.... a side mirror cost about 2k, and some of the parts inside cost even more....

first of, which model of 5 series your father have? E39 or E60?

if it's an E39 5 series, you have to know that is an entry luxury model. it's scarcer compared to 3 series (E46). i know BMW's all look alike throughout the same series but it's like you're comparing spareparts price for camry with vios.

I'm not sure how a Vios and Myvi can achieve super top speeds...I tried my 2003 Vios and yes, it goes to 185km/h on the meter...but the GPS registered only 170km/h.....even at real 110kmh the Vios meter is already 115km/h...stock tires.

Yes u said easily hit 160kmph but 160 is like nothing nowadays. Even Myvi can reach that speed without much effort. Dunno why u used 160kmph as a comparison.
*
Me did not compare it lah... Me said :

Lancer want to reach 200 also quite hard... but it reached 160 easily... Of coz vios & myvi can reach 160 but how fast they can reach 160 ? Of coz Lancer is faster....

Nvm... me do not want to argue on small issues...

Let's continue the discussion shall we ? icon_rolleyes.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

So sorry to tell u that fortuner is not a pick up truck, and 2.7L is under power.
*
+1 tried and tested... I test at Kemaman during my trip last year with Sorento 2.4... 1st gear SOrento have slight edge around 1/2 meter...

When I shift to 2nd gear, Fortuner can't catch up dy.. So I continue up to 160, Fortuner left very far.... Mebbe around 500 meters...

SO it is very slow...

Mind u that since the Sorento is still new, i short shifted at around 5k to 5.5k rpm only....

Buying Proton is a downgrade regardless of what of CC! And dont try to associate lancer with inspira. Just like china iphone with apple iphone. U mean everything else is MITSU? U wan me post campro picture?..There is no spirited driving in this car as vios can oso taopao inspira as claim by an inspira owner.

A light modded 1.3 old 'Proton Junk' also can tapao Vios / City anytime. Either on straights or corners. Mind you the Vios i mentioned is Ah Beng Vios / City who wants to look fast but in fact it is not

Lancer / Inspira is a good car. Heavy chassis but engine performance not bad. Only downside for me is the CVT tends to overheat once you start modding the engine internally.

TS, since your budget is 100k and i assume you don't mind about maintenance cost just get 308pug. Turbocharged cars are quite fast and fun to drive.

If you concerned about maintenance costs as well, nothing much can recommend to you except for go for Jap / local NA cars. But with 100k, there is NO new car except for Satria Neo. Yes, engine is slightly not so powerful but its fun to drive once the RPM reaches 4k and above. Chassis rigidity is also good so just by changing to stiffer springs, the car can handle very well.

High revving engine is so orgasmic. Else get DC2 / DC5 smile.gif

that y for new car below 100k, i recommend INSPIRA 1.8 MANUAL , huge enuff to fit his 180cm built comfortably,
SAFE with it's RISE body feature, power is there coupled with a 5 speed manual, WELL spirited drive ma, what better than a manual ? and how much.....less then 80k, or u can wait for it's REAL R3 version with performance mod,( not the current R3 fake crap)

OK...spirited drive, cheap n good would be those 3 series with 1jz inside and yet it's elegant enough for daily drive. Haha...
