I got no Shiba Inu but I know they can be quite hard to train cuz they have a mind of their own tongue.gif.

But keep it up! They are still a very good cheeky companion dog.

Thats why its challenging to train them, cuz they are stubborn....hard to get them to pay attention to u when they refuse. Its easy cuz they can easily learn when they WANT to lol.

Wah...u from penang? Can i come visit u and ur dogs one day? I'm frmo penang as well.

Pet shop price would range from 3K to 5K . If you could get hold of the breeder, you might get better puppy and lower price ..pet shop need to earn after all tongue.gif

shiba generally does not required any additional medical fees but the routine "default" fee does apply as the breed does not have much defact genetic problem.
The number of Shiba in Malaysia is very min, people giving away is rather rare as well as selling it in lower price.
There is breeder who selling Shiba below RM2500 compare to pet shop above 3000...

Another option is, find my shiba as he ran off from my house 3 weeks ago .. but if you found him, I will give you RM500 as reward cry.gif cry.gif

I love Shiba Inu too. .
It always border me that having exclusive breed will attract unnecessary dog breeder and they may 'kidnap' my shiba inu. .
Still wondering between getting a pure breed Shiba Inu or give an abandon dog a second chance. ..
Anyway.. I am new to dog. .. Never has the experience with dog before. .. icon_question.gif

Shiba is not recommended for first timer. Give other dog a chance and adopt one ...
Frankly, Shiba does look like mongrel ... and 85% of the time when I walk my shiba, they will just think is a nicely taken care mongrel biggrin.gif

Please do not get one if you are a first time dog owner. Also if you do not have the space and time.

If you really insist in getting one, just Google Shiba Inu for sale Malaysia.

Shiba Inu was never listed in the banned list. You must have mistaken it with Akita.. which is banned from import only.

There are still local breeders of this Akita species. If not for my better half, I would have gotten an Akita instead of a Shiba Inu.

I saw an imported akita up for sale.
His head level at my waist, i am 170cm. Their teeth very big, strong and that akita very very big size.
I think is american akita. Definarely not japanese akita.
Anyway, base on true story hachiko is akita. But in the movie hachiko, that is shiba inu. Because akita is too fierce to shoot movie. tongue.gif

Is Shiba Inu naturally a picky eater? My Shiba don't really want to eat her dry food. She just nibble a little every now and then. But she wouldn't mind the canned food though. LOL

How can I make my Shiba eat more? I have use the 10 minutes rules and no treats unless I am training her. She still refuse to eat. Tried changing her food as well but she jsut not bother.

Anyone has any idea what to do with this little pest??

When I first had Creamy, she was like that. She would pick on her food. I changed the food that the breeder was feeding her to Acana, She ate it all within 3 min for about 3 days then slow..and finally just pick a bit. She would take a few bites then stop eating. I had to resort to putting bits of chicken, beef or pork (all cooked) into her dry feed. BTW, I soak her dry feed with water before feeding it to her.

Then she got diarrhoea. I took her to the vet, he asked to stop feeding her for 24 hours. Something like letting the bacteria run itself out. Then proceed to give her 1 small piece of chicken fillet ( about the size of a man's finger) boiled in water. The chicken is to be shredded with a fork. This is to be done at 2 times a day. The next day, it is increased to 3. Then the following day, add a bit of the dry feed with that small piece of chicken. 3 times a day. Increase the amount of dry feed to 1/2 the regular feed, by the 5th day, you can totally remove that boiled chicken.

My Creamy now is so happy to see her food. All is gone within the 5 minutes. So I say it is a blessing in disguise she got that diarrhoea.

This is also a way to see if your Shiba Inu is allergic to chicken. If you see your Shiba Inu scratching itself after the feed, please stop the chicken and replace with beef or pork or fish. Then check your dry feed.

Another thing, in that 24 hours, my Creamy looked so pitiful. She would whine and whimper. The vet says unlike human, dogs would digest almost 90% of the chicken. So Creamy won't die from the lack of food. And i would also know if she is allergic to chicken.

I try that before as well, she will only pick at the chicken and leave the dry food alone. LOL

it doesnt work as well, i mixed a bit of canned food for her and she eats it but after two days, the whole process start again........ but I do noticed she likes egg, and if I mixed it with the blend dry food ( yes, I have to blend it to stop her seperating it from the stuff she will eat, faint) she usually wont resist.

But then I have not given her egg with food every meal, so I dont know after few consecutive meal with egg, will she refuse it as well or not... LOL

Also, she is in heat right now, 3 weeks already...... when is she gonna stop??

Took Chiyo (my shiba) to the vet today. Vet said she is having pro-long heat cycle, LOL . Gonna have to bear with it for another 10days or so.

Took her to the Setia Alam dog park to run around off leash yesterday. There wasnt any dog around so can let her run freely even she is in heat LOL. Great to see her run freely. Plan to take her there more often when she is completely clear to prevent any untoward incidents hahaha

haha!! Yeah!! but can't openly said it as this is violating forum's rule!!

I usually walk Toshi nearby my neighborhood! now that I bought a ordinary bicycle... I am walking my dogs while cycling ..
Is a challenge as Toshi will go after cat so I will have to anticipate his move ahead ..
fortunately, still able to control while cycling .. hehe

I see i see, Chiyo doesnt seem to bother about other dogs and cats. Only one particular stray puppy she always wanna chase after and play. The rest she usually just stopped and look at them. I take her to the Setia Alam dog park a few times a week to play. Weekdays usually no other dogs there. Weekend more dogs and sometimes she plays with them sometime she don't, depends on her mood I guess. But she usually go running round and round a few times. Really beautiful seeing her run freely.

Saw another Shiba last Sunday. But he doesnt seem to be want to play, just hang around at side looking and walking. LOL

Don't think you can get this breed below 2K. should be close to 4K or more.

Actually, Shiba is a rare breed in Malaysia. Do expect the price to be higher. In pet shop it is usually selling above 3.5K.. If you managed to get hold of breeder, you might be able to get lower.. but doubt can find below 2K.
Rare usually come along with price.. if you are looking for pure breed..
If you could get shiba below 1K, better check the blood line and history.. my 0.02 cents ..

Hi, me and my gf owned a shiba. His name is Shiro πŸ˜ƒ anyone in kl or pj area owns shibas as well? Wanna find him a playmate, as we noticed he is super hyperactive, and other dog type (frens and pet cafes) wouldn't be able to catchup with him πŸ˜‚. We figured maybe one of their kind would let him play his heart out. πŸ˜„

My gf loves the breed, and particularly the cream white one coz she had one that passes away last year. Nostalgia I guessπŸ˜‚. She likes those that are actives, energetic, smart, furry, and of medium sized. Shiba ticks all so the rest are history lol.

Call out again to kl pj shiba owner. Anyone?😳
